      PROBLEM! When using as a volume, full on, is still a drop in volume of signal going into it. Yep! Tone and volume sucker. But As a wah, it is fine. U R warned.

    • @Healcraft
      @Healcraft 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justlooking1412 its supposed to be an active volume, should be an increase slightly on full than straight to amp. if thats true what you say that is a problem. they are very affordable for beginners to get both in 1 though. A basic crybaby + volume from dunlop would run about 4x the price. It would be nice if it had a third setting where it is just full bypass, otherwise might need an ABY or switcher of some sort to run around it

    If Boss came out with a pedal like using their form factor, they would kill it.

    Hey, I'm not sure if you know this, but your audio is clipping fairly badly. It starts around 3:50, but I'm not sure how long it goes on like that, or if that was it. You must need to bring down your guitar's audio channel to around -12db. It's not like analog, where you want to ride the redline; in digital you want to give yourself a LOT more headroom. It ends up being a huge benefit in the mix, when doing professional tracking & mastering . So if you're on the red-line already, it's going to seem drastic coming down so much, but just bring up all your other levels to compensate. I'm a pro audio engineer, paying my pricey NYC bills with my skills, but if you would prefer a second opinion, just Google it ;) Good Luck -Cheers

    The only downside I have found is if I get a bit out of control while soloing and press too far on pedal it clicks into vol mode a bit too easily. Otherwise an awesome sounding wah. It has pushed my crybaby and vol pedal off my board.

    • @juanvillagar2958
      @juanvillagar2958 ปีที่แล้ว

      how would you say it compares to the crybaby? i have the volwah and i'm thinking of upgrading to a 'better' wah, namely a cry baby mini cause i love this compact size on my board, but how different do they sound? do you think it'd be worth it?

    Hey dude, great vid and thanks for sharing. I got a Sonicake Volwah on its own for Christmas, I ordered an extra guitar ‘Ernie Ball Speaker cable’ for output, my question is do I need a pedal board like yours or any other parts for it to work? I’m a beginner. :)

    To me the measure of a wah is how it sounds clean

  • @DaveDexterMusic
    @DaveDexterMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just got one. The one issue, which I assume is with my rig since this and other videos show the wah as pretty quiet, is that the wah is incredibly noisy when activated. Even when cocked back and without any pedals or gain after it. Fidding with psus might help.

    • @matthewratcliffe1953
      @matthewratcliffe1953 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Had exactly the same issue! So noisy and started getting major feedback. Not impressed sadly.

    Hey Rob! I'm really interested in this pedal and I was wondering how well it works for bass. Do you think you could post a demo of that sort or direct me to a demo elsewhere? I can't seem to find anything myself. Thanks!

    • @RobGalley
      @RobGalley  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi unfortunately I don’t have a bass guitar so I couldn’t demo it on bass myself, but I’d be highly surprised if this didn’t work well with bass - it’s small but has a great tonal range. Also for the price you can’t go wrong tbh!

    How do you bypass this pedal for a part of a song? Should it be in wah mode? And if it's not pressed does it bypass the sound?
    If I am correct if it is in volume mode it has a spring and your leg should be there all the time?

    Sounds good. Is it made of plastic or metal? It looks like plastic. If so does it seem like a high grade plastic or something that is gonna break quickly? Thanks

    • @RobGalley
      @RobGalley  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s plastic but it’s tough stuff, it’s definitely not that flimsy brittle stuff that will break as soon as you step on it 🤟

    Hey guys. I bought a Vol Wah - it didn’t work. Sonicake sent me a new one. This one doesn’t work either. Any idea If there is a Button to turn it on? Maybe I am just stupid. Just want to mention after I put in the adapter, I pressed the pedal but nothing.

    How about its durability? Does it use a hall sensor or a pot with a string to swell the volume?

      big tone suck and volume drop when switched to volume.

  • @myhobbies8387
    @myhobbies8387 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it durable?

  • @justlooking1412
    @justlooking1412 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Warning! Buyer beware. I bought this pedal only to find that when using as a volume at full on, there is a big volume drop. And my tone was sucked right out. Like a blanket over my amp. Turning up your amp won't solve this issue. It is okay as a wah. But my amp performs poorly BC of the tone suck of it. So unusable as a volume pedal. Unless you want the drive and sound of your amp to be ruined.
