  • Many cars still use the FlySky AFHDS protocol so I decided to fix my old transmitter.
    The box of switches I use www.banggood.com/custlink/vKm...
    This will also work www.banggood.com/custlink/3GK...

    I like how youve modded it with permanent pins for easy updating. I wish I had thought of this when I updated my GT3C a while back.

    Ditched mine while ago, button press worked but scroll went all over the place. It was such good radio for price couple years back but with its current price and same old problems deffo tx to avoid.

    Had the same problem with one of the trim buttons but none of those switches at hand. I think in the end I moved a less used switch. Might get me one of those switch assortiments.

    My issue is the scroll wheel going crazy. But since I've sold most of my RC now, I'm looking at getting extra rx's for my radiolink and ditch the flysky.

      The scroll wheel is already difficult to use in the first place. I guess this rotary encoder goes bad over time too. For entry-level transmitter I still trust Radiolink the most. I mean the Flysky G7P is really good but I still don't go to the track with it. Not until I can fix the random restart problem.

    Well done beaver! Very useful video🙂, After i got your help to update the GT3C transmitter i didn't get to use the controller much because the enter button stopped working properly on the wheel; I have the same issue & was thinking for some time how to solve it and just saw your video! I'll resolder to the newer switch once i order it from that link.Thanks!

      Glad to be of help. For the switch on banggood, check the availability first. If it doesn't say In Stock or Shipped within 1-3 days, don't buy it. It's not in stock and the wait time can be really long.

      @@BeaversHobby ah ok, thanks for the info👍🏻, will check its available in stock before ordering, (i remember once i purchased an rc car from bangood and it never came even after a month so had to cancel the order, was probably out of stock)

      I ordered the other set in the link you put as the one you ordered wasnt in stock. The set i got doesnt have enough switches as your set, only has one batch of switches which fit for the replacement switch

      About the switch kit, at least there's something you can work with. Mine is the same, I just keep the other switches for other projects that I might do.

    Hey thanks for your work, I'm new at the 1/28 drift cars, I'm thinking to buy hdg1. do you recommend this for beginner or another kit?
    Thank you a lot

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      HGD1 is ok but you can do much better for roughly the same money. Take a look at BMR-X. It will be 1/24 scale so a bit bigger than HGD1 or Mini-Z but you can use any plastic model kit for a body.

      @@BeaversHobby and between GLD and BMR-x which you recommend?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carlosmariscal7348 They are quite different, GLD is 1/28 intended primarily to use with Mini-Z body. BMR-X is strictly 1/24 for plastic scale model as a body. While BMR-X is easier to drive, some of the parts like ball caps are way more fragile. Out of the BOX GLD is alright, it will need some upgrades to make it a fantastic car. So I think it all comes down to whether you like 1/28 or 1/24 and which is available for you to buy. Personally I'd go for GLD because it's available in Europe without having to wait for lengthy shipping from Asia.

      @@BeaversHobby I really appreciate your advice!! I'm a bit confuse about drz, gld ,BMR-x and drift art ( I think drift art would be the best but is impossible to find now) I will continue looking reviews and trying to go into the hobby thanks you help me a lot!

    You said 2 years ago that the best mini z body for k989 was the Camaro zl1 mzn199, however here in Brazil is very hard to buy mini z cars, so I couldn’t find this body, but I found the already painted version, do you think it fits like the non painted version?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      The body is the same whether painted or unpainted so yes, it'll fit.

    hello ! can you try to converting wltoys transmitter or any transmitter to use power bank for power supply transmitter indeed battery AA ?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      That can be done but I don't think I'll do it though. Using lipo is way easier.
      The basic is that a power bank usually outputs 5V.
      You might need a DC to DC step up converter since WLtoys transmitter runs on 6V. You can try and connect power wires from USB to the transmitter directly if it turns on. If not, it'll need a step up.

    • @user-xy5nh3nw4o
      @user-xy5nh3nw4o ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BeaversHobby Thank to reply me But after i post i try it with my self it won't work as you said. im' back to rechargeable AA battery as before. i'm just curious i see in manual dumborc they write can use power supply 5v first of all i think it is power bank but im misunderstand.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@user-xy5nh3nw4o Check if it triggers the powerbank to output anything. If there's no charging circuit to trigger the powerbank then it might not send anything out.
      Anyway if it runs on 4x AA then the nominal voltage for NiMH is 4.8V and any powerbank can do that. If it needs 6 batteries then the powerbank won't work directly.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mainly do indoor driving so I don't know how far it can really go. Still, if it's under 100M then I think there's a problem with the transmitter or the antenna.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@reclamartsmetalart420 Yep, that's definitely something wrong with either on the transmitter side or the receiver side. If it does that on all receivers then your Tx module might have a transmitting issue which unfortunately can't be fixed easily (or possibly ever). Sorry to hear that but I guess if you can find a use for it then it's not a total loss.
