- Sublime with original members Eric Wilson (bass) and Bud Gaugh (drums) headlined a benefit show for HR from Bad Brains with Jakob Nowell as the singer (playing with his Dad's original guitar & amp) and Trey Pangborn on lead guitar (Long Beach Short Bus). 12/11/2023
This is the best tribute a man could ever ask of his son, to follow in his footsteps; also the way he seems to love music like a true fan is amazing to watch here. Fire Ass Song. When he sang the lyric "Daddy was a rolling stone", instantly started crying! Could only imagine what Brad is feeling watching this from the otherside. This is a Sublime cover band I could get behind.
Amazing ❤ making Dad proud
So cool to see him up there playing his Dad’s guitar, and killing it 😎
'killing it' the original title of their self titled LP ... until Brad died.
Man, he even messes up the lyric like Brad did!
one of my favorite Sublime songs. Brad would be over the moon watching Jakob play but... seeing that crowd... my god, people. I know there was a pit off to the right but that entire place should've been jumping around
Eric is absolutely amazing..
So awesome, I was always hoping this would happen, but I never thought it actually would. They sound great for the first show, imagine if they keep going (TOUR PLEASE!) I've watched a gazillion hours of Sublime show footage (bootleg vhs tapes, and now of course youtube) and i gotta say, he definitely sounds like his dad. I'm really hoping they keep this going. Legendary stuff!
👏👏👏👏
In tears
Such a ballsy tune to close the night with. I’d love to take my son to a sublime concert someday.
Thanks for filming these! This fucking rules!
The rest of the band wasn’t ready to keep up with Jake. This show is too good not to take on the road. I foresee an announcement coming soon
I agree and they said as much at the show. Jakob asked the crowd, "Should we play more shows?" And the crowd erupted in applause! He followed, "Well I guess that settles it."
They will be. Eric is not renewing his Sublime with Rome lease. And these boys already have a band manager who's booking events 2024. Announcement coming soon for sure.
@@toddsmith00 good ear. I didn’t catch that part. Is this your footage from the show?
@@AL_KING777 Yes! I was glad to be there and I got to meet the legendary Bud Gaugh! The dude that inspired me to start playing drums back in 1995.
Right I'd so be there
This is so good
Sounds a lot like him! Man I wish I was at this show. Love this type of crowd and venue. Brings back memories.
this set was a LOT better than coachella
Eric was so cool as usual, not even caring to be up there, and he was just giving it up for HR which was the right thing to do
FUCK YEAH🙏👍
I want hear him sing the fast songs on 40 oz to Freedom.
Dude fuck yeah I love that he fucked up a little his dad would fuck those songs up and make them beautiful. I can’t even tell you I’m 33 years old and I am impressed and I couldn’t get into sublime with Rome I mean the idea is cool and all but I could dig this so much.
Damn this crowd is lame
Too many fucking phones!
Yeah, that's a shitty thing about concerts these days.
00:44 looks like bradley before tell whats next song haha
I respect it but he doesnt have the soul that Bradley did
Yeah he was a dirty angel spiritually awakened man writing these conscious songs and it takes a special person to replicate that same as Scott weilands son the soul isn’t there but it’s still bad ass I feel. He prob isn’t quite aware of what he’s singing about.
They arent his songs. I'd like to see how he sings his own songs
