That logo...''the heavy roller'' caught my eye. That excellent channel no longer exists,...folded up about a year ago. Such a pity, there was some superb action, remarkably back to the late 1950's.
Tail end 50s Scottish team and no real central defence - only Brown, Caldow and Dave McKay made it into the 1960s. Two future Scottish managers in Ormond and Docherty. Never heard of Dick and this was his sole cap. Charlton looked the standout player - he was a pacey outside left then. Alex Scott and John White (reserves) would have been better options for Scotland in my view.
I like Flower of Scotland, but these were different times. They had been through a world war and their life experiences were very, very different. It's also worth checking in with the fact that the England team - whisper it - weren't very good.
