my launch instance fails every time.
and it goes back to ready for testing.
Seems like there is an issue in conversion server ( as soon it is initialized it is terminated )
anyone who has solved this before

Yes, its possible to import ec2 instance as a VM using VM import/export option.

Better don't go with the MGN in the case of cross region migration in AWS its self. simply create the Instance AMI and share the AMI with your own account as private or public , as per concern your confidentiality and security . Then you can go to AMI in ec2 on your target region or AWS account and search AMI id of the source. you could have see the shared AMI which we shared.
Then select the ami and copy it your account and launch it will simple solve this aws its self migration.
if the application is going to migrate from the light sale to ec2 or on prime or different cloud I would prefer to use the MGN for lift and shift.

      Hello Rakesh,
I appreciate your time and prompt response. I agree with the process you mentioned. The main objective of this video is to shed light on the MGN service. Not everyone may have the capacity to set up a server on-premises or in another cloud, so this option seemed most viable.
      Thank you.
