A road trip to Y Ty

בתאריכים 15-16 ביולי 2023, החלטתי סוף סוף לקחת את הזמן וללכת ולחקור את אזור Y Ty ששמעתי עליו במשך זמן כה רב ומעולם לא הקדשתי את הזמן לבקר בו. Y Ty הוא אזור הררי על הגבול עם סין מצפון לסאפה. בעיקר רמות גבוהות בגובה של למעלה מ-2000 מטר מעל פני הים. הסיפורים סיפרו שיש הרבה טרסות אורז יפות, הרים יפים והרבה טבע אותנטי שעדיין לא נהרס מתיירות . זהו אזור לא מפותח שממשלת וייטנאם תייגה כ"סאפה הבאה" ולכן מאוד רציתי לבדוק אותו.
נסעתי ללאו קאי ברכבת מהאנוי, ומשם שכרתי אופנוע ונסעתי ל-Y Ty. לא היה לי מושג שאני צריך אישור ללינה ב-Y Ty, ולכן סירבו לקבל אותי בכל ההוסטלים שבדקתי בכניסה ל-Y Ty, ולא הייתה לי ברירה אלא למצוא פתרון חלופי באמצע הלילה, רק כדי לבחור אם להמשיך למחרת בבוקר בדרך נוראית עמוק ורחוק יותר, פנימה, אל תוך Y Ty, או לצאת לחפש מפל יפהפה ששמעתי עליו. מכיוון שנותר לי רק יום אחד, ותחזית מזג האוויר חזתה גשם בימים הקרובים בחרתי באפשרות השנייה, ולא התאכזבתי.

on the 15-16 of July 2023, I decided to finally take the time and go and explore the Y Ty area I heard about for such a long time and never took the time to go and visit it. Y Ty is an area on the border with China north of Sapa, that is mostly highlands at an altitude of over 2000m above sea level. The stories told that there are many beautiful rice terraces, beautiful mountains and yet, untouched beauty. This is an undeveloped area that the Vietnamese government labeled as the "next Sapa" and so I really wanted to check it out.
I headed to Lao Cai by train from Hanoi, and from there rented a motorbike and drove to Y Ty. I had no idea that I needed a permit to stay overnight in Y Ty, and so I was denied acceptance by all the hostels I checked at the entrance to Y Ty, and had no choice but to find an alternative solution in the middle of the night, only to have to choose whether to continue in the next morning on a horrible road deeper and farther into Y Ty, or go look for a beautiful waterfall I heard about, Since I had only one day left, and the weather forecast predicted rain in the coming days, I chose the latter option, and was not disappointed.

In minute 7:20' when I write in the subtitles that this is actually not Y Ty yet, I am mistaken, and this beautiful valleys is indeed Y Ty already

Thank's for your vidéo, and the subtile, lot of informations, i will try to go there soon, as i understand you have to make the permit in lao cai and u have to ask homestay owner before go, to write where you will stay in Y Ty, maybe it will work, maybe not haha
