Damn, that ex-fan’s video was brutal. Understandable, though. Do they expect us to believe it was pure coincidence that the black stream occurred at the exact same time Doki had scheduled her Neopets stream? That they just so happened to release what amounted to a smear video at the exact same time Doki was just getting back on her feet? I don’t really condone directly calling out or harassing streamers, since Doki just wants to move on and it solves nothing, and I think even this was a bit much, but what Elira and the others did was pretty despicable.

The entire VTuber community, including other agencies, saw what happened to Doki and collectively agree that it was morally wrong. If the public and other agencies witnessed a talent sticking their neck out for Selen, deportation or losing a house would be the least of their worries. They would likely receive immense support from fans and other industry players, providing a safety net and potentially new opportunities. The community respects integrity and bravery, and those who stand up for what's right often find themselves supported and valued. The thing with Niji Japanese fans is that Japan can still focus and isolate its entertainment for Japan only due to higher language barrier. Even older anime only gain popularity thanks to dedicated few who willing to spend their time learning Japanese and fansubbing shows for free.
Even Vtubing itself gain traction in the west due to two factors: Clippers, and few English speaking Vtubers like Coco, NijiIN, and HoloID. But even with flow of foreigners start watching Vtubers, Japanese streamers like Pekora, Miko or Fubuki can gain 10K viewers minimum from just local JP viewers.

Oh god I relate to that Elira fan so much. I'm an ex Kindred. In 2022, I got into vtubers for the first time and the one who really stood out to me was Vox. I very quickly became what I called a "Nijisanji girl" and only ever really watched Niji, specifically Vox and Luxiem. I loved them and watched them for a year and a half happily. Then the graduations and terminations started late 2023-early 2024. At that point I had started watching a new boy group from a new company. That group was Avallum. I watched the black screen video the day it came out 7 days after my birthday. I was in absolute shock and was crying. At that point I knew I had to stop supporting Vox. He was my kami oshi and I loved him, but I had to step away from him. Shortly after I continued watching Avallum and Lucien Lunaris became my kami oshi. even if anycolor used Elira, Vox and Ike. Those 3 still decided to take part in the situation. They all could have refused, and left the company speaking up against niji, with all their fans leaving WITH them and rebuilt like doki, but sadly they chose to be just as bad as the company instead, making matters worse for themselves. At the end of the day, not a single talent in Niji stood up for Selen, and turned a blind eye. They all made their choices only proving the point that both sides of any color and talent side are bad apples.
Keep in mind: had they all banned together in support of selen when the mistreatment began, or even spoke up against it, the company and Anycolor would have no choice but to listen.
1 they can't fire all of their talents for it.
    2. Vtuber companies and sponsors have all eyes on Niji and are aware of the mistreatment there. If talents get booted from Niji for that very reason, they'll be picked right back up with their followers intact. Sadly they've lost that opportunity by remaining quiet and allowing the staff to poorly handle things.
And talents who specifically try to defend the company's actions put themselves in a much worse spot as well.
Update: And the company just keeps getting even lower than before. Classic

Honestly I don't believe it would be fair to have expect them to openly rebel. First and foremost it's their careers so they gotta do whats best for themselves. However they could have chosen to not speak at all. Scarle did make somewhat of a subtle stand. But overall almost all the talents promoted the Black Stream which ultimately was Niji's biggest mistake in terms of PR.
If they had simple settled things with Doki behind the scenes. It likely would have blown over pretty quick. But that one stream really got the fire roaring.

    • @Murdstone12

@@FriendlyGaijin I understand that the fear of being terminated and labeled as a traitor by Nijisanji could have been a significant deterrent for any talents considering standing up for Selen. The risk of losing their fanbase and facing backlash is certainly a valid concern.
However, staying silent can also send a message of complicity, even if unintentional. By not speaking up, they allowed the company’s actions to go unchallenged, potentially contributing to an environment where such treatment is tolerated.
There have been instances in various industries where individuals or groups have taken a stand against unfair practices, and while it’s undoubtedly challenging and risky, it can lead to positive change. Supporting a colleague in distress could have united their fanbases and showcased a commitment to integrity and solidarity.
Ultimately, while the fear of repercussions is understandable, taking a principled stand can sometimes be the catalyst needed for change, demonstrating to both the company and the audience that certain behaviors are unacceptable. In the long run, this might have helped to create a more supportive and fair environment for all talents involved.

    • @Murdstone12
      @Murdstone12 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

@@failegion7828 I get that expecting open rebellion from the talents may seem unfair, given the potential risks to their careers. It’s true that each individual has to make choices that best suit their personal circumstances. However, the issue here isn't just about open rebellion; it's about the ethical responsibility of supporting a colleague and the impact of their actions on the broader community.
While Scarle's subtle stand is commendable, and choosing silence over complicity could be seen as a form of protest, the promotion of the Black Stream by almost all the talents is problematic. By participating in and promoting that stream, they inadvertently endorsed the company's stance, contributing to the negative perception and backlash.
Moreover, settling matters behind the scenes could have indeed been a more effective approach. However, the decision to publicly defame Doki not only harmed her but also damaged the company's reputation and the trust of the fans. It's important to recognize that actions, or the lack thereof, have consequences. Silence can sometimes be misinterpreted as agreement, and in this case, the talents' participation in the stream added fuel to the fire.
The core issue is the need for integrity and support within the community. Standing up for what is right, even in subtle ways, can lead to positive change and foster a more supportive environment. The talents had an opportunity to set a precedent for solidarity and ethical behavior, which could have ultimately benefited everyone involved. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Keep in mind a co-worker of theirs only attempted suicide twice due to their work environment from bullying and poor management within the company.
Remaining silent, taking orders, or doing next to nothing about the issue is far more painful than taking a stand against what you know isn't morally correct. Watching your co-workers take part in defaming someone you knew or even had an ounce of care fore must have been deeply disheartening. Taking a stand, even subtly, could have demonstrated integrity and solidarity, setting a powerful example for the entire community. Standing up for what is right not only supports those who are wronged but also helps create a more just and supportive environment for everyone involved.

SAY SOMETHING for crying out loud.
NO ONE DID so Doki SAID SOMETHING. the community RESPONDED. Fans stuck with her, fans bailed the company, and sponsors/artists also followed suit. AND STOOD UP FOR HER.
if the niji talents did the same while she was still in the hospital there wouldnt be such a big divide. Businesses who kept a close eye on the company taken notice at Niji and Anycolor. Vt companies included. They would have immediately be picking up these talents if they were terminated or quit on their own accord. Fans would also leave with their favorite talents. Let’s be honest, hearing a former fan of Elira ranting about how hypocritical she was for running a smear campaign against Selen with pure hateful resentment in his voice just absolutely fuels my anger point to 11

3:00 There is a chance. Assume they graduate and then they somehow collab with Doki.
That will leave everyone so utterly confused that they might manage to have success.
I don't think that is likely at all, but there can always be some things happening behind the scenes that might make reality different from how we see it, and maybe there is a universe where there is no bad blood currently between Doki and Elira.
Most likely that universe doesn't exist.

We actually discussed that LumiereGrimson Vtuber drama with MotherV3 in a stream yesterday, cause she is the one he has beef with. Apparently he botraided her and was an all around annoyance over the last few months. After all that he got banned by her, because Twitch Guidelines forced her to do it. We also checked the metrics a bit and it looks like he is using bots for his chat as well, but take that with a grain of salt, cause we don´t have proof of that.

Honestly, I'm still seething at Vox. Whenever a CC I like makes the decision to destroy their image, I usually just end up feeling nothing towards them anymore. Just pure indifference, cause I can't even be bothered to waste energy to hate on them. But Vox though? I f***ing hate him. Biggest reason is how big of a betrayal did he just showed us.
I used to think of him as that guy who'd protect his friends. I mean, he protected Reimu from his fans after the ASMR incident. I had a lot of respect for the guy. Then he was one of the voices in that black video. I wanted to believe that the three of them were being forced by management to do it cause the three of them were well-respected in the community. I thought that they'll leave sooner or later. But they haven't left yet... which made me realize that Vox Akuma is actually a f***ing bastard. The same guy who seemed to have a great chemistry with Selen, would genuinely betray a friend. That's why I can't help but hate him. I can't just act like he's not there, cause he's just too big of a bastard for that.

Elira it makes me worried, she screw up big time that she deserves it, but the whole community they all hate her wishing if she was gone, is harsh when the whole world hates you, she did that for her job and not against it, but look what has come to her, just making the mistake of supporting the company would make the whole world hate you, the best what she could do, is...
    1. Quit Nijisanji (screw graduation because taking actions of quitting would take a different perspective to the community instead of the community relieve that she's gone from graduation)
    2. Apologize to doki
    3. take a break
    4. get help
    5. start over either as a person or independent vtuber
she can't ignore all the trash talk, that could lead to something worst, the community is scary is a scary thing if you show on the wrong side.

So far there hasn't been a situation where they had doxed any of the Niji En (thank god). While Elira deserve criticism what worries me most isnt just the problem you pointed out but the fact that Niji would not take mental issues seriously. So far no one got a mental help as far I'm concerned even if they have it might be just outnof courtesy. The fact that they streamed in Bili bili rather than a good moderator just highlights that. Imagine you have to stream elsewhere where you fandom isnt where its at let alone them using a language you are familiat too. Compared to making videos which is just recording and if you are willing enough edit them. Streaming is exhausting like extreamly so. Niji had to step up or just sell their company of they cant be competent enough in their overseas branch.

Yeah. Sadly black companies thrive because japanese fanbases are depressingly use to this. So it's a culture shock for international fans, but normal is for local fans.
Hell, apparently the fans are PART of the problem. It's a toxic relationship that the japanese don't want to acknowledge since it's one of their major escapisms.

That AI voice is unwatchable, my god. It's really bad for content longer than one or two sentences.
That "strong base" that black companies like Anycolor enjoy will only last as long as there is no big crash in the Japanese economy that implodes the financial bubble. Without any of their make-believe money in spreadsheets and internet servers being worth jack, their house of cards will invariably fall apart. And those of us aware of economic shifts _know_ that JP's economy is essentially circling a drain, especially since it's so subservient to the dollar and the world de-dollarizing itself at a rapid pace.
