JPS needs to be more proactive than reactivate. Chop down tree limbs and trees that are threatening to power lines. The government needs to allow residents to bring in solar energy equipment duty-free and partner with the private sector to manufacture solar panels and batteries in Jamaica. For a country that has so much sunshine, the dependence on JPS is too much and needs to be significantly reduced. All street lights should be powered by solar energy. I know that this will be a large undertaking, but serious consideration and actions need to be taken to start running electrical wires underground. God bless you Mr. PM. Please lead the nation with God's righteousness. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

I was once a PNP but now twice a labourite!! ▪︎ Under Pain P tax would a kill we ▪︎ Under JLP no new tax for the last 7 years ▪︎ Under Pain P after their 19+ years in office, unemployment rate was as high as 13.2 % ▪︎ Under JLP in just 7 years in office, unemployment rate is reduced to 4.2%, the lowest it has been since independence ▪︎ Over 156,000 more new jobs have been created in just 7 years under the JLP ▪︎ Under Pain P, for many years Jamaicans got only US$500 duty free allowance on personal items upon returning to Jamaica. ▪︎ Under JLP, after just 7 years in power, brogad along with Nigel Clarke (the best finance minister jamaica has ever seen) doubled that to US$1,000. Brogad gives every ordinary Jamaicans duty free allowance of up to US1,000 on personal items everytime they return from a trip abroad.
Unfortunately the electricity has taken a while to be replaced however this should remind people there was a time when we did not have electricity and we survived. So they must have that resilience to survive this until the electricity is returned because we have become a spoiled Nation because of our location this could happen again.
