me peacefully commuting to work observing the fresh snow...THEN I observed a large angry dog charging at me full speed. That certainly is the speed of observation.
I watch this short video and immediately the world looks better. This guy has the joy of life in his eyes. And he doesn't need a $15,000 bike for that...
I truly aspire to be like this. A bearded weirdo (in the best way) shredding through the woods on a steel bike. No carbon. No spandex. No Strava. Just quality components, fresh air and all the joy in the world.
Riding a bike is the best form of stress reliever, for me at least...it doesn't matter what bike, even if it's the cheapest out there, for as long as you love riding it, then it's golden.
Everything that I embraced in my early twenties an somehow got kinda knocked out of me through the fog off life, is an has returned as this Mans approach echoes an reminds me of that original ethos. Cheers Ronnie
OMG, can I ever relate. As a kid my first real bike was my escape. Fifty five years later I’m still in love with bicycling. Only now it’s not escape but exploring and being out in nature.
Great video and the jam in the background was great as well. I'm 43 yr young and all i do is ride. I built a trailer to haul lawn mowers for summer people in town hire be because I won't give into a car again and they think I'm nuts 😜
Man this dude be riding a full on mtb trail with a steel vintage bike, cantilever brake and no suspension and still manage to hit all the jump and stuff..... legend
I vibe with this dudes style so much. Also my current WIP bicycle is basically his current daily rider. Life long BMXer who loves single speed mashing and roasting!
Ronnie is a treasure, no doubt. Yup, everyone would be better of if they rode bicycles more. People, the planet, our communities, our cities. I'd love to find a way to unite all bike-ped folks and push for better/safer infrastucture in the U.S. Ronnie gets it.
Feeling of flight? I now have a silent rear hub. Now, I really feel like I am flying when I glide. In the forest, I don't feel like an intruder. Not the lightest hub-but so so smooth. Don't ever want to go back. Best holiday wishes.
That's one of his own models with Crust, you can get something vintage for probably less if you look around, but his is a mix between the Specialized M2 Stupjumper and the Yeti FRO amongst other influences. It's built by one of the Yeti frame builders from when they were a small independent. I disagree with him on aluminium, but he's also far taller and slimmer than me and he makes some good arguments for his choices. Plus my few dealings with him and his partner have been very pleasant. I think he really is the nice, goofy guy with the ironic dad jokes you see on camera, it's not just an act and that's kinda refreshing.
Sincerely appreciate the open captioning! Make it so much easier for us to watch! I’d recommend using closed captioning as it mean anyone can choose to auto translate it in a different languages thus broadening your audience!
It's funny, I'm almost 31 and for several years gave up bicycles for motos... but it's come full circle. I can't stop buying different styles of bicycles and even commute many days to work on my gravel bike. Ever since COVID, street riding on motos has just become a whole other level of danger that just isn't worth participating in... or maybe I've just become more prudent when it comes to adrenaline-fueled risk taking.
The bar width to shorts inseam ratio is exquisite.
❤
A friend of mine told me the great thing about a bike is that you move at the speed of observation. The more I think about that line the more I agree.
Yup. Its just 'that' speed.

@@larslarsen1149 As the disclaimer says "...your results may vary"
It literally changed the way I experienced going through my city.
At my speed all I’m observing are things that can make me crash

The dude comes ripping into the forest, mulches it, and leaves!!!
mulches it and "leafs"
I love the quote of cycling being as close man will get to flying! Pure freedom with a sense of direction, even when there is none
what about paragliding :)
He’s quoting Robin Williams.
Amazing production! Showing the pure and true state of this man's love for Freedom and Cycling. Top notch!

Some people dream ,while others live!!
Hats off to you my friend 😁

Joy. That’s the feeling when riding a good, well fitting bicycle.
Seeing this so far from my home biome. It's good to see it here.
Ronnie is a treasure, no doubt.

I feel like he spreads the love for *just* riding (still very nice bikes, quality parts)

Ron dogg rlly shredding there at the end.

This is like the sequel to the one you did with Spesh. I was waiting for the death metal and it never came. Splendid nonetheless.
Friluftsliv, jaaa! Jag lever som Ronnie här i Sverige.
👑 King of the forest 🌳
help, what kind of music is playing at the beginning? Thanks a lot 0:42 0:05

Your lucky you got hair, but I know the feeling of a good bike ride
I'm currently rekindling my youthful predilection to cycling.

So romantic about the bikes and then jumps into a cheap plastic canoe with a double bladed paddle. Someone needs to get Ronnie in a proper canoe.
👑
anyone know where to get these shorts ?? 🔥
Does Monsieur Romance wear wax canvas shorts?
Guys handle bars like that but for a 31.8 stem?
I have a ritchey kyote but I woul like more back sweep
