The lesson that took me from broke to 6-figures was investing in learning one skill, then I started using that skill to provide a service and build my personal brand. It changed everything for me, don’t be afraid to invest in yourself, there are no downsides.

The ones that profited off the gold rush were those selling the tools to find the gold, not those looking for gold.
Content creation is the digital gold rush, where Dan profits from selling the tools for that dream, and general public wanting to look for gold by doing content creation. Wake up people.

@@80X20FitnessXFinance Yes, and it's taking greater shape every day.
The hardest part for me was to understand just how to distill my skills into a meaningful format.
My experiences, blue collar, some spiritual, psychological, some fitness related, and a variety of other non-related interests and hobbies.
I've always been a generalist, so perhaps I have an advantage, however, I wasn't sure where to start until recently.
The common wisdom from the course I took was niche niche niche. That didn't sit well with me..
That's not what made Walmart Successful, Amazon didn't just stay selling books, and gas stations don't just sell gas :).
The realization is that being a creator means you are going to see things other's don't, and I shouldn't run from this realization, but instead, run towards it.
      That's what I'm doing!

Congrats Dan!! This is one of your better paced & written pieces from all that I've seen (the hair looks good too). Succinct, connected and direct. I'm inclined to agree with your POV and your points as stated, stand on their own. Foundational and commonsense based. The message is a value-for-value basis that will only grow in 2024 and beyond. You are most correct when informing people that they have to revisit their understanding of what money is and how it works in today's world, not in the past. That said, Mr. Buffet from Omaha still has the 'sage' advice on long-term capital investments that still work. But it's 2024 and one thing is for certain. If you're looking and can't find it; you're not looking hard enough. Well done.

In my country there are countless billionaires that didn't go to school at all, but made it through the hustle culture, apprenticeship, investing in their talents and natural gifts, hardwork, commerce and trade, start-ups and art. I'm not trying to say that school and education are a waste of time, modern education will only refine and civilize your mind academically, socially and open you up to new jobs and opportunities and give you a monthly salary but getting a job with your degree will never guarantee you true success, wealth and freedom to live your life according to your terms

My problem with this whole creator economy synthesizer model is that I'm 100% sure that it will become next (coaching coaches how to coach coaches to coach coaches) bullshit economy.
It's completely fine if you really know some skill that others are willing to pay for, but again, most people who will soon come to this market will be very impressionable 18years old, without life experience and skills, who wants that Lambo and flashy lifestyle.
They will end up in other synthesizer programs who will teach them how to synthesize for synthesizers because that's the easiest to sell to impressionable market - same reason why SMMA gurus quickly realize that it's easier to sell to impressionable SMMA crowd rather than to actual business owners

  • @rooster3103
    @rooster3103 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    Two things are ironic here.
    1) The comparison with the gold rush. Because the vast majority of the people who went looking for gold in Klondike didn't get rich.
    2) What Dan Koe says about 'if you are not chasing your own dreams, you will be contributing to someone else his dreams'. By watching this video I feel like I'm doing just this. Contributing to the dreams of Dan Koe, while all I'm doing is some form of mental mastrubation.
Also, to me personally, it feels like either bad advice what he's giving, or obvious advice. Obvious advices are things like: work on yourself, learn new skills, provide value etc.
Bad advice is saying that being a content creator is the fundament of what you should be doing. Ask any kid nowadays what they want to do to make money and there is a big chance they'll say they want to be a TH-camr or a content creator. It's extremely oversaturated. There is a figurative war going on for online attention. Only highly skillful and competent people might be able to compete in such an oversaturated landscape (and even then, you might still need luck too). But if you are a highly skilled individual, this means that this video isn't really for you, because you are already bound to be succesful, one way or another. If you are more like an average, normal person, like most people viewing this video, then this video is also not going to help you much. Because then you are not that person that is able to compete for an online audience in an extremely saturated landscape.
This is how I feel about it, my opinion. If I'm missing the mark completely, feel free to tell me. (edit, typo)

I felt into this trap but quickly realized I was going in the wrong direction. My main source of income is my web design agency.
What always attracted me with Dan’s content is the lifestyle.
He has a good intention but I think the form is getting a little distorted.
The skill he’s trying to teach is extremely difficult for the average joe.
There are A LOT of steps before seeing any sort of progress.

Great video Dan! I would, however, argue that just because social media allows us to Connect globally, we have not automatically turned into 1 tribe. There are more tribes to choose from absolutely, but that can also make it more difficult. I still see “finding your tribe” aka your audience as both a really important But also difficult to task, even with socials.

A little idea vs execution lesson- i hauled and put up wooden fence posts for privacy wind block in my garden. A couple days of work on top of the days planning. I eventually found out they are toxic. I went out in the rain to trim grass next to them and could smell the fumes more when they were wet. I spent all day taking half of them back...another day of work left to get rid of them. Had many of these things happen in building my own garden spot. I consider taking my time out here a big investment 😅

Well, if kids reading this, please question everything you hear/see on the internet. While some of the things mentioned here is true - it doesn’t mean it’s only truth. Building personal brand and then sell whatever you want can work, Kardashians, Logan Paul is a good example. But while yes you can learn to be charismatic be entertainer, that’s not for everyone. Keep in mind that even them had some substance, skill to begin with. That’s why I completely disagree about specialisation. You will have immense advantage if you can do one thing better than most of people. This is your ticket to success, not one viral video on TikTok. If you have certain skill, then you can use TikTok, insta, TH-cam to launch yourself up. And only then you can try other ideas and projects. To sum up, being a personal brand is the shell. You can build it and then fill up with stuff. But that’s a 1/1000 case. It’s way more easier to have core, then build the shell and then grow from that.

Hey Dan this is a comment for all the times you've talked about reaching the flow state. Not nessisaraly a comment on this video in particular. I'm just on your most recent video to up the chances of a reply. I spent 10 years as a chef and worked my way up nice and good. worked for Coney Desuza Canadas most celebrated female chef and so on. Met all my idols working at booshy hotels. but never made more than 17 an hour and all the abuse and behind the scenes chef life broke me completely. I ended up homeless for three months cause I was so deep in phycosis I forgot where I lived. Im a good guy from an upper middle class family. IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE. Anyway I have achieved the flow state in the last year. I don't drink, no weed, no vaping, no alcohol in 4 years. and Im on my third attempt at starting a business. Fully understanding it takes most people more than one try. But spiritually Im HERE completely. Your a piece of my journey Dan.

Congrats on getting back on your feet & continuing the good fight, brother 💪🏼🙌🏼

Yep digital is very high leverage. RE and Stocks are lower leverage, so you need a lot of money to make it worthwile - Investing is good fun though. And jobs/small businesses are the lowest form of leverage, if any at all.
Outstanding video btw, thanks for making it. Cheers.

Thanks for sharing, but ideas do not really mean much when you cannot organize them into something that people want.

I just don’t like to put myself out there as if am a product. I am a human being, I don’t have any social media under my name. I feel happy this way. I also wanna start a digital business what should I do?

Hi Dan, I started watching Your videos a year ago, and you are truly an inspiration. I was trained to believe that everyone needs to go to college, get a high paying job , and retire. My question is How can I tap into my creativity and purpose. I feel like I have lost all of it . I have no Idea what business to start.
