We need more videos like this. Most tutorial videos on strokes are heavily edited and cut out key information. This is incredibly helpful in understanding the strokes and rotation, and why they matter so much.

good lesson. where there is inadequate pronation, there is arm strength pounding the shuttle with no power, no control, poor timing. another korean coach i watched had an excellent suggestion. he said: supinate your dominant arm and your non-dominant arm simultaneously as you open your chest in preparation for the stroke, then pronate both arms into the stroke. it is like twisting and releasing a spring so that is turns very quickly without bending. maybe this can help your student who continues to chop at the shuttle like he is holding a hammer or an axe. he is very resistant to losing the habit of bending his wrist and does not want to use pronation, which is a problem we see all the time. the wrong belief is that bending or flipping the wrist is part of power generation or control in badminton. the message cannot be repeated too often. thank you for your teaching

this coaching video worth priceless. It's so easy to understand, even I am not an english native speaker, I repeated it many times and I always get somehting new. I been playing just for fun for more than 3 years now and it turns out I always hit the bird wrong, this hitting technique is really a game changer, it makesmy stroke more powerful with less effort especially on clear (bola lob). Terima kasih.

I'm glad my video helped you. Are you Indonesian? Indonesia loves badminton more than Korea. I also feel a lot while watching videos of Indonesian players. And I always thank Indonesian fans on our channel.

@@full-swing Yes, I am Indonesian and vice versa: everything about badminton in South korea looks advanced especially on YT, and fun to watch, high quality stuff. I kind of new of this sport so I thank a lot on this superb channel.

Hahaha. Thanks for watching. Let me tell you one interesting fact. This is characteristic of Koreans. When a popular culture is created, Koreans do it very passionately. To foreigners, it will probably appear that Koreans are overzealous.
For example, Koreans buy all the best gear when hiking. They are armed with the best jumpers and mountain gear, as if climbing the Himalayas. (They aren't even climbing snowy mountains.)
Camping hobbyists buy air domes, which cost thousands of dollars, as if they were preparing a military tent.
The same goes for Koreans who enjoy playing badminton. Koreans will be satisfied when they wear all the rackets, shoes, and clothing worn by the world's leading national team players. :-)
Will Koreans show interest in obvious and boring videos? Absolutely not.

    • @full-swing
      @full-swing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

If Koreans are workaholics, badminton in Indonesia is a joy itself. Indonesian people enjoy playing badminton regardless of dress or environment, and they look exciting.
The physical flexibility and creative skills of Indonesian people are really cool.
Indonesian professional players are genius and creative. On the other hand, Korean players are persistent and hard-working.
Indonesian badminton has a different charm from Korea. Our channel crew hopes to go on a badminton trip to Indonesia someday.
