People said in the manwha, the quest said to "kill all enemies" instead of "defeat". Remember these people are serial killers who have killed many people in the past, in dungeons like this where they lured the players in and kill them so they get more rewards left. I think the system knows that these are scumbag people. People who also tried to kill Jinwoo three times now but failed.

At the beginning of ep5 (previous episode), he was about to receive the daily rewards after his run but was interrupted, so he never got the chance to. That was a stroke of luck.
I feel like a lot of people misunderstand this scene. Jinwoo wasn’t upset about inferring the system wanted him to kill there. He was upset that he let himself become idealistic after gaining a bit of power and these guys brought him back to reality. That was a huge moment where obviously he wasn’t happy to end them but accepted that power means the right to chose who lives or dies. The human vs God dynamic is huge in this medium and both Solo Leveling and Tower of God do a great job of realistically playing out the morality of it. Also, I love the bit at the end as an aside. My interpretation of that scene was him realizing how incredible the power he has is. Just from the small leveling up of his perception he unknowingly predicted rain. But it really might not be that deep.
And they're the only channel I watched that immediately caught the part where Jinwoo didn't claim his rewards for the daily quest and only remembered it during the fight with the spider 👍
He also hasn't gotten appraisal yet since he was stuck as an E-rank since day 1 after being double-waken. He hasn't got his power check yet. So those people he joins for the dungeon raid all think he is some weak person but not the same person he is now.
Hunter association Chairman Go, the old guy, is an S ranker his Second who is sparing with him a top tier A Ranker. Even though they are 1 rank apart, once you get into the higher ranks, one rank makes a huge difference in power. The quest to kill was because it was alread a kill or be killed situation. The system needs him to get stronger. It needs him.

I’ve been mentioning this since I really like Jin ho and they changed the translation but Aniki means "brother", but not in a particular sense. It also implies some kind of hierarchy, which is hard to translate in english. In that case, both "boss" and "brother" are correct translations, although translating aniki to boss makes the term lose a lot of it's intended depth
Also for translation it is not entirely correct new skill is called sprint it basically increases his speed by 30%. For status recovery it ez he doesnt need to take all rewards for dailys right away he can save status recovery for when he needs it but it is only available at same day he completed daily quest. 12:26 and who said he doesn't wanna do it yes system said kill them or die but it was in the end his choice system gives him choice remeber jinwoo said it is survival of the strongest kill or die.

I mean, the system works based on what they program into it. So, if the system detects someone who is really trying to kill the player, the system automatically reacts and gives a quest to the player so he can protect himself. That's all I can reveal about the system so I don't spoil it. Hehehe.
Its not that his leveling system works on humans, it’s just that the system has a mind of its own and picks the conducive path for jinwoo to survive, it keeps him alive for some reason at the expense of eliminating potential harm to the player. While incapacitating them would suffice but the system want to permanently remove the danger so it will benefit the player. The same instance happened to certain entity that’s responsible for this system to exist, that’s why the player system emulates the short-comings of that certain entity by preventing jinwoo to walk the same path. Anyway they’ll still have to die, even if jinwoo will not receive penalty for sparing a traitors life, the outcome will be the same he will just get betrayed over again after those people or even one of them survives when they are safe.

I personally felt bad for everyone involved in the last fight. I don’t feel *as bad* for the 6 hunters who probably killed lots of weaker hunters, but what made me feel bad for them is that they absolutely brought this upon themselves. Sung probably would’nt have killed them all of it hadn’t turn into a quest..it was a sad turn of events
Personally, they needed to go. MC did right by taking them out not just because he avenged the ones killed but he also save future victims. I'm someone who believes that when ppl create a pattern like that [example kills more then 1 person even if claimed by accident] you should believe someone when they show you over and over again who they are especially when show through such a violent action as taking a life and feeling no remorse for said action. Do I think him killing them was right not at all but yes it was their time they needed to go I dont feel sorry for them in the least. I feel sorry for the ones that loved them and lost them but that's it. They'll get nothing more and nothing less out of me.
You guys keep seeing Jinwoo as a hero, tragic or otherwise. The truth is he is the protagonist of this show but he is NOT actually a hero, no Superman or Batman here. No one who went through what he did in episode 2 would come out ok on the other side. Afterall, the quest said defeat the enemies, it didn't actually say kill.
