The whole narrative that the reason LeBron doesn't put out much effort on the defensive end is that he puts out so much effort on the offensive end. I watched MJ late in his career career still putting up a lot of points and still being a defensive stopper. It comes down to LeBron doesn't want to put out that much effort!
Are you talking about on the Wizards? MJ was extremely inefficient he was a chucker at that point in his career.

I don't care about the turn overs like a lot of his haters like to point out, those are part of the game just like in football fumbles and interceptions are part of the game. My problem is when he turns the ball over he just stands there and doesn't run back. One of Jordan's Iconic play now is Ron Mercer stealing the ball from him and Jordan chasing him down and blocking him with two hands. He also has one against the Knicks in 92 playoffs where he intercepts the inbound pass, someone steals it from him and has a clear path to the basket but Jordan hustles back and knocks the ball out of that players hand.

The casuals see the chase down blocks and think he's this great defensive player. He never guards the opponent's best player. There are no examples of Lebron locking up a superstar player for an entire game and no examples of him locking up a superstar player in the playoffs or Finals. Compare vs a guy like Draymond who is 6'6 and has averaged 1+ block a game 6 times in his 12 seasons. Draymond 3 inches shorter and not as athletic as Lebron. Draymond has only averaged 2 steals once in his career but that season he led the league in steals. Jordan averaged 1 block a game or more 4 times in his career and averaged 2+ steals in 10 different seasons. Once averaging 3+ steals per game. Not to mention Mike did guard the opponent's best player about half the time. Those 2 guys are DPOY material not Lebron.

Forget about LeBrons no defensive effort or his offensive efficiency. Let's talk about his effectiveness as a Laker. He won one title for Lakers while Kobe five so Kobe is still ahead of Le Flop and the Lakers fans are already pushing aside the greatest Laker players like Kobe, Shaq, Magic and others and they are all praising LeFlop who could only win one title for great club. James never expanded his game. Jordan developed a mid range jumper. Than expanded to be a solid three point shooter. Jordan mid range game became lethal especially his post up. He also gave maximum effort on defense. James is the same now as he always was. Just far less athletic.

when I was in high school we couldn’t afford a baseball team so I played slow pitch softball with a bunch of old guys. Our shortstop was in his 40s and he was good but if he made an error he’d start limping around the infield in between pitches of the next batter then the ball would be hit deep in the hole and if he made a great play that limp suddenly disappeared. That’s what I think of when I see Lebron on the court. He acts like he was fouled or he injured something if he misses a shot or turns the ball over.

I'm all for criticizing Lebron but to say he shoots low percentages isn't accurate. However, we should note why he shoots high percentages: a league with offense friendly rules. Lackluster defensive efforts by opponents NBA defenses usually being spread out and defensive three second rule giving Lebron open lanes to the basket. Of course since Lebron is poor from the mid range, most of his points are in the paint which is why his percentages are high. Lebron knows the casual fan doesn't understnad rules differences, they think his stats are equal to those of MJ's era when they're not, considering how assists are overcredited today and points are easier to come by.
