Technically speaking, gold is a rather dense element, meaning 3 pounds of it isn't "a lot" per say like something that is not dense, like say hydrogen, (think of 3 pounds of solid hydrogen) it would be a lot more to eat because it is very light. When I was 12 I chewed a kebab stick and swallowed a splinter, which got stuck in my throat.
