- GOTTA GO FAST! Hi fellow viewers, I’m back with another VGM cover. As part of the Sonic franchises 25th anniversary, I did an 80’s Metal/Hard Rock rendition of “Green Hill Zone”, from the 1991 SEGA MegaDrive (Genesis in North America) game Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s a fun song to play from a fun game to play.
I had a lot of fun putting this cover together and I think the overall result is great. To enhance that 80’s rock tone I was after I added a chorus effect on the lead guitar which I hadn’t done on my previous recordings but in my opinion works very nicely in this cover.
Hope you like my cover and stay tuned for more VGM covers in future

For far, the best cover of green hill of all TH-cam. Nice work bro, that was epic 🔥🤘🤘
I've listened to a lot of metal covers for this song and this one stands out from the others because you're not trying to cram as much guitar as you can in there. All the instruments have room to breathe and the arrangement is coherent and respects the original theme instead of puking all over its origin. Well done.
Hey, sorry for the belated reply. Thanks for the comment. Indeed I did my best to make sure each instrument was well represented in the arrangement rather than be completely guitar focused, that's why I included a keyboard solo in between the guitar solo. Glad you liked my cover :)
+MetalLegend666 Cool stuff! If you ever feel like trying a collaboration, I'm a composer, arranger and keyboard player.
That's how it's done. When you allow other instruments in, that is what truly gives the guitar contrast and really shine. You're playing and musicianship is stellar. Keep doing what you are doing!
Truly awesome stuff!
totally agree, the other metal versions felt way too noisy, and i love metal!
Sonic the Hedgehog forever!
They should have used that in the Sonic movie!!! Awesome job!!
Been watching this video for years. Still no question the best cover of this song
Has a lot of great sounds to it, the keyboard especially reminds me of Van Halen's Jump. Some elements of it also remind me of Love is Like Oxygen as well. Has an eighties sound through and through and I love it! Awesome job!
Thank you. Indeed the keys sound a lot like the synth in Van Halen's "Jump".
God I'm so sick of the death metal covers thus dude knows his shit. 80s heavy metal is peak.
I love your covers dude! Would you allow me to use this to make a bass cover? greetings from Mexico city !!
The musicianship is off the chart! Incredible work!
Incredible version, got really emotional here congrats
Man, this is amazing. Brings back soooo many memories.
Awesome job dude, Sonic FTW!
Thank you
WTF backwards.
Sweet
This needs to be either on the opening credits or a massive action scene in the new Sonic movie! Love it! 🤘🤘🤘🦔🦔🦔
Bro this guy is super underrated I listened to some of his songs and all of them are amazing keep it up man thx for inspiring me 😩
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nailed it man
Yaaaasss. I loved this cover! Not just a cover, but you took some liberal directions to make it more than just a cover. That solo at 1:31 was seriously bitchin'. Great finish! This is definitely going on my repeat list.
\m/>.
Thanks. Glad you like my cover
OK This is like REALLY Awesome!
Just great man. I love how you resolved the solo section into the Green Hill intro in order to get naturally back into the "final verse." The transitions are part of the awesomeness!
You really know how to arrange things into covers that don't even sound like the originals were meant to repeat infinitely.
Awesome!
Amazing! This make my day a lot better, thanks bro!!
Great interpretation, kudos for staying faithful to good old synths.
At 1.25 it's even better!
Dude, sick cover. Great tribute for 25 years of Sonic. Keep on rockin'.
Thank you
Damn the chills I got when I first heard this yeah nostalgia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is awesome! My fave from all the Sonic games :)
Thank you. The music from the early Sonic games certainly were top notch
Damn. This would make an awesome patch, if we ever get that sort of ability with the genesis.
Perfect execution! I loved the 80's style. I could do more classic game titles with that style ... Super Mario Bros, Cadillacs And Dinosaurs, Super Metroid, Zelda, Street Fighters, Pac-Man, Tetriz, F-Zero. \m/
Um Grande abraço do Brasil.
This caught me off guard 😂👍
Amazing!!
Very good buddy. Loved every second of watching this video
Man, this is so awesome! I love it
Sick solo
Awesome playing
Super cool!
this is badass
Oh yeah I like
excellent thanks!
Is there a PAL 50hz version? lol
I reckon this is the best cover out there. It sounds real, not over digitized like a lot of covers. And the arrangement is beautiful. There's room for each instrument to breathe and not over over-saturated like a lot of metal video game covers.
Oh wow!!!!
escuchar esto es la gloria 🔥🔥🤩🔥🔥🤩
Awesome
Really nice!
Cheers thanks
Nice video.
Awesome !!

This is way too underrated.
I just fucking YEETED
0:23 is my jam
It sounds like an RPG battle theme. Nevertheless, well done!
pliss backing track!!! Awesome!
play Sonic i was 13 and still !
Honestly not a big 80s fan (Clarification: I know alot about the 80s and I like the films from the time. Just not the love songs. Rock and some pop is fine), but this is really good. I usually dont listen to it because that is what my father listens to. But this truly would work for live action or just a animated film. I would love to see you do this for the sonic film. Or at least a fan film. Great job mate!
Hahaha this is fuckin awesome!
Gotta Go Fast !!
legit
I can just hear David Lee Roth squealing over this.
LOL True
Underrated comment
