      I think I have very simple explanation. You might notice that every art shown is by different artist, and Procreate is way more popular than Sketchbook, you will easily find lots of artists that have artworks drawn in Procreate, but you will barely find "good" arts drawn on Sketchbook, simply because of it's popularity. My guess is that the author was glad to find atleast some artworks from Sketchbook!

    I've used Sketchbook for a few years now, and can do anything with it that I can do with traditional paints or inks.
    And so far, haven't had any bugs or locking up with it.
    I'm currently using it on a Samsung Tab S8 plus, BTW.
    ( It's like having an electronic version of the paper sketchbooks that I used for decades. )

    • @guarddog318
      @guarddog318 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thegamingguy3153 - I learned to sketch/paint digitally by simply doing it.
      It's just a matter of using the same techniques I learned for paper or canvas, and adjusting them where needed.
      If you can draw or paint in the usual, traditional manner, then you can do the same electronically... with practice.
      The hardest part will be learning the ins and outs of whatever app you choose.

    Wow, that was an unexpected victory.
    I use Sketchbook and my wife uses procreate. My impressions of procreate are that it has a slightly steeper learning curve but more useful features. both apps definitely work for whatever you need them to do though.
    It occurs to me that I viewed procreate more positively because my workflow involves a lot of photo editing techniques. It is still illustration but with a little bit of a crutch to help with the limitation of using a cell phone. me and my wife would always compete with each other about our two programs but watching this video made me realize that I am doing the things that procreate is good at with Sketchbook and my wife is doing the things that sketchbook is good at with procreate.

    I really dislike the fact that Procreate only cater to iOS devices. There's something smug and amateur about it because they should very easily be able to make it hardware and platform agnostic.
    It's almost like they're signalling the idea that to make great ("cool") art requires Apple hardware, which of course, is an archaic and now outdated cliche that was the norm 10 years ago.

    I used Autodesk Sketchbook since 2017 on my laptop before I switched to Procreate on my iPad
    last 2023. Sketchbook, in my opinion, is a good and free digital art software for beginners but the limitations are the stabilization and less features who wanted to try digital art while Procreate is also great in terms of features and it is one-time payment, meaning it was worth it unlike Adobe Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint, which you will pay per month or a year but the limitations is that it is only available on iPad devices, which is expensive.

I also use my phone and have done this for years, you dont nessesarely need something big and expensive to make art but i do have to say that even when people beg me to try ibis paint, i refuse to cus i dont like its interface and im so used to making art on sketchbook. why switch now when people love my art and think its made from some masterful expensive program.
