One thing I do is I have a bad habit of using my hands and fingers for drips or whatever. What follows is then my nose will itch or I’ll push my glasses up. Then it goes downhill from there. This looks like an antique game table were they were able to put different boards on top and play backgammon or chess or checkers but you did a beautiful job with recreating that it's absolutely gorgeous!

When you covered all that beautiful wood with that fuchsia color, I thought "Oh No!" The end result, however, ended ujp beautiful. Still prefer good wood finished in its natural wood grain color. You certinly show purest that paint on wood can look stunning. Bravo!

Your dog is adorable...so cute just sitting there waiting patiently...the table looks stunning and instead of the dark wood now which never shows up the different pieces of the furniture the paint brings out the character and all the decorative details of the table...a beautiful job Kacha!
It's even worse here in Italy. Sometimes I think about moving back to the States just for the furniture to be found in antique malls and estate sales. Italian furniture is traditionally made with very dark wood or veneer. The pieces made with solid wood are often too beautiful to paint. I wouldn't think of it. Also, a lot of antique furniture is massive, enormous and impossible to move unless you have a Mac truck. So I sympathize with your lament. 😞

Being here in the UK we have access to tour some of the GRAND Stately Homes that are like mini Royal Palaces and this piece would fit in with furniture in those places perfectly.
