One thing we can all agree on, it was never as good when it went from the piano breakbeats style hardcore into the more Rotterdam sounding happy hardcore.
I was there working with the Mighty Rythmic State Crew. Awesome days. This was for me the last of the Rezerections just before it went completely off the scale with the gabba nonsense & crap DJs like Hixxy & Brisk compared to Dave Angel & Joey Beltram & Carl Cox we got these DJs playing the same crap after 94/95. 🕊️🙌🕊️
@@vhsarchives357Anytime my friend. I’ve got many many crazy stories touring with bands like the prodigy N’Joi Dj Carl Cox Bass Generator Dave Angel You name them I’ve been there very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a great band & having all the best gigs at that time we were always on the flyers & the lineup for the best nights at that time of the scene. Before that I was 14 in early 1991 when I went to my First rave which was the Glasgow Hacienda then all the huge outdoor events like all the Rezerection shows & even before Rezerection I attended Streetrave fantazia Evolution Universe very lucky to have meet all the DJs & PA’s & experience as a raver first & then seeing it from the backstage VIP DJS & promoters side. So any questions about anything if I have the answers I’ll happily relive those magical times. Respect Due. 🕊️🤯👍
@@vhsarchives357 The song by the Rythmic State called Rock Hard Trooper on The Another World Ep which was Rythmic States first big release which had soap on a rope first edition & the track creator which was remixed by Bass Genertor they dedicated that song to me Gavin! I was only 17 years old and was sitting backstage with the likes of the Prodigy N’Joi Shades Of Rythem etc All the biggest DJs Carl Cox Grooverider Joey Beltram Dj Rap etc, who I fell in love with instantly. 😂. But I was so young that it just seemed normal to me. Not until my friends were all at the gigs wishing they had the opportunity I had & being asked for autographs etc was all very common but weird for me. Awesome times bro. I started raving at the Hacienda in Glasgow in March 91 as a 14 year old with my big brothers ID to get into these places. @@vhsarchives357 Yeah bro it was an amazing time to be involved in the scene at that time as it had completely exploded around that time with so many huge events and clubs everywhere every week we played sometimes as much as 5/6 gigs every Friday Saturday and sometimes even Sunday nights The Rhythmic State had that period when we were playing every big event in Scotland Ireland & the North East of England. A top band live. Halcyon Days bro. 👊
I was born 1990 my mum went to all the indoor Rez's. I always asked if I could come yeah I was a kid 😂 wish there was time machines I'd be straight back to the 90s starting 1st January 1990
I still have my ticket for this …..first rave I ever went to…Amazing times ….told me mam I was staying at a friends house lol…we jumped on the coach and off we went …to this day I never told her haha..was only 16 at the time
As a hard raver in the early 90s in SF, there will never be another time like it.. I just hope they were playing better music than this. Looks like they were dancing at around 120-130bpm
Rezerection played a lot of styles of music, this is bouncy techno, something that came out of the death of the English rave scene. Scotland had its own sound, lots of early techno, trance, hardcore,Gabber & bouncy techno. I was at this party the atmosphere was the main thing, the music had its moments, but I prefer other styles particularly as I got older. I was 18 at this Rez and 17 at the new years one the pervious year. There was a lot of youthful energy at the party’s rather than the older crowds at techno & house party’s which were more sophisticated. Rez was very working class & energetic.
Does anyone know who owns this footage? The V&A Dundee are looking for footage from Scottish clubs/raves over the last 40 years for a film that'll be shown in March 21' and this is all perfect! Please email me on timknightsfilm@@t if you have any clues.
I pay no attention to the new Rez as it has none other than TTFs Jon Campbell as it owner who is a prick and reduced it to a joke. He plagiarised the real Rez passed it on as if he done it all. The real Rezerection never booked TTF once, not once.
You're either too young or just jealous...or both. No bams back then, we would come down from Aberdeen, folk from Edinburgh, Glasgow, England and all over...no problems whatsoever...the Mitsu's prob helped! 😂
Lots of us from Glasgow used to go to Hangar/Metro/Rez and it was phenomenal. The music was at its best between 90-97. Happy hardcore & techno was at its best. Gabba was never as popular in Scotland, it was not as good as real rave music & you could never dance to it!! They were happy, brilliant days and I can't believe the years have gone by so fast!!

This stuff was still great. It's when all that "Bonkers" rubbish appeared, hardcore died. And don't get me started on "Hardstyle"...
Thank God somebody back in the day had the sense to film these events fs !! 😂😂😂
It was DVcrewScotland that filmed all these. Loads of stuff on their official channel.
