Compare this game with NHL 94 and it looks so much different and play so much better with extra features and all sorts of extras. Now try comparing NHL 2021 to NHL 2015 and it's pretty much the exact same, I hate video games nowadays. There seems to be no progress and everything just gets worse
Hardware isn't changing much, diminishing returns in graphical fidelity is a problem. 3D models go from having millions of polygons... to millions of polygons. The next frontier is lighting, in particular raytracing.

I loved the intro on NHL 99 but the gameplay was terrible, at least compared to modern NHL titles.
Gameplay was amazing. Remember, this is 20 years old.
