Probably could have been sub 5'20" if I had went for the round slash at the end. Even lower if I didn't do that 3rd sharpen, it is definitely not needed. Oh well, the AI grind for this run is too insane for me to try and get those seconds back with a better run.
The build is arbitrarily different from 5 Safi, probably 2-3% damage difference...in either direction. Honestly can't tell. Unfortunately for tradeblade, the Fatalis meta did not bring many changes to this fight.
I don't think Felyne Medic works, it's just there to make me feel better.

You can avoid without any EW, it's just a matter of timing. More EW will give you more....window to do that.
I love charge blade my problem was i couldn't get the guard point timing down still a great weapon though
This need lot of practice and learning of monsters attack, for playing this weapon for around 350h (ps4+pc) i begin to have good timing for this but need more practice haha
Okay... am I just extremely unlucky? I've done like 10 runs because I wanted to learn him with cb... and this is what happened in every single one of them, he enrages, at some point goes for his ray, I guard point, element discharge and he does grab. Obviously at that point I'm a sitting duck and grab while enraged is basically a death sentence. I don't understand if that's some sort of input reading or I'm just that unlucky that flash pods are mandatory for me at this point if I want to survive more than 1 minute
You're not unlucky, that's the nature of this match up. Don't forget you're watching a speedrun, not a let's play or a guide! I reset this quest for countless hours to get a run like this, and even this run has two grab attempts. I just got lucky that I wasnt going for an AED in one and Phial damage broke his enrage in the other.
If you're dying from being grabbed, then work on getting some more defense from better armor sets (Fatalis) and Health augment for your weapon (Guiding Lands). If you're speedrunning, just keep the resets coming.
Speedrunners go for risky strats or even trade hits to shave off time. Watching these videos for some insight into how to fight a monster is fine, but don't take it as a survival guide.
@@theophan Yea I thought some of those AEDs looked a bit gamba. How many hours of resets did you need for this one?
Too many. Too long ago to remember now but I would guess 50-80 hours.

why the Guard 5 and Attack Boost 5? not Artillery or something else
Need Guard 5 to get low knockback and be able to counter AED some of Rajang's attacks. Artillery does not effect elemental phials, only impact phials! So it's not useful for this hunt
Power Prolonger is good for this run, I think @miraboreas uses it and gets a faster time than this run!
Focus is good for quality of life, but I don't think it will save you any time if you have to trade damage skills to fit it

Ok so i gotta know do you have to do the Gpoints for the Aed because you couldn't fit the Guard in the set orrr what?
The set has Guard 5 and Guard Up, so I'm not sure what you're saying! Doing Guard Points for Aed still lowers knockback and helps you hit the AED. Guard Points also do damage. They're always preferred

@@forglory8447 if you compare g-rank weapon stats to master rank weapon stats, you will see Master rank weapon having way bigger numbers. This is because world equipment have bloated values, likely to differentiate and show how much weapons deal damage in their attacks (you will see this when comparing the attack values shown on a great sword vs the attack values shown on dual blades).

No armor mods! My layered is completely available in game and is shown at the end
