Very nicely done. Thank-you. I live & work in Athol (6 years now). It's a quiet town, but there is always something happening if you want activities. ❤️

Athol opened up a marijuana dispensary recently and any city that has one of these stores will get a good amount of extra money from the state and other types of benefits as well. I think the schools are good they have definitely got better not worse in the last 5 years and did a major update on the middle/junior high school and they did a great job it looks brand new. I do also get the sense of Athol having more Life in it these last couple years I also think due to Covid a lot of people were running from the big cities with all the restrictions and madness happening and Athol is like a Vacation compared too the big City it's so peaceful, pretty and has a lot of friendly people living inside it.

Grew up in Athol all the way into my early adulthood. Great place to live, it’s a lot nicer now that they have the North Quabbin Commons for food and entertainment.

I've lived in Athol most of my life (over 50 years) I still see it as a mill town. Deemed "economically depressed" yet property values are skyrocketing due to the influx of people moving here from Boston and beyond. Most of the town's long time residents who work in town based jobs have a hard time keeping up with this because frankly, these jobs don't exactly pay well enough to meet the rising "cost of living"

I worked in Athol for seven years. Great place to live if you don't have children. The schools are terrible!

That is sad to hear. I grew up in Athol and went through the Athol school system. I was led to believe that we had an excellent school system. If it has declined, I am not surprised. Our leaders have found more and more ways to eliminate valuable and important school programs all the while they have been dumbing down our citizens. That alone would explain why we are in the mess we are in today. People who have not learned the important lessons of history are doomed to repeat them. Of course, we tend to do that regardless of the quality of our education. We must put more value and effort into educating our children if we stand a chance in the world that we are living in now.

Athol needs an art community to bring people into town. It needs fewer political extremists on the right as well.
