I like Thom York's voice. It sounds as it's gonna crack anytime, yet it never does.
I never thought of Thom’s voice like that, but thanks to your comment, now I do. I hate you.
I love it. Though I have heard his voice crack, but it doesn't do anything to the quality of what he's singing. It just fits with it

Seeing this video on MTV at 2 in the morning as a 14 year old was a crazy experience. Never seen anything like it
How I miss the old nights, pure unironic poetry
Me too, I remember they’d censor it in the day and cut off before the dude stripped to the studded thong and you missed the ending
I miss the experience staying up late as a kid or early teen, seeing the things that fit the late night vibe you never got to see.
Dude same! This was my first concert, they opened for Alanis Morrisette, I was 15, it was AMAZING 🤩
Bro I've been looking for this song since the 90s. Some kid from TikTok pointed me in the right direction.

Man this song is so much better after not listening to it for five years then coming back… Absolute masterpiece
This song is one of the best examples of the concept of "organized chaos". It's a swirling, churning, rising, tumbling, cacophony of sound & melody. It's frantic, frenetic, melodic, melancholy, on the border of bedlam but yet somehow never loses control. A work of GENIUS! IMHO.
Also, animation is great but try this: ignore the images and just listen - they distract from the sound and have little or nothing to do with the lyrics.
They have everything to do with the meaning. Open your eyes not just your eyes and Realize.
There are no results for "paranoid android mock thee give away state secrets I'm 9, upside down inside out, and one minute ahead of time d 6 I M M I 6 + 1 minute radio head SOURCE MOST HIGH DIRECTOR OF MI6 telepathic lines of communication watcher"

There are some Led Zeppelin songs that were less than or almost 15 minutes long.
When I was around 7, my mom used to go to the gym twice a week but because no one could take care of me at home, she would take me with her, where I would wait for her to be done in the reception of the gym. I usually did homework or played with my DS, but there was also this one big TV where some music video TV channel was always on. That way, I ended up watching lots of mv's but one stuck with me. I just remember a lady coming out of a tree and flashing to some guys, a fat man getting his limbs thrown into the ocean, and some bridge scene. I was 7, so it pretty much traumatized me because it was so dammed vivid. I tried to find that mv for 12 years, but nothing. Ironically, I've been listening to radiohead around 4 and this one song was one of my favorites. I always use Spotify, but still, I have no idea how I never came across this legendary video. Just imagine my surprise yesterday, looking this song up on YT, and finding that weirdass video from my childhood. That way, I can say radiohead has always been with me, be in the form of music or in the form of nightmares.

Hands down the creepiest song of my lifetime. I'm 41 and I've heard this song for the first time about 1997 when I was only 15yo. The song and the video creeped me out from the start and I can assure you that it still does the job 26 years later.
It’s terrifying right? Musically it’s a masterpiece, but the utter trauma that seems to have produced it ripples right through your soul. I’m kind of shocked that anyone could hear this song or watch this video and not be horrified.
The animator who made the video is a semi famous swedish animator who does actual children’s shows.
All of us here are sharing the same ’suddenly seeing this as a 7 year old and thinking it was a cartoon’ story.
But for us swedes it becomes extra jarring as it looks IDENTICAL to other shows that aired at the time.
Also i think the artist snuck in all those swedish flags on purpose.

This song helps me through hard times. Lately I’ve been upset about what happened not too long ago with me and my best friend. It was 4th grade, the school year was almost over, and I was eating lunch with my friend. Who would’ve known that would’ve been the last time I’d ever seen him. We were neighbors too, so sometimes after school we’d hang out. I had thought he went home early due a doctors appointment, because that’s a common thing in our school district. We both liked the same music, especially Radiohead. I never knew where he went, or what happened to him. I wish he’s okay out there, wherever he lives now. I miss you, Layne.

Radiohead commissioned Magnus Carlsson, Swedish creator of the animated series Robin to make this video. The band sent Carlsson a recording of the song without any lyrics because they didn't want the video to be too literal. He locked himself in his office for over 12 hours listening to the song on repeat while jotting down visual ideas for the video, which features Robin and his friend Benjamin from his animated series. I'm guessing around the 11th hour of being locked in his office, his ideas started getting a bit weird...

For those curious, the song's title is a reference to Marvin The Paranoid Android from the works of Douglas Adams. The line about kings & first against the wall is in relation to Marvin's in-story creators, a robotics manufacturer known as the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation, whose products were known for being so faulty that the only part of the company to show a consistent profit is the complaints department. Hi I Recommend an indie rock song Called 'The Bond Villain' By Robert Nix
Their early work was a little too Brit pop for my tastes, but when OK Computer came out in '97, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Pink Floyd, but I think Radiohead has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
I see what you did there
In 2000, Radiohead released this 👉 Kid A, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "The National Anthem", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. @@munguserianbreaks2003 what do you mean by "robot"?
Been looking for this video forever. I remember it coming on mtv all the time, growing up. It was one of my favorite videos for how funny it was. Cool seeing this again.
Its my life
"A six and-a-half minute long song about a sad robot."
Tendervigilante96 nope, not an Android
I'd pound that robot in the ass any day!!
Tenacios D "I am a Robot" look it up xD
A paranoid one
Tendervigilante96 Until you realize that we are the sad robots...uh androids.
I really wish Radiohead did a few more prog-rock epics like this.
holydrones They still just might
A few more....like it's a piece of piss. Feck me.
Thom: "Come on Ed's, let's make a few more Paranoid Androids, dafuq are you playing at?! Lazy shitestains."
Peter Bright The oddest part about your comment is that Ed was the one who wanted to keep going in the direction of guitar music. It was more or less Thom's idea to shift the bands direction in the way they did.
@@tml- You have completely missed the point of my comment.
Jigsaw falling into place is complex too, its stricture is very nice

Way way way back in the day, I found this videoclip (through Kazaa en 2001, after 9/11 and losing a fatherly figure). This was my first exposure to RH. The video made me feel icky while knowing this band would change my life. I’m 37 now and yes, I’ll hug that 14yo version of myself.
Sorry for your loss bro. I know exactly what you mean, this song used to hit me like no other when I was young and missing that father figure in my life.
The angel grabs the depressed boy and puts him behind the controls, as if to say, it’s your life...do what makes you happy.
nice interpretation...I like it
And then the angel shows the boy that nothing is really in his control as life is pre determined and you cannot stray from that path. This is shown when the angel lifts the boy above the ping pong table and shows him that the ping pong paddles were still playing.
What if nothing does it?
@@jvcg1335 nothing does what?
Why the the ‘president’ came back to the tree ?
5:41 this part is the reason why I love Radiohead to much, somehow with startlingly polar opposite forms of music the part before fits perfectly in with this one, it’s a perfect form of music. Thank you radiohead
3:35 for the rain down part. i love it so much
Please could you stop the noise?

This video made me fear the adult world as a kid
- Hugo - for some reason Radiohead's album covers/ music scared me as a kid.
Same hahaha
Thats the intention.. All in this video is real with a beatifull voice telling you. World is dangerous
Funny how these days we have reason to be paranoid due to android. Mobile phones.
- Hugo - I still fear it as an adult
I started watching Ergo Proxy today. It's animation is similar to SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN, which is a nostalgic anime to me. The anime itself, in terms of plot is interesting and reminds me of Evangelion with all of the talking through electronic tools at the beginning.
Just finished it today. Glad to see another anime fan out here!
SAME
ergo proxy totally a masterpiece
Omg samee
Serial Experiments Lain really reminds me of OK Computer which brings almost similar themes.
