This was so helpful as I’m about to tackle a waterfall dresser. My daughter wants as much of the original look as possible but the sides had veneer damage so I have to do a combo of restore and refinish. Thank you!

Fabulous! I own the little sister to this chest (a 3 drawer dresser). It has two water marks on the top, but is in excellent shape otherwise. It doesn’t have the orange Bakelite(?) “petals” on handles and I’m sure the were never there. I’ve been okay living with the water marks, but I may get the nerve to try to refinish the top minimally as you did.

Cindy, you are a miracle worker when it comes to restoring hardware. I followed your directions but there is a little tarnish still clinging to otherwise beautiful brass pulls. What to do? Steel wool and barkeeper's friend?

Hi Jan! My understanding is that in Australia, Dawn dish soap is sold under the name of "fairy". I also hear that Costco in Australia now carries Dawn dish soap. Thanks!
That turned out really nice. Will you do something to the inside of the drawers, like wax or oil before you sell it? Are you having good luck selling refurbished wood furniture pieces in your area? Curious because painted pieces sell much better for me.🌸
Yes, we use Howard Feed & Wax on the drawers and the inside of the cabinet. We just don't always have time to show it. We should mention it though!😀 Wood and painted both sell pretty good in our area. Thanks Deborah!
How do I prevent the drawers from rubbing on each other when opening and closing? Like, the bottom of the top drawer is rubbing the top of the 2nd drawer and chipping off the veneer

If you use steel wool, make sure it is 0000 steel wool. This is the fine steel wool and won't scratch the brass if you go easy....Thanks!
