I knew very little about this game before the stream, but this game looks like a fun, relaxing adventure. I can see why this game would be a comfort game for you. Did not expect such a lively and vibrant world to take place in a post-apocalyptic setting, a far cry from a lot of other stories typically found in this type of setting. Also, find it funny that your first nemesis in this game came from cutting down a cactus near town. The Dark Souls-esque combat was a surprise, even more surprised that you can spar with a number of the named characters. The English voice direction for this game was also better than what I was expecting. Your excitement for some of the romanceable characters was adorable! Your reaction to Unsuur's English voice is especially a highlight, and I don't blame you one bit for reacting that way! I see you picked back up the habit of taking pictures of the characters that interest you, gotta save those memories, after all. So many husbandos for you to choose, though I'm uncertain if you've met all of the romanceable NPCs or if there are still more to be discovered. I'm curious as to whether you've already locked in on who you want to try to romance, or if you're still looking around and seeing what your options are? Thank you for the stream as always, Shiori! I had mostly kept myself in the dark about this game, but I knew that you would pick up the Love Chronicles DLC the second I saw it was a thing. Not going into details so you can experience it yourself if you pursue either of them, but just in case you didn't know, both Logan and Fang have extra content with that DLC. It was absolutely adorable seeing you get so excited over Unsuur's voice and I'm glad to see the return of you taking more screenshots too~ I do have mixed feelings about Pen being compared to Ortega even though they do look quite similar. After all, Pen doesn't have Ortega's gorgeous mustache~Real talk though, I was pleasantly surprised to see just how unique the characters are! I honestly have no clue what it is about you and Sandrock, but you've unironically had some amazing comedic timing playing it~ One of my favorite parts about how you've been playing the game so far has been when you fight literally anyone you see if there's an option, especially at 1:04:24 where you fought the pastor despite saying you shouldn't just a couple of seconds prior. It still really impresses me how well you hold your own against the townsfolk who were at a considerably higher level than your own. As for the part at 1:10:04 where you asked us if we thought you could voice anything, at this exact point in time I could picture you playing the role of a narrator, storyteller, or a librarian, so mostly characters with a calm demeanor for now. To be honest, I do believe that you are good at making the dialogue you read for scripts come across as natural and sound like "You." Just look at your audio dramas and voice packs for examples of that. I'm not an amateur, let alone a professional voice actor by any means, but I would recommend looking into learning from a voice over coach if you're interested in exploring your range and how to portray different types of characters or emotions though. You legit have very good potential, so I wish you nothing but the best should this turn out to be something you decide to pursue, Shiori.
FINALLY!! After so many years! We finally get My Time At Sandrock and it’s fun! I really like the art direction and especially the voice acting in the game. So far my favorite voice actor was “Grace” in English as she sounded very mature and hot. I also find it very dorky how you constantly swapped between the language dubs of English and Chinese The gameplay is pretty similar to My Time At Portia obviously, but it definitely feels more polished. I am interested to see where the characters go from here. I do like the cast so far. It was quite amusing to see you challenge anyone and everyone to battle with your silly little oversized / tiny Cowboy hat! Your feud with with you anemememesis Burgess was some of the best parts of the stream! On sight, you would call him a POS just because you cut one Cactus Tree! Btw that cactus tree will respawn probably after 6 days in game I think. ---------- Potential Romances! -------------- In prechat, we discussed which boys you would end up falling for in the end. So far, we narrowed it into Fang and Ernest. However, we completely forgot to include Logan’s mysterious outlaw ass in there. Personally, I’m still rooting on you going for Ernest. However, it would be really jokes for you to marry Burgess just for the memes Unsuur is also cool but he seems a bit aloof and in his own world. His English voice is nice. I was quite surprised that you were kinda interested in Owen despite his facial hair. This game is very interesting. I low key think instead of being called a builder, it should be a battler! The fact this game is a harvest moon like farming game, but has the option of duke it out in a dark souls inspired combat is very entertaining to me. I hope I can give it a go someday! Thank you for the stream! I was not familiar with the franchise at all other than what you said in passing, but this game looks genuinely really nice! The life sim angle isn't exactly my expertise, but the voice acting is splendid, the character designs have a ton of charm and personality... I was surprised by how genuinely neat the combat looks, and the ability to duel anyone you meet is amazing. Also didn't know it's a post-apocalypse setting; I'm interested in learning more about that too It's nice that all the men sound hot. big fan of that. I didn't know anything about the game aside from you sharing your experiences with the previous title, the one in Portia, as well as your excitement for this one. Experiencing it through your eyes, and I think it's a pretty interesting game. I think the characters are pretty interesting, and the voice acting for both dubs were pretty good. The setting, even if I'm not a big fan of deserts myself, I kind of like the wild western feel this game gives off. Also I think it was mentioned very briely, but I thought I heard that this series takes place in a post apocalypse? If so this is quite the interesting take to make a setting after one, as when I usually hear Post Apocalypse, I imagine things to look and feel dreary and baren. So to see that enough time has passed that people are able to live semi-comfortably again is kinda cool to me. Thanks for sharing a nice comfy experience, I look forward to the next time if you ever decide to revisit this for a stream someday later on. I'm not to familiar with the series, but it looks like it's a really enjoyable game so far between the various mechanics, and at least listening in for the majority of it, it was a pretty relaxing and cozy time with some chaos and ass beating interjected in between. I think if anything, today's stream taught me that beating people up is more efficient than doing your job if Burgess is any indication. As for the Chinese, you were pretty close to saying and it was pretty good. It just the tones can be difficult. Both the wǒ and xĭ have a v-shaped pitch to it where you start flat, let the pitch fall and rise again before you finish enunciating the character, and the fàn has a sharp falling pitch. The VA's did such a good job with this game. I had to miss parts due to bleh work wifi (will watch vod for that) but the parts that I did get to see included Pen being....Pen and Shiori's neurons getting absolutely activated through the roof. I think we know who the husbando is gonna be. And it's not even a blonde guy for once. I did not expect there to be an arena in a comfy town builder with romanceable characters, but here we are. Also Screamvella came out more than expected for a comfy game. I hope you play more of this. Twas a fun stream from what I saw.

I think I was too used to like Stardew and really old school Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon games on like..SNES being 2D only (while also nearly forgetting? ww that you played 3D Story of Seasons in your 1st autumn in like 2023, chasing Nami, innit ). Altho, I certainly wasn't expecting that much combat in Sandrock Like you got your Soulsborne in our farming/building sim ww. Or it's literally like Naruto series where defeat=friendship and "talk no jutsu" haha. Except for Burgess, for which, I'd really need to go back to that moment and see exactly how he became "nemesis" so quickly bc thinking that "Nemesis" was og name of Greek deity of retribution For another Sandrock guy, I can see how you were so taken by Unsuur's English dub ww. When I first heard that, I was reminded of Chris Hackney's VA'ing (I know him mainly as Rusty in Armored Core). By the by, idr if you saw it, Shiori, but when Chris 1st heard of you, I actually had a Twitter convo w/ him back then when I realized he voices both Dimitri & Rusty He also joked that you could play AC6 to hear his VA'ing again bc Rusty likes calling the MC "buddy," and * everyone * likes Rusty's charisma and power of example But anyway, ty for another comfy if sometimes comedic game too, Shiori Will look forward to when you want to play again

I usually enjoy the indie type stuff that's more story based that you play but watching you play such a relaxing game that you are enjoying really was enjoyable. When you're in combat or in town are really nice! From not playing the first one or this game, the npc interaction is pretty nice, too! I remember playing a few JRPG's back in the day, and it felt pretty dull and were there more as placeholders. Hope your able to find a character to romance, I am not sure who you will pick actually and I know others have bets on who it will be (I'm a alligation denier so I'm on your side!). Man nothing screams like a good fun time than hearing Shiori yapping while she's playing a farming sim game only this time this one is apparently made by the same guys who did that other game that I'm still trying to consider playing since my friend let me hold on to the switch version years ago. As for this run we had things like Shiori playing with the different languages, her beating up everyone, we heard a girl who was pretty and had a cute accent while Shiori was feeling something for a guy because he had a cool voice, a dude was made her first NEMESIS and finally she tried to fight some guys but they were way too high leveled so she made a tactical retreat lol. Really now I think you coukd have taken them but on the bright side, Shiori is not only giving us jetpacks but also mechas so YAY!!!!!! Still though another fun and chill stream with you Shiori and thanks for the yapping and the beeg hat at the start❤❤❤❤!
While the two games are similar in theme & style, Portia is severely lacking in QoL and story development. If you were going to play one or the other, Sandrock is the way to go. You don't even miss that much as far as story elements are concerned. Portia was kind of an incomplete buggy mess, the devs essentially abandoned it to work on Sandrock.

I like how cozy and relaxing it can be, while also having combat options and being able to beat up and spar with people you've just met. Think I clocked 70 hours on My Time at Portia, I only tried like 5mins of Sandrock but it's definitely looking like quite the big improvement! Love the ambience and the characters, love how you can still do the goofy 1on1 duels for socializing It is weird how some resources were not visible due to low graphic settings... didn't expect that tbh ww. I knew very little about this game before the stream, but this game looks like a fun, relaxing adventure. I can see why this game would be a comfort game for you. Did not expect such a lively and vibrant world to take place in a post-apocalyptic setting, a far cry from a lot of other stories typically found in this type of setting. Also, find it funny that your first nemesis in this game came from cutting down a cactus near town. The Dark Souls-esque combat was a surprise, even more surprised that you can spar with a number of the named characters. The English voice direction for this game was also better than what I was expecting.
Your excitement for some of the romanceable characters was adorable! Your reaction to Unsuur's English voice is especially a highlight, and I don't blame you one bit for reacting that way! I see you picked back up the habit of taking pictures of the characters that interest you, gotta save those memories, after all. So many husbandos for you to choose, though I'm uncertain if you've met all of the romanceable NPCs or if there are still more to be discovered. I'm curious as to whether you've already locked in on who you want to try to romance, or if you're still looking around and seeing what your options are?

I had mostly kept myself in the dark about this game, but I knew that you would pick up the Love Chronicles DLC the second I saw it was a thing. Not going into details so you can experience it yourself if you pursue either of them, but just in case you didn't know, both Logan and Fang have extra content with that DLC. It was absolutely adorable seeing you get so excited over Unsuur's voice and I'm glad to see the return of you taking more screenshots too~ I do have mixed feelings about Pen being compared to Ortega even though they do look quite similar. After all, Pen doesn't have Ortega's gorgeous mustache~Real talk though, I was pleasantly surprised to see just how unique the characters are!
I honestly have no clue what it is about you and Sandrock, but you've unironically had some amazing comedic timing playing it~ One of my favorite parts about how you've been playing the game so far has been when you fight literally anyone you see if there's an option, especially at 1:04:24 where you fought the pastor despite saying you shouldn't just a couple of seconds prior. It still really impresses me how well you hold your own against the townsfolk who were at a considerably higher level than your own.
As for the part at 1:10:04 where you asked us if we thought you could voice anything, at this exact point in time I could picture you playing the role of a narrator, storyteller, or a librarian, so mostly characters with a calm demeanor for now. To be honest, I do believe that you are good at making the dialogue you read for scripts come across as natural and sound like "You." Just look at your audio dramas and voice packs for examples of that. I'm not an amateur, let alone a professional voice actor by any means, but I would recommend looking into learning from a voice over coach if you're interested in exploring your range and how to portray different types of characters or emotions though. You legit have very good potential, so I wish you nothing but the best should this turn out to be something you decide to pursue, Shiori.
FINALLY!! After so many years! We finally get My Time At Sandrock and it’s fun! I really like the art direction and especially the voice acting in the game. So far my favorite voice actor was “Grace” in English as she sounded very mature and hot. I also find it very dorky how you constantly swapped between the language dubs of English and Chinese
The gameplay is pretty similar to My Time At Portia obviously, but it definitely feels more polished. I am interested to see where the characters go from here. I do like the cast so far. It was quite amusing to see you challenge anyone and everyone to battle with your silly little oversized / tiny Cowboy hat!
Your feud with with you anemememesis Burgess was some of the best parts of the stream! On sight, you would call him a POS just because you cut one Cactus Tree! Btw that cactus tree will respawn probably after 6 days in game I think.

The life sim angle isn't exactly my expertise, but the voice acting is splendid, the character designs have a ton of charm and personality... I was surprised by how genuinely neat the combat looks, and the ability to duel anyone you meet is amazing. Also didn't know it's a post-apocalypse setting; I'm interested in learning more about that too

Glad to see you enjoy your time and get a bit invested with My Time at Sandrock. I didn't know anything about the game aside from you sharing your experiences with the previous title, the one in Portia, as well as your excitement for this one. Experiencing it through your eyes, and I think it's a pretty interesting game. I think the characters are pretty interesting, and the voice acting for both dubs were pretty good. The setting, even if I'm not a big fan of deserts myself, I kind of like the wild western feel this game gives off. Also I think it was mentioned very briely, but I thought I heard that this series takes place in a post apocalypse? If so this is quite the interesting take to make a setting after one, as when I usually hear Post Apocalypse, I imagine things to look and feel dreary and baren. So to see that enough time has passed that people are able to live semi-comfortably again is kinda cool to me. Thanks for sharing a nice comfy experience, I look forward to the next time if you ever decide to revisit this for a stream someday later on.

I'm not to familiar with the series, but it looks like it's a really enjoyable game so far between the various mechanics, and at least listening in for the majority of it, it was a pretty relaxing and cozy time with some chaos and ass beating interjected in between. I think if anything, today's stream taught me that beating people up is more efficient than doing your job if Burgess is any indication.
As for the Chinese, you were pretty close to saying and it was pretty good. It just the tones can be difficult. Both the wǒ and xĭ have a v-shaped pitch to it where you start flat, let the pitch fall and rise again before you finish enunciating the character, and the fàn has a sharp falling pitch. Still pretty good!

The VA's did such a good job with this game. I had to miss parts due to bleh work wifi (will watch vod for that) but the parts that I did get to see included Pen being....Pen and Shiori's neurons getting absolutely activated through the roof. I think we know who the husbando is gonna be. And it's not even a blonde guy for once.
I did not expect there to be an arena in a comfy town builder with romanceable characters, but here we are. Also Screamvella came out more than expected for a comfy game.

I think I was too used to like Stardew and really old school Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon games on like..SNES being 2D only (while also nearly forgetting? ww that you played 3D Story of Seasons in your 1st autumn in like 2023, chasing Nami, innit ). Altho, I certainly wasn't expecting that much combat in Sandrock Like you got your Soulsborne in our farming/building sim ww. Except for Burgess, for which, I'd really need to go back to that moment and see exactly how he became "nemesis" so quickly bc thinking that "Nemesis" was og name of Greek deity of retribution For another Sandrock guy, I can see how you were so taken by Unsuur's English dub ww. When I first heard that, I was reminded of Chris Hackney's VA'ing (I know him mainly as Rusty in Armored Core). Such a comfy stream and honestly forgot about this game until you started mentioning it. Enjoyed your playthrough of you living your life as an engineer, beating up the townsfolks, and finding your potential husbando. Its a really neat game and a lot more different than I thought from similar games like Harvest Moon and Rune Factory. I see that its on sale now on Steam and will definitely pick it up to check out the game for myself. Been awhile since I left a comment on a stream but I wanted to say that I enjoyed watching you play! I usually enjoy the indie type stuff that's more story based that you play but watching you play such a relaxing game that you are enjoying really was enjoyable. It was really interesting hearing you make comparisons to other games like Harvest Moon (sorry I never played them). It was nice to sit back and watch and from time to time comment which I hope that wasn't a problem, I know its a silly thing to worry about. I'm so use to being engaged in chat haha. It would be cool to see you play more games like this though if you do decide to. Thank you as always for streaming! I know lately you have been working pretty hard and you were having trouble sleeping so I hope things get better for you in that area. Wish I could help! By the way, from the short time that you have played this game. Have you found stuff that you liked in this game that you wished was in "My Time at Portia"? I would love to hear your opinion on it!
I’m not too far in yet, but the voice acting for EN and the combat are already way better than Portia. I do miss seeing grass for Sandrock though.
@ShioriNovella I appreciate you taking the time to reply back! I can see what you mean when looking at gameplay for Portia and Sandrock. The greenery would be nicer to see also. Maybe there is a way to bring it back somehow? And it has to tie into the overarching story, too. I would say personally from you playing that I really like the BGM in certain areas. When you're in combat or in town are really nice! From not playing the first one or this game, the npc interaction is pretty nice, too! I remember playing a few JRPG's back in the day, and it felt pretty dull and were there more as placeholders. Hope your able to find a character to romance, I am not sure who you will pick actually and I know others have bets on who it will be (I'm a alligation denier so I'm on your side!). If you do read this, thank you again for taking time to do so! I look forward to more gameplay!

Man nothing screams like a good fun time than hearing Shiori yapping while she's playing a farming sim game only this time this one is apparently made by the same guys who did that other game that I'm still trying to consider playing since my friend let me hold on to the switch version years ago. As for this run we had things like Shiori playing with the different languages, her beating up everyone, we heard a girl who was pretty and had a cute accent while Shiori was feeling something for a guy because he had a cool voice, a dude was made her first NEMESIS and finally she tried to fight some guys but they were way too high leveled so she made a tactical retreat lol. Really now I think you coukd have taken them but on the bright side, Shiori is not only giving us jetpacks but also mechas so YAY!!!!!! Still though another fun and chill stream with you Shiori and thanks for the yapping and the beeg hat at the start❤❤❤❤!
While the two games are similar in theme & style, Portia is severely lacking in QoL and story development. If you were going to play one or the other, Sandrock is the way to go. You don't even miss that much as far as story elements are concerned. Portia was kind of an incomplete buggy mess, the devs essentially abandoned it to work on Sandrock.

Thank you for the stream! Never have I thought you can start fights with the citizens in this game, but also get in trouble for gathering a valuable material. While it can be seen as frustrating mechanic, it's pretty immersive. Just be mindful of relationship points.

Thanks for the stream, Shiori. I'm glad you finally got to play the game you've been talking about for quite some time. I've heard of the series before, but never played any of the entries, or seen any gameplay. I like how cozy and relaxing it can be, while also having combat options and being able to beat up and spar with people you've just met. Had to laugh at the fight with Pen and when you instantly made enemies with Burgess for cutting down the cactus tree.

This is a really chill game to be yappin to, and I look forward to see you playing it again in the future. Unsuur, Fang, and Logan seem like good candidates to be romanced. I look forward to seeing who you'll eventually pick to romance. Hopefully next time you're able to get Burgess to forgive you for chopping down his cactus tree. Maybe gifting him a cactus tree will get him to forgive you.
Think I clocked 70 hours on My Time at Portia, I only tried like 5mins of Sandrock but it's definitely looking like quite the big improvement! Love the ambience and the characters, love how you can still do the goofy 1on1 duels for socializing It is weird how some resources were not visible due to low graphic settings... didn't expect that tbh ww.

This is my first time knowing about this game series and Im loving it's asthetics Reminiscent of Stardew valley, but as a 3D "open world" rather than a top down look, plus it seems like there could be a lot more machinery and automation involved
