My interpretation was that he was insecure about being the “weakest”, so that’s why he wanted the thing that could tangibly get him the most change: strength. All the other ones you probably wouldn’t notice day to day but strength, you’d notice right off the bat.

What I always found fun about this story is that it has a naturally compelling "what would I do?" hook to it. Everyone has that moment of "no, man, put some points into dex...!" "No, no, you should grind a few E-rank dungeons first before you enter the instance dungeon...!" And that's how they get you...!

Yet again they did basically a 1 to 1 conversion from the manhwa to the anime with 1 exception this time. In the manhwa there were no goblins and he didn't have a knife. My boy went in bare knuckled and had to fight the steel jaw wolves strait away. Not sure if in the LN there were some goblins and the knife and they brought them back in since I know stuff got left out of the manhwa from the LN or if they put them in purely for the anime to show his progression. Either way, super happy with the anime still, it's doing total justice to the peak power fantasy that Solo Leveling is!
He got a sword in the Manhwa though. Also they added some additional scenes like the throwback regarding his mother and Joo-Hee wanting to visit him in the hospital. SPOILER! And not to ignore the 2nd Hunter next to Jin-Chul ;)
I don't know how but the anime somehow made Jinwoo's character even more likeable like i don't remember rooting for him this much while i was reading the manwha, also i like how they are handling the pacing they are taking their sweet time and they are not skipping nor rushing anything instead they are adding little bits here and there that we didn't get in the manwha
I know right for many people this portion of the fight was just average manwa grinding scenes. The only memorable scene was the upcoming boss fight. I head rumors that the VA coughed up blood while working for episode 4 so it’s getting me even hyped for the fight scene that’s about to hit 🤭🤭🤫.

For anyone that's confused by this episode lm not going to spoil anything let me explain how the MCs power works now sung jin woo is not in a game the menu that you saw that pops up in front of him only he can see it no one in his world can see it but only him The System is that menu that you saw now this is how it workes like a video game and provided Jinwoo with system quests that offered unique rewards, a leveling system with different skills and stats, an unlimited inventory that Jinwoo could store all sorts of magical items in, and even an in-built store offering items for the in-game gold currency that Jinwoo With the majority of the series' events having significance to the regular world and not what's beyond the Gates, Solo Leveling is not necessarily an isekai, even though it does wind up exploringa lot of the significance of the beyond in relation to the main character specifically now if I'm correct his first glow up will probably start at episode 4 or 5 that's if they can manage to squeeze in 5 chapters from the manhwa
actually jinwoo is being clever there not saying he have a game panel infront of people he dont know. he is observant on what to share. he just tried it on her sister since he trust her ofcourse.
