Lips the Bb4 note in hero but sustains and adlibs a c5 and above. Mariah and her eccentricity. Lol

+Jerry Smith It's called an amazing gift from the one and only God! Mariah is extremely blessed. There will never be another that can sang, do vocal runs and belt it out like her.
Last night was absolutely breathtaking... One of the best nights of my life, if not the best. I started sobbing when the curtains first opened for Vision of Love. But, if that wasn't enough, then I literally got to MEET HER!!! She was the sweetest and kept apologizing for not having shoes on because we were the last ones to take a photo with her. #lamb4life

Is it just me or does Mariah's voice sound more powerful than in the 90's? She sounds amazing! And that Emotions Intro was insane!
That Hero ending was incredible! Her voice sounded great there...very powerful, resonant and just grand and epic. Even the melody she improvised for that part sounded amazing. That is one hell of a way to close the show.

She doesnt sound like 90sriah at all, she's started to develop a new tone that makes this era unique. Am i the biggest fan of her tone rn? Not really, but her vocals are still so impressive, and i love her so much 💖

I like how she changed the style of emotions, to match her current vocal range, it is so ANGELIC AND STILL CANNOT BE DUPLICATED! Her voice is very interesting.
although I heard some vocal cracks (and I think they're not intentional...) this is one of her best nights, and I am so happy I am kinda sure she was singing live... kudos to her!!! 💞💞💞🎶🎶🎶🎉🎉🎉

Why doesn't she make an acapella version of some songs instead of playback or partial playback. I mean, she sounds fabulous while singing Hero (Outro), she sounded great in Jamaica singing the final notes of WBT after the long C5, when she returned and sang "We belong together".
Mariah has much more to show then just sing the songs in a regular way (I am not saying she just does it, she does great with TGIFY).

There is something about her tone for after beautiful that kinda irks me. It's like something after 2012/13 happened and her tone changed.
The tone change you are talking about started around 2011, but now it's changing again so we have to wait and see where it goes. It's sounding much more lighter and clearer than years before.
+OhYeahItsJake I think this voice issue happens to every woman and of course age matters too. Our chords turn dry if we don't keep em well. Then the voice won't sound fluid nemore. I am only in my 20s and my chords would irk me too if I abuse them a lil. And the weather is major too. But this clip shows better Mariah's singing than during her Cannon era. Nothing stays the same forever I guess. Hence we have the albums :)
it has become very compressed and quirky. i know what yr talking about..she snaps at the end of each rising belt cause her nodules wont let her add vibrato at a rapid pacing anymore..

Now in Europe her tone is so good! Event at the Beacon Theater 2014-2015 her voice was like 1995! But in vegas i think it is so dry it changes her voice a lot! I remember in 2013 her autralia shows she was very 90's! And last year in Jamaica her voice was so DRY remember her VOL she sounded like some Blues Singer lol!

why right the notes in these videos? It's ridiculous and so distracting. We have ears and hearts to appreciate the singing thank you!!!
I'm a HUGE Mariah fan. Yes she is hitting notes that you publish, but the quality of the notes and voice are really suffering. I think Mariah should either seek surgery, injections, vocal rest, or transpose the songs to a key that is comfortable for her. I just don't want to see her go out like Whitney on her final tour. (&put down any type of smoke product too)
+Kris Shannon She hit a lot of quality notes, notes that had resonance. Her voice is in far better shape than Whitney's during her last 10 years.
Mariah's voice unfortunately sounds like it is in terrible shape. I hope it gets better. I love her music and concerts.

You've got to be kidding right? People singing just as long as Mariah still sound as good as they did 20 years ago. I WISH Mariah did, but she just doesn't. Still praying for her vocal restoration though.
Kris Shannon Tht's not true. A lot of people with 26 years of singing don't sound the same. Mariah has had nodules since she was a kid. So she has been singing with nodules since she started her career as a back up singer 31 years ago. Currently her voice is not bad, she is not in her vocal prime, but that doesn't mean she can't sing because she has current performances that prove she can still deliver very good vocals.
Her voice definitely not nearly as gr8 as it used to be mainly because she has overused it for the last 26 years, and not taken care of her voice. But she is still better than many out there now.

Consistently sharp and flat and a very tired voice. Sadly, her voice hasn't held up after so many year. I still love her, but let's get real.
+Steven Peters She was singing in key, with good breath support and resonance through many parts of this video. And her current voice is more consistent than this. She still is a great vocalist, even with the disadvantage of having nodules since childhood.
lol she was in key and the fact that you said 'consistently' means you're either tone deaf or just want to have something bad to say to her which you most likely does
