We actually recently went back to IEW, too (I think we first explored it later in 7th grade. I purchased their new Wonders of Science a few months ago even though it is intended for the younger students (my son is a soon to be 10th grader), but it has been just what he needed to build his skills and confidence. I can see the writing process starting to click for him. It's encouraging because he was a very reluctant writer. I have been walking him through each lesson, which works fine because when we had the program before, the lessons on the videos were too long for him. I found a few used teacher's manuals for the ancient & the U.S. history, so we're going to explore those, too. I love the inclusion of vocabulary, too. The program is so rich!
Yes it is definitely helpful to the reluctant one because it gives a process to follow. Glad you are starting to see fruit for your patience and efforts❤️
I had tried IEW Level A when my kids were in elementary school, and it was a HUGE FAIL! LOL! I started WAY too early! I have JUST NOW started my 9th grader on Level B, and my 11th grader is going to start Level C soon. I agree - it almost hurts you to start this program too early.
My son is going into 6th. He tells beautiful, elaborate stories and has good vocab and spelling but when you ask him to write something its literally like a three words 😅 Im looking into IEW but Im worried the vidoes may be too long
I love it that he speaks elaborately 🤗 Sometimes a blank sheet of paper makes the mind go blank 😂 I really think the videos would help him see how the process could be put down on paper. Keep in mind you could spread a week over 2 weeks. The videos are very engaging!! Also we would let one of my boys record his thoughts on my phone and then I would send to computer to fix any grammatical errors. 😉

You can never help your child too much, this is a great reminder!
I also love: EZ + 1!
We just finished the Themed Midieval book last year.

There is definitely no hurry!!😉
My 7th grader has not done the videos yet.☺️
My daughter will be in 11th grade and we have never used IEW. Do you think we should start with Structure and style B or C?
I think C would be fine. It will start with basics but move quicker😉
@@learningwithboys7431 thank you
