Can we appreciate how Dr. Nefarious is a genuinely tougher fighter than his Emperor counterpart? Like we get a full boss fight with the good Doctor, but the Emperor, once his giant robot is destroyed and his loyal army vanquished, goes down in a single blow.
Not to mention he fights Ratchet and Clank himself for all of his boss fights. His army showing up to help him is very infrequent and he never calls for their help. They just show up.
For real, our Nef is much more experienced when it comes to combat and all that. The Emperor, however, is just a coward: he hides behind his followers and armies instead of confronting the enemy head on. The only reasons he's emperor is because he's physically imposing and uses intimidation tactics. Our Nefarious had to work to achieve his goals while the Emperor had everything handed to him on a silver platter simply because he looks intimidating. (I'm not saying he isn't a threat though, that guy packs some serious power when he wants to use it)
@@aspiebirdgrrrl6546 I'm curious how the Emperor even created his army of robots to begin with? Nefarious had help from the Tyrannoids and built his first robot army himself with Lawrence. Not to mention scientists from Planet Dax. Then in Polaris, he made a deal with Lord Vorsolon and had help from the Terachnoids to build his space station and his legion of robots. Other than that, it was mainly him and his butler where in this game Lawrence was in Paid Paternity leave so it's just him. Nefarious had to build from scratch again and again to even become remotely of any threat.
That boss fight in Up your Arsenal is probably the best in the series.
The one downside to always winning without effort is that you never receive the lessons and strenghtening that come with failure

Eh, in the 2016 movie I didn't mind that he wasn't a robot yet, in fact, it made me a little more interested in him and how I could visualize him if he didn't get turned into a robot.

I just want to point out, that the 2016 Remake is not considered Canon by both Sony and Insomniac, and that "Rift Apart" continues the Story that was left behind in the "Into the Nexus."

Not to mention that if Insomniac said so themselves that 2016 is not Canon, and Sony later supported it, I don't think there's much more needed to say...

I'm not tackling the weapons, because the weapons are obviously gonna return, simply to have more of them for the player. That's pretty much it.
The "weapon details" are not references at all. They looked good, so they kept them. If they already had models made for a newer generation, why would they take the ones from PS3 and PS2, instead of just using the PS4 models...
There are few differences, but that can be explained by "A Crack in Time" since already in "Into the Nexus" we had some differences from the original timeline, simply because of what happend in "A Crack in Time."
And the "hungry adventurer" was in both versions, just that since the 2016 had to be on par with the Movie, they mostly highlited the "Space Rangers" part, because it was better for the Movie.
And in the original trilogy, Ratchet was still an over-fun of Qwuark and the Guardians, so I don't see a difference there...
The point about Sheep(...) in Rivet's Universe can be tackled as simply an Easter Egg, since - like you said yourself - it happend in her Dimension, not ours.
There only references to 2016, that do actually count, are Easter Eggs.
Doesn't change the fact that Insomniac gave a big middle finger to the 2016 Remake back in 2017; and the core producers literally said in the Interviews couple of months ago, that "Rift Apart" will continue the story left back in "Into the Nexus" and continue the original timeline of the events.

I mean, the same argument would be like saying x thing from the og trilogy isn't cannon cause they updated a texture or something in the hd remake.
Also, regarding the hall of heroes, the city in the other ganaes had tons of iconography for heroes. Half the city had Quark's face on it, so just cause a Hall of Heroes wasn't mentiin much or at all outside 16 doesn't mean it wasn't there.

Dr nefarious robot body is made of stronger alloy than what emperor nefarious was
Building off of Robert, considering how many times Doc Nef gets battered around and slapped up it would make sense he renders himself virtually indestructible to conventional means. Whereas Emp was probably so used to not losing under any circumstance so his present body never got considered as a weakness he needed to watch out for. So Emperor having a glass jaw- er, dome makes sense.
@@newfoundwisdom8532 dr nefarious in a crack in time took a grenade to the face at poiny blank at point blank and only got a scar his emperor version got a big hammer to the face and lost nearly half his face which is weaker than a grenade to the face at point blank.
@@robertharrison1058 Again I was simply building off what you said as I've watched Crack in time. Originally I figured Nefarious just had copious plot armor but after seeing how easily Emp goes down the point I made hits that much harder.

In this game, I think it's fair to point out that Dr. Nefarious is the Main FOIL of the game. Although he's not entirely different from his emporer counterpart, it's close enough to cause him to say "Aw hell nah, I might be retired but invading my dimension is my job!"

Honestly dr nefarious will always be superior to emperor nefarious first reason being nefarious and to work and put effort into being a threat emperor nefarious just relied on intimidation tactics to get what he wanted second reason being nefarious can actually be down to earth when he knows he has to cooperate with this enemies emperor nefarious on the other hand wound t work with anyone who are either his enemies or associated with his enemies and finally nefarious ISNT A COWARD in up your arsenal instead of breaking out the biobliterator early he actually faces ratchet and clank head on without calling in reinforcements to aid him in battle and afterwards he pulls out his big guns when we look at emperor nefarious it’s the exact opposite he pulls out his big guns first and hides behind his power suit like a coward and is only fights when he absolutely has to and even then he summons his army to do most of the dirty work while he attacks from a safe distance sure emperor nefarious can pack a punch but he doesn’t pack it well nefarious on the other hands puts in the effort, he is willing to work with his enemies ( even though he betrayed them afterwards) and is willing to get his metallic hands dirty, so I’m summary emperor nefarious is a THUG while dr nefarious is a villain who is dumb 9/10 times but beware of that tenth time,I rest my case.

one biggest reason for this is apparently in the movie nefarious is flesh and blood again, and for some reason drek isnt dead after being annihilated by his own planet killer.
