Amazing scenery Nick ... Looks like there is a lot of beetle kill in the area ... Really liked the time lapsed video at the lake ... Thanks for sharing ...
Beautiful area. At the 11:29 mark your mother was walking up trail. What direction were you showing. I guess west or west southwest? No high peaks in the distance. Maybe Steamboat way out in the distance? I try to follow some of your hikes on google maps as I sit in my little Ozark cabin 800 miles from there.
Great video of an area many people don't explore. Such different topography compared to RMNP& Indian Peaks Wilderness. We just did Snow Lake, American Lakes trail, last Saturday. I've watched some of your videos where you do some summits right close by.
I love you videos! You have given me so many ideas and places to go! I know you do some solo hikes, which I have not done yet. I just worry about the what if's. I currently go once a week with my hiking buddy, but I am itching to go more! Any recommendations or things I might not think about as a solo hiker? BTW, we went up and did Medicine Bow Peak thanks to your videos. 😁
Thanks Meekin! When I am by myself I am just extra careful. I got the bad knee so I have to pay attention with each step. When I get on the rocks I start moving like a cat. I never come down with my weight on something until I know its solid. For example, I wont go hopping across the rocks. I dont like all that body weight coming down at once. And I am also extra careful in those early morning hours when its still kind of dark. Thats when the animals are out eating. I walked up on a bear once at like 4am. Kinda scary.
@@josephbrecheisen6339 I think Im going for Pettingel on mon, camping and maybe Silver Plume on Tues. I was thinking about Castle Rock in RMNP but I just did part of that area last week and I dont want to go back so soon. And Im just not feelin MLW. Other than a few monster hikes there isnt anything on this east side of RMNP that I havent done. I need to get to the west side while we have summer weather for some new ones.
@comicpeak4560 I'm really not sure. It is a Wilderness Area and you have to go through a pay station to get in there. But there is dispersed car camping allowed off the roads so I don't know.
Nice video, glad to take a peak at this one. I’m staying in SFSP next weekend and planning my hikes

Looks like a hike worth doing someday.
Plus you can add on Clark Peak just above it for a super epic day. I will be going back to attempt it at some point.

@@nicksangetta8874 Thanks! Maybe I will try hikes I know are more populated to get used to it. Happy Hiking!
I spent a summer in Gould working for the Colorado State Forest State Park cutting timber. Great area! Rarely sees many people too!
I think Clark Peak is calling your name!
Im gonna get it one of these days! Probably missed my window for this year though.
@@nicksangetta8874 yea true would be a good start to next season of hiking though.

I've rolled joints on roads like that...
Do you know if you are allowed to backpack and camp up there

@@nicksangetta8874 ok thank you
Are you sure that's not a tarn??
The maps called it Jewel Lake.. the signs in the area called it Ruby Jewel Lake, but maybe its a tarn. I dont know.
Rolly Rocks????? You can roll a joint while you roll all your joints.....Rescue Teams can follow the smell....just be sure to share with Rescuers
