We had a demo with one of the first george moate 3m tillers, george brought it his self, it was snowing pretty bad, by time we had found a tractor big enough for the 3 point linkage, snow was 12inch deep !! the land was light sandy, hp we had was 200, far from ample. We/I did many modifcations to the tiller over a full year, 3 point linkage was its big failure, tractor too at only 200hp was also useless.
@@andyhutch8262 wow really? This machine we’ve been working on is a triple bed tiller and is used on the back of an 8R410 - it needs 400 hp and it needs the weight of a tractor that size to even pick it off the ground to transport it as they’re such a lump
@@user-graham1975 thank you, we farm across Devon and have all kinds of soil types within the land we farm. Each land block is different to the next really
Don’t think you’ll pull a 5m Kuhn we have a 4.4 terrano on 370 magnum and she needs all the horsepower, only problem with r terrano and standard d packer can bulldoze on some really sandy going
@Robert-sv4lg really? That’s interesting to know, Horsch have suggested that their 6m would require 370 HP so it’s interesting to know that the 4.4 needs all of that. The operator here said he’d have no trouble with the extra 1m come the spring (and when his back tyres have some life in them!)
If something can work in the worst conditions it’s guaranteed to make a decent job in good conditions. I’m starting to think you might need a bigger workshop door🫣😆👌

Quite interesting new channel. Are you Steve? Or is that the big guy with grey hair?
@@farmernige Steve is the older guy, few greys in there 😂
@SteveLeeAgri are you Steve's son then?
@SteveLeeAgri you boys certainly like the big kit. I bet Smallrigde bros and Beares get all horny when Steve rings lol
@ I am yes, 2 of his sons work for the business
How many acres of wheat you guys growing now?
@@alg7115 this year we’ve got around 600 acres in the ground
@SteveLeeAgri fair amount then. How much of it goes whole crop for digester or is combined?
@ it’s all combined, after growing it all winter Dad (Steve) can’t bear to wholecrop it - also he’s in the combine so it all goes through there
@@SteveLeeAgri good to hear 😂.

@ guess depends what sort of land your on and depth your wanting to pull it but we have tried it on a 728 and she wasn’t a big fan of pulling it

No doubt it would do great job! It’s just whether we can pull the bigger model.
Very true, it can be a tight fit
