So sad to hear that Nick had passed... he had a wealth of knowledge of all things electronic; his vids on repairing valve amps and test equipment helped me no end. I did converse with him on several occasions; always the perfect gentleman and so helpful. RIP
I was very saddened to hear of Nicks passing, he was my go to person for all rc stuff for 10 years or more, he ran the best modelshop going in my opinion, extremely helpful guy, many times i needed something unusual he would search his own toolbox etc and give it away for very little just to help out, while i never met him in person i often spoke to him on the phone or via email, a gentleman with a vast wealth of knowledge, a passion for what he did and willing to help anyone. He will be sadly missed.
Rest In Peace Nick. While I'm not in the RC community much, I loved watching you with Wild Thing on Robot Wars. You built a really great robot that was reliable and strong, thanks for all those awesome moments that you gave me while watching you on TV
Thanks Nick, always wondered about these testers. I usually use my power supply and prop rpm meter...but it’s never as easy to get a good rpm reading and not very portable. Glad it was just fets 😎
Hi Nick ! Thanks for your videos. Always in South Africa ? Do you remember Gouzat in Creuse ?!!!! I'm Christophe M. from St Domet. Now I live near Bordeaux
Hi Lukas. Some motors are very noisy. It can come from various places. Sometimes the stator is not held tightly in the outer case, and will vibrate loudly. Loose windings can also vibrate. The rotor can vibrate if there is too much end float. Sometimes the rotor can be out of balance and will vibrate, but that is not common unless it has been damaged. If the sensor board phases are way out of matching, that can cause vibration. The front collector (the circular ring) can sometimes vibrate. If you can move any part by hand, such as the stator in the case, then try and glue it , so it cannot move.

Thanks
