I am practicing visual noting and always LOVE your video. Incredibly useful and give lots of impact on me and I believe others as well. Im writing a thesis about how can visual recordings help maximize in training, the theories that you show us is super useful. Thumbs up to you and very big thanks!!! 🙏💕

It's nice to hear your teaching and learning philosophy and also your goals for the channel. One thing that made me think of you yesterday was the show, Love on the Spectrum on Netflix. It's a dating show about people who have autism, on the spectrum, and one of the coaches uses sketch noting while talking to the guys seeking dating advice and how to interact with others. She draws throughout the whole conversation. And it's clear it's not because these folks need stick figures to communicate ideas because they lack reasoning skills. It's to help communicate with dual coding! Because they have to work harder to recognize and reflect emotions, sketching is like when we put emojis in our texts - it's to help convey something unsaid. Great to see this being shown in a clear and concise way. Thanks again and keep it up!

Thanks Aaron! That's cool that you saw sketchnoting used in that way. I've also heard from teachers doing something similar!

So clear and nicely visually explained. I am French scribe and I teach visual thinking, and I love to see such vision and conceptualization of this amazing universal new langage. Thanks for the quality of your content for our profession

You should read The External Mind by Annie Murphy Paul. It speaks to a lot to what you have here!

Oooh yeah, that one crossed my path a little while back but I hadn't picked it up. Added to my wishlist!

This is a little bit off topic
but what do you think of combing written sketchnotes + memory palace?

I think it's a great idea! I haven't experimented with it myself, but it seems like it would help to build some muscle memory into the process. One potential downside is if the simplicity of the sketchnoted version conflicts with the richer mental visualization of the specific space you're using for your memory palace. Worth trying out though!

      Thanks for your detailed answer
i just dont want to use flash cards so much
because it can get really dull even when incorperating sketch notes
in the book of Nelson Dellis
      - who is a multiple memory champion -
      Memory Super Powers the illustrator
did basically used sketch notes for better
      understanding
My thought was why not do the same in the process in learning for university etc.
Again thanks for the awesome Content Doug

so you're saying the _molecules_ are interlinked (because that is what you drew).

He said memories are interlinked, as part of a schema, and represented those visually with circles

@@Rory426 3:21 - looks nothing like that. He's the visual illustrator. He needs some dendrites _and_ terminal buttons.
