Dakich's personal feelings about Coach Knight aside, he's always been a fair and complimenting guy about Knight as a coach. I give him that credit for being able to differentiate between that.

Always been an IU and coach Knight. I’m MedRetUSMC and understand Coach Knight way of thinking. Still remember the game when coach put Dan to guard Michael Jordon and Dan held him to 8 points 😊

Love it! Couldn't agree more with Dan. Miss those fab days in Bloomington. Grew up there and lived through the golden age of Hoosier Basketball.

I went to Knights basketball camp in the 80s for 3 years. Met peeps like Steve Alford and others. Coach Knight cared the most about everyone learning. He was tough, but its his circus. If you can't handle it, get out! Rip Coach. We will all miss you.

Bob Knight, Pete Carril and John Wooden are of an era that we will never see again. It’s sad that tough love and values like he utilized is a thing of the past in College Basketball!

With the transfer portal coaches can't discipline or bench a player anymore. They simply leave.

Coach Knight had no use for John Wooden. Damned him the faintest of praise as only he could. He believed that Wooden turned a blind eye to rampant cheating by UCLA boosters on the trail. One booster in particular.

I am a huge IU fan I was 14 yrs old watching the game thinking we we were about to win the game I was stunned when Dan turned the ball over Dan has always been one of my favorite players I still remember the play to this day it stung that's how I love Hoosier basketball I had a lot of respect for Coach Knight it didn't like how Dan was treated by someone he had respected trusted and maybe even loved at one time!!! Sorry you had to go through that Dan to me your one of the best players no matter what the statics......

Everyone in Indiana worshipped Bob Knight. And those that didn't were pressured to keep their mouths shut, lest the infidels commit blasphemy against The Lord and Savior, Bob Knight. If he and his followers couldn't make make people love him, they could at least intimidate them into silence. That's what true leadership is all about.

George McGinnis was a great IU basketball player in 1970. He then went o the ABA to play Pro Ball. But Did He Leave IU because Coach Bob Knight was coming in to Coach ? Did Knight try to talk him out of leaving ? Or was he gone before knowing Coach Knight would be the incoming Coach. If George had stayed thy beat UCLA in the semifinals in 1973. They had Steve Dowling who was a great player too
