fun fact - the drum rhythm uses the 'immigrant song' groove which is a perfect fit for this song btw. (and yeah, us drummers often use speficic grooves. It's normal)

Imagine how freaking loud that would be. 2 fender bassman heads, 1 4 x 12 half stack cab and what looks to be a 2 x 15 cab. Then the bass player is rocking an ampeg split state amp (most likely the 400-800 watt head) with a 8x8 or 8x10 cabinet. Plus the P.A. system. Awesome.
Can tell you that this was as loud as Dinosaur/My bloody valentine was. Saw them in Asheville and it was so good.

Just when you geeked out hard on the KEXP session, you come across this brutally raw assault on your senses.
It sounds so different than that recording, but still so good.
@@adamschwartzberg5238 Sadly, the album did not live up to my expectations at all. It's because the mix is so anemic compared to the KEXP session and this one.
@@deejaaywalker2314 KEXP is like a cheat code for good sound - their engineers are bonkers.
@@adamschwartzberg5238 Really good point! Maybe they just set it up once, got it right, locked the soundboard in the closet so no one could mess with perfection and every band since just plugs in. Seriously, though, KEXP is the Peel Sessions for the new century... and I mean that with utmost respect for the late great John Peel and his team from the BBC.

@@nowone666 I just have that feeling that king gizzards discography seems to be a bit quanity over quality. Might just be my taste but most of their stuff is just not that exciting to me. :/

This is amazing just cause I love the band but the KEXP mix is 100x better.
Too noisy for me. I guess it's because of the environment. They mentioned that it makes it sound a specific way.
