“This may not be a happy ending for Waldo Wigglesworth, but it is a happy ending for Hoppity, Fillmore and their new friend Gobo the Mole People. Be sure to dig your way to a brand new chapter next time for the further adventures of ‘Hoppity Hooper!’”
An underground creature named Gobo.....Jim Henson and his head writer Jerry Juhl were influenced by Jay Ward among others... quite serendipitous indeed.
This show may have been consciously aimed at children, but it is still a very entertaining J Ward show. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jay Ward fans dating back to “Rocky and his friends“ enjoyed watching the show as well. It wasn’t quite as witty as the former, but it was so much fun. Let’s bring it to DVD someday!!
Poor Waldo, he ran away from the full of diamonds, but now he lost the All of diamonds he found, look like he and his pals were from king and his mole folks at home.
With whom? The non-celeb voice cast (well, Hans Conreid, "Waldo ", debatab;e exception as he was pretty well known LOL) Hans Conreid, Chris Allen and uncredited Bill Scott have all passed (Chris, maybe not..)..Nancy Cartwright, if you want just voice actorsa would be close with that pitch and Jay Ward was doing cartoons from 1957-58 when she was born, such as Rocky, but I wonder who could do them.
@@tsitracommunications2884 Yeah,I even got the core cast laid out... Eli Fucile-Hoppity Hooper Bryan Cranston-Waldo Wigglesworth John Cena-Fillmore Bear Holly Hunter-Susan Swivelhips
"You really think people would like to spend time underground, Uncle Waldo?"
"Everybody does sooner or later, Hoppity."
"Eh, but on purpose?" XD!

I really doubt it was consciously aimed at children. Maybe it was supposed to be, but Jay Ward's humor was more universal.
There is a low-budget DVD release from the 2000s that I happen to have. Distributed by East West.
