I remember walking down an alley in LB and hearing this bitchin music. I sat down against the garage door and listened. WOW! I was blown away. I guess i leaned too hard on the door and it made some noise. Eric came out and asked what i was doing. When i told him, he invited me in. Of course i went. They all said hi, passed around a joint and a bong. I was so toasted. I still listen to Sublime. My most favorite. I still cry sometimes when i listen to them. The GREATEST.
There needs to be a movie made about sublime. People always talk about Nirvana but I think sublime was the best band of the 90s. Sublime is still one of my favorite bands. Rip Bradley
This makes me tear up! LBC born and raised. Used to live on Ocean Blvd in Belmont Shore and saw the Sublime guys around a lot. Brings back lots of memories. RIP Bradley
Hey I just watched this do you still live in Australia two years later and are there just kangaroos walking around? I'm in the Midwest of the United States in Tipton Indiana to be exact....... traveling in a fried out kambi....to be exact.
Brad's music helped me through rough times, Enhanced the good times, an more than a decade after discovering sublime. It's still part of my life. An I've passed that torch to the younger generation. R.I.P Brad. Music this pure will always live on.
Brads voice was on everytime he could sing an play the guitar like none other. What I got is a great song but the 40oz to freedom album was great the whole way through badfish is my favorite followed by waiting for my ruca and Scarlet begonias.
Damn it would’ve been so cool to be around for those early parties. Sublime and 40oz are great records, but Jah Won’t Pay The Bills has a genuine atmosphere no other album has.
Thanks for the video Reid! Been a huge Sublime fan for the last 25 years. Takes me right back to my college days in the late 90’s. Long live Bradley! 🎵🎶🤘
4:57 - Still got my cassette copy of "40oz. To Freedom" which includes 'Get Out!' and 'Rawhide'. I'm not certain about 'Rawhide' but 'Get Out!' was definitely ommited from later issues for some reason.🤦♂️🤷♂️ I always notice this cuz it's my favorite SUBLIME song. Partially cuz it reminds me of the debauchery that occurred in my LB studio apartment that my homey and I had resided for a couple years. Probably the best 2 years of my life. Much love for my boy, Ge-off.🤘🤘
Cool, thanks. I grew up in Long Beach was punk, but never got into Sublime, do many of my friends were way into them. I feel like I understand dm a lot better now.
I'm glad I got a Great first Show- Warped Tour 95. So*** Good🗝️🎶❤️🔥 Still remember the Day his death was announced. I cried because I knew* this World would lose it's brightest ⭐ Star✨ at the time, without a doubt! I knew I would miss Him 😧. And they did* change Music. Just like this guy says, there was NOTHING QUITE LIKE, AS GREAT AS, SUBLIME.💖 And now Brad is entertaining God!
Apparently a joke based on the fact that "lord have mercy" is a super common reggae lyric. That's what I read, anyway - I don't have any special knowledge haha just repeating what I saw :)
PLEASE tell me what song is playing during 12:47 "g black hat " I have been searching and searching but cant find it.. i can sing the damn song but dont know the title.
Brad was definitely a musical genius, but most people don't realize a lot of thr lyrics and sounds on 40 oz and Robbing the hood Brad took & used from other artist like Peter Tosh, Marley and others.
The guy speaking is Miles Doughty of Slightly Stoopid, next to his current drummer Ryan. And the interviewer is a guy from the festival they were playing that weekend. California Roots.
This is an interview series about the band and their music. Yes, Brad happens to be gone. Yes, he was just a man. A man who made amazing music. I hope you still enjoyed the video.
@@SwearJar he's special in a way where he has heart for days. Ppl like that can really effect how ppl feel. Everyone can effect ppl three their vibes. But some ppls vibes are so strong. Like brad. N jimi. N when u happen to love music it's a perfect storm. It can be bad tho. If ur down n depressed. U make others feel bad. It can be a curse
@@SwearJar I'm jealous. I have the same ability. I'm just lazy. N some traumatic shit happened that effected my health. N now I'm always in a foul mood cuz my health is so poor. I live thinking what if. It's the worst

Always listening to sublime with the same grat feeling....no matter is 2021 ..still sound fresh as if it was 1996..
Jesus, what a voice Brad had. "What I Got" has gotta be one of the catchiest coolest songs of all time.
@Jason Beetleborn incorrect g just did a google search and it is 100 percent original sublime
@Jason Beetleborn you are an actual freak lol

2021 and still missing Brad

Thanks for uploading this Bradley Nowell would of loved this tribute...
This music was a portrait for the times! Takes me back 🤙
Been thinking about sublime a lot lately and how original they were
Imagine what kind of music he could of made
Sublime would be as big as Slightly Stoopid, if not bigger. Close to Metallica levels of big.
Lol they are way bigger man they don't even have maybe but 2 smashes half the last album of sublime was all hits
If Sublime were still together, rock would still be popular
RIP Brad
@@andrewalfaro546 they got WAY bigger than Slightly before he died. After they may have been like big big.
It's so sad I love him so much my son is named for him 2003.
A beautiful recollection and tribute... Loved this. Love Sublime. ❤
Man. He's my #1 musical inspiration. I wish I could've known him.

Well done Reid!
13:00 Slightly Stoopid playing in the back
Does any body know the story behind the lyric lord have his grilled cheese? It’s mentioned in several songs
I have the same question
Maybe like a Grateful Dead thing??? They did make remake Scarlet Begonias
Apparently a joke based on the fact that "lord have mercy" is a super common reggae lyric. That's what I read, anyway - I don't have any special knowledge haha just repeating what I saw :)
The MMA of punk rock
I think i get what you mean? Lol
The Chiva kenevil tape was their apex. The Ziggens were/are bitchin'- ☀️
Damn right: I'm an American
Marshall seems like the only guy in the band with his head straight.

He had a great ear for sampling.

Was he addicted to Heroin????
Doing time I own the copy rights to.
