Yeah. Having a security item double as loot in a game where thieves will steal any loot they find is maybe not a good idea. Hopefully the game will get a big patch to address such oddities.
Honestly, while the lack of proper loot tooltips is a bit frustrating, I've been finding a good amount of fun in just plonking loot down and trying to figure out what it does myself.
Tell me what loot you've found and what it does. I only know what the Sands of Time actually does. The rest so far don't make sense to me, other than the Flying Pig which restores stats on use, I think.

Which gives soldiers a temporary HP regen buff but makes them easier to trick by agents. 3. The Sword in the Stone, which my soldiers occasionally use and then they get a thought bubble about it but no status effect in their character sheet. But nonetheless I wonder if it makes them deal extra damage 4. Cupids Arrow, which is a trap that does... something? I haven't been able to test this one enough. 5. The Declaration of Independence, which raises your henchmens morale if they use it. Makes a great centerpiece to my mess hall.
@@cookiecakeeater6340 many of modded rts, strategy, and sim builders get around this all the time. Dlc should not be the excuse to not add mod support, mod support keeps games alive far beyond developers.

Probably because triggering side-stories also have side effects. Like that "Too hot" mission gradually lowers the morale of your minion workforce until they desert you en masse. And another makes your equipment randomly malfunction. Stack them all up and you have complete pandemonium. I just think of Side-stories as episodes of a cartoon.
Thinking about how Excalibur is a return from the first game got me to thinking about that dang Totem, and then the narrator brings it up at the end. Totem confirmed.
honestly sandbox should do away with the henchmen cap, because with the campaign I can get why you can't have all the henchmen but in sandbox? sandbox is supposed to be the fun play around with the stuff in game mode.
Kinda wish we didn't need a video for this, not that I don't like discovering what loot does occasionally, but sometimes the lack of info really is annoying. I'd really like to know what the Meditation stone does besides interrupt my minion's routine and drain their smarts by 10 when they use it.
@@tzeneth You've probably figured it out, but- Suspicion is gained when an Agent gets into your Lair proper, and can see your evil machinations, such as your evil power sources, and your minion gathering places.

What individual items give suspicion, so that I could know what items need to be deeper in the base and what items could be more towards the front. The thing is, because agents will stay there forever unless you drain the relevant stat and aren't on a timer, like the first game, my original idea of doing what I did in the first game is pointless (first game: have an open plan near the front where the agents can investigate and find nothing suspicious)
This game need to do mutch more explaining ingame, more information, how things work and what things do. Dont wanna have to quit the game tp google something thats not explained.

Hell, even one of Rebellion's own video about base building joke about the urge to micro-manage every pot of plants in the base. While I agree we should find out what the mysterious items does, it should not be through trial and errors. Hell, we play as the Evil *Genius* so you would think they can figure it out with a few tests. So do just that! Add a side research project for each of the item, and once it is completed you can see the full description and effects of what it does. This is how I think these Loots should be handled anyway.

Hey, the huge stone heads on Easter Island are just the top bit of whole statues, where's the rest of the thing? And when do we get to do multi-floor rooms, I want to put stairs, a slide and a ball pit in the mess hall. And when do I get to put vending machines in the halls so the minions can grab a bag of peanuts and not have to hit the lunch room so often? Also I want upgraded versions of the vending machines that will shoot any user who does not have a valid minion ID card.
I dont know if you read the comments but maybe side-grade versions of items? So instead of example the compact lockers being better than lockers when you unlock them you have an item that wont get used so maybe variants instead? Ones that wont cause heat but have slightly lower stats? Id feel the more items means you can specialize rooms and have more options for creativity. And for the love of Red Ivan more prison cell types!!

Has anyone been able to find steal all the loot in one playthrough, on my second play through I made sure to complete the loot side stories before progressing with the main, but do you have to complete the crime lords and super agents side stories as well to unlock more loot missions before progressing further in the main quest?
Please let allow us choose weapons for muscle minions like allow guards and mercenaries only pick up clubs and pistols while martial artist only choose heavy staffs and hitmen only use rifles. It's annoying that mercenaries picked up rifles and staffs let inly clubs and pistols for MAs and hitmen. And let us choose patrol zones for henchmen.
Which loot allows me to put mannequins at the evil meeting desk? I want the satisfaction of having all chairs filled and I can’t do it with regular henchmen
So far the charity piggy bank is my favourite. Why? Because it adds well paying and short-timed schemes for uh... "charity". Perfect to boost ones vault, err I mean... be charitable and help poor saps.

You didn't say the loot mission is tied to henchman , you execute one , you no longer gain access to those loot mission , there goes my all loot get achievement....
@@rowmacnezumi8953 Well like i said , specific loots are tied to a henchman , if you gonna do the achievement run you gotta execute one or two to unlock those loot mission , also there is that recruit all henchman achievement which also required you to execute your henchman to make room for a new one . You can only have 5 of them at a time .
my GF and me made a layer that is totally hands off using our IRL skills and my evil genius skills. My GF is a webdesigner, and im a sysadmin. We still have not unlock tair 3 research 8/ but the base is done B)
i'm surprised they don't have in-game information about the game effects of loot. descriptions of equipment show what they do, so i don't think it's a desire break immersion by talking about game mechanics [if they want to keep it partially a mystery, maybe associate a short research project with each loot item. after i yell at my scientists to determine what good the thing is :-)]
I try and avoid leaving any criticism on vids, but I got to say, this video was a head scratcher. You made a video about loot items which is pretty smart as I am sure that is a highly searched aspect of the game since release. However, you then decided to show off pretty much the most well known and obvious loot effects rather than the ones people are still trying to figure out. You had an opportunity to clarify some things and wasted it. Don't know, guess I am just a bit disappointed. My base was struck with a sickness that drained my minions' heath, and instead of researching a cure, Zalika stole the Fountain of Youth. It fully heals all my minions' health, but makes them dumber and less likely to see disguised agents.
@@umbraccoon It absolutely is worth it. It actually gives minions using it a health boost beyond their normal maximum, and higher-level muscle minion can still see through most agent disguises. Also, your Henchmen or the Genius themselves will automatically unmask any disguised agents that get near them, period. And you can order them around directly, unlike the minions.
The loot in this game is next to useless and for the most part, a huge waste of time and effort. It's a time-sink and is likely designed to be that way to artificially inflate the amount of time spent in-game. I just spent a long time getting a block of ice for example that has the special effect of "extinguishing fires around it" in about a 3x3 block radius. That's terrible because not only is fire not that common a problem in the game but the area covered is abysmal. The item itself is huge and wastes a lot of space. Not to mention that during the side story a "heat wave" is slowly draining the morale of your minions, which is just frustrating. Another item, the "Sands of time" has the effect of repairing 2-3 items around it from time to time. Oh... yay. 2-3 items.... how generous! A single technician has to hustle to keep up with this "amazing" piece of loot. Not worth the time invested at all... A third loot item "The flying pig" lets your minions ride it like a kiddie-ride to restore their morale. Sounds great, right? Well... one minion at a time only... and it takes forever.... We have better items in the lair that restore morale quicker. Useless.
EG2 is a much better game than EG1 but oooof. I've never played a game that was such a roller coaster of amazing creative ideas and polished aesthetic and bafflingly amateur design oversights and bluntly terrible presentation of information...since the first Evil Genius. Making Evil Genius 2 EXACTLY like Evil Genius 1 in many ways, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea! Fix Symmetry! Her path finding or her goons HP or be a little more creative on how "she gets in." Also why can she STEAL THE DOOR?!
Minions don't use the resolve stat... This is why i hate it when social media influencers and vloggers to market your product. They have no idea what they're talking about, just gusts of hot air and vaccuous statements.
Why the game hide the details about the Loot? I didn't play the Evil Genius 1, but I bought this one, and I really miss the lack of information, and to say the truth, I'm really hating to keep track and search every region in Global Scheme to see the contracts and find idle regions. But, even with lots of bugs, I really love it the base building gameplay. For me, the magic of the game is here, and not in the until now, very BORING Global Scheme gameplay.
Would there be the ability for a multiplayer mode? Like... you can fight other evil geniuses in a 2-4 player game and dominate the world while competing to become the TOP evil genius in the game!
@@msparasol2211 Ivan is shooting rockets with his bare hands non-stop. I'm trying to play hard mode but it's really easy mode since he can kill anyone with 2 seconds. Also one of the agents can't be captured nor killed she's stuck. Then there are a lot of problems with missions. Minions get stuck etc. and I think others are having issues with missions as well.
U guys posting 2 vid weekly but still can't get around to fixing essential bugs that render your game unplayable for the vast portion of players. I wanna cut u a slack i really do but for some reason i got that disturbing feeling that i just threw 60 bucks down the drain.
People making videos are different from people working on the games, plus game was released on last wednesday and we had easter in between. That kinda means they only had 3 working days.
How is that a customer's problem that they released this game on the weekend eve and therefore had only 3 working days. @@TheShadesOfBlack The flying pig also restores morale. The yeti prevents fires. no idea what dr.hydes table does.
I really love this game and hope it gets Workshop mod support on Steam. I think it'd benefit from it as much as XCOM2 has.

Think pre-order gives you 2 more loot items to steal - Fountain of Youth(gives minions boost to stats) and Trojan horse(unsure what it does).
Trojan horse gives you special missions on the world map. They pay about 100k each and are a good boost early on.

It almost sounds like having the fountain of youth is not worth it... at all.

Why the game hide the details about the Loot?
I didn't play the Evil Genius 1, but I bought this one, and I really miss the lack of information, and to say the truth, I'm really hating to keep track and search every region in Global Scheme to see the contracts and find idle regions.
But, even with lots of bugs, I really love it the base building gameplay.
For me, the magic of the game is here, and not in the until now, very BORING Global Scheme gameplay.
Would there be the ability for a multiplayer mode?
Like... you can fight other evil geniuses in a 2-4 player game and dominate the world while competing to become the TOP evil genius in the game!

@@msparasol2211 Ivan is shooting rockets with his bare hands non-stop. I'm trying to play hard mode but it's really easy mode since he can kill anyone with 2 seconds. Also one of the agents can't be captured nor killed she's stuck. Then there are a lot of problems with missions. Minions get stuck etc. and I think others are having issues with missions as well.
Way to only cover a very small portion of the "loot" available in the game. Wasted 7 min of my life quick

U guys posting 2 vid weekly but still can't get around to fixing essential bugs that render your game unplayable for the vast portion of players. I wanna cut u a slack i really do but for some reason i got that disturbing feeling that i just threw 60 bucks down the drain.
People making videos are different from people working on the games, plus game was released on last wednesday and we had easter in between. That kinda means they only had 3 working days.
How is that a customer's problem that they released this game on the weekend eve and therefore had only 3 working days. This game should be polished and totally playable from the release or be marked as a an Early access if u have bugs . Comon i duel thee to the steam discussion section oooo we gonna decimate you utterly and sheerly for standing up for them
