I will start adult confirmation classes the 28th of February 2024 and I already choose my saint. She is Our Lady of Guadalupe. I have always been drawn to her because of her purity and Chasity. My dad (who went to heaven 4 years ago) was named Guadalupe. That also draws me closer to Our Lady of Guadalupe. I also already wrote my essay. Makes me feel so prepared.
Welcome home...... I promise you will never regret the choice to become Catholic. Another great thing is you'll never stop learning because the faith is so rich. 2000+ yrs of history. So don't rush to learn it all at once. God will reveal it to you in His timing and it will be beautiful.
My Confirmation Saint is Saint Catherine (of Siena) after my mother's Christian name. My daughter couldn't decide on a Confirmation saint and we all spent much time discussing and praying about it with no luck. Until, that is, the remains of St Thérèse of Liseux came to spend a night in our (Australian) town. We attended the Mass and Benediction of course and on our way back from Communion, our retired bishop reached out to my daughter and commented on her beautiful knee-length red hair. As he spoke to her, his expression changed and he exclaimed 'My goodness! You look *exactly* like Saint Thérèse! You even have the red hair! Come, stand by her picture: can you all see the likeness?' We could. And that was how my daughter became Eleanor Catherine Marie Thérèse.
Been thinking of who should I pick up and st Benedict keeps popping up , and then I clicked on this video and see your comment . I think I know who my saint shall be
TH-cam suggested this video in my feed and I’m glad it did! My confirmation saint is Saint Hannah. I haven’t thought about her much recently. I’m thankful for this reminder. As a mother I’m inspired by her example of giving her child to the Lord.
I’m going through adult confirmation and I’m highly considering Saint Padre Pio. He was bold in standing up for Christ, was open to being used mightily, and was devoted to the rosary.
I recently converted to catholicism this past year. Last fall, I chose Saint Angela Merici she was the founder of the Ursuline order, basically creating the religious order within the Church. I gravitated towards her as an educator myself. At the same time, I was also confirmed on Divine Mercy Sunday and have come to see both Saint Angela Merici and Saint Faustina as my patron saint. Both of them have helped me through my journey of conversion, my career, and my relationship with Jesus. ❤
I am considering her as well. Reading a great book called “The Life of St. Mary Magdalene” by Bp. William George McClosky. I’m learning a lot. God bless!
I am looking to start RCIA. I’ve contacted the closest church by email. I unfortunately have a lowered immune system from metastatic breast cancer so I’m not sure how to go about it all especially since I never know when I’m going to feel ok. My targeted therapy is working well but I still have bad days. I’ve fallen in love with this faith and am already baptized trinitarian formula. So confirmation would be next for me after RCIA. I already know I want to pick St. Mary Magdalene because of the darkness she endured and was delivered from. Her dedication to Christ right at the foot of the cross. The fact she was the first to see Him alive again and proclaim the gospel. Magdala was a fishing town and fishing is a livelihood where I live. She’s also a Saint for converts. I’ve been Christian again for almost three years after 14 years away but I feel the Catholic faith is the fullness of the Christian faith and I cannot deny certain things about it anymore. So I’m converting so it makes sense to me to pick her.
@ I did after! I’ve been in RCIA since early October and will be confirmed at Easter Vigil. Been going to Mass regularly unless it’s the time of the month my white blood cells are at their lowest or I’m having a bad day feeling unwell. If I can’t make an RCIA class one of the instructors who said she’s going to be my sponsor will go over anything I need over the phone or zoom. Finished part 1 before Christmas and Part 2 will start in January!
I was fortunate that the saint I chose was never a question. I knew right away and with absolutely no hesitation who it would be. In a way I think either she chose me or Jesus chose her for me. It's St. Therese of L'sieux. There was an instant connection with her for me from a young age and there was never a thought that my choice would be anyone but her. I even adore her entire family and have loved learning about them. It's such a unique story and family..... really fascinating family and great role models.
@@CatholicKatherine As an adult, now I'm dedicated to Our Blessed Mother ❤ (I still love St. Francis of course!) Our Mother usually comes to me as Our Lady of Guadalupe ❤
I have st. Michael as my conformation saint, because I love blessed Mary and I am tired of blessed Mary crying because of what satan does to her beloved children!! I have asked God, our heavenly father to give me the strength of Samson and the grace to hold satan down to let blessed Mary crush satan's head!!! St..Michael help me accomplish this goal of mine, to hold satan down so blessed Mary can crush satan's head!!!
I grew up in a humble family and from a young age I was taught the values of our Catholic faith, but whenever I was asked, what was my religion? I answered timidly that I was Catholic. Time passed and today who ever ask me and I proudly answer that I am an Apostolic Roman Catholic. About Confirmation Saints I have two: Saint Michael the Archangel and Padre Pio. Congratulations Katherine, very good presentation, you are doing very good job over there , keep going. QUE DIOS TE BENDIGA SIEMPRE ✝️😬🙏
Hi Katherine, I have a confirmation name given by the Father. I would like to know if you would add the confirmation name after your middle name or as your middle name? As a Chinese, I never had a middle name. Not sure if I should put the confirmation name as the a middle name. Please advise Thank You!
Wow I didn't know this. I thought Western Catholic remove this. Catholic people in Asia still do this. But unfortunately if I wanna change saint name it require complicated procedures.
I have a question- I said “yes” to the archbishop aloud. I said No! In my heart. I was forced to make confirmation. Is it void? Since it was based on a lie?
