I did this with a 1229 a while back and it does indeed test one's patience. But it is a great feeling of satisfaction when it's done isn't it!

Thanks so much for this! I have a 1019 with a motor whir I've been afraid to try and fix. Feeling better about giving it a shot now.

What about lubrication for the upper motor bearing; you only did the lower?

Thanks a lot the video was very helpful and worked well for me. It was not necessary for me to disconnect the wires of the motor. Unfortunately the speed adjustment of the idle wheel is now misaligned. Have to put the switch to 16 to play a 33 and it's a tad to slow. Any advice how to fix that. Cheers

My 1009 I can't get the tone arm set right ... push the start lever and it will cycle and just shut off... if I hold the start lever until the arm moves then it will work , the little hook that keeps the TT on slips off the loop when I push to start ... if I adjust it just a hair ... the hook wont get pushed off by the arm at the end of the cycle , so it will just run continually ...

I watched your video and have a question for you if you dont mind. I have the 1009 sk2 and when the idler arm contacts the motor it makes quite a bit of noise. spin the idler arm or motor by themselves and you dont hear anything. I think it is the contact between the two making all the racket but not sure what I can do about it. Almost feel like the idler arm should have some type of rubber band that goes around it. Any ideas? Thanks

Perhaps the Idler might have hardened with age. Good luck
