Glocks, don't need new barrels...waste of money...keep it stock.. Reliability is why you buy Glocks...Why mess with that..Spend the money on ammo, and training..
I agree with you. The Only justification for an aftermarket I can see is if you want to throw on a comp or a suppressor, and or needing a full supported chamber to run hot loads. Also if you buy one as a range toy just to modify for fun and change the look. Otherwise there is no real functional purpose to swap barrels, and you start to move away from the reliability of stock glock parts.
I only change barrels so I can use my suppressors. 90% of my handguns have a threaded barrel and I got a drawer full of factory ones that have never been used.
In my lifetime at least 30 Glocks from 9 mm all the way up to 45 357 sig and every time I've just went to change the Glock barrel just for s*** and giggles it would jam and never never really worked as well as the factory and I'm not talking about cheap aftermarket Bros $200 and up from some of the best companies out there take it through experience the barrel that comes with the Glock you can't beat it especially if you're going to carry it to save your life I also talked to many companies like Underwood and Buffalo bore who make the high pressure rounds for they all told me we use stock Glock barrels do not change your barrel the stock Glock barrels what we use and they are super super reliable happy New Year everyone that's just my two cents
@@tommcstacker4216 that is an excellent question my friend I did not ask that one I only asked them for their plus plus ammo 9mm 115 to 147 gr that is a very good question you should email them and ask him and see what they say
Just got in the AIM JTT barrel. Reduces the recoil and was accurate out to 10/15 yards. After that started going left on me. Fun for the range though. And for the price, worth a shot.
I Bought my Handguns and built them to my likings. I have a 9mm Shield Plus and installed a 3 5/8 inch True Precision Threaded Barrel, and added a Hogue Grip. I also bought a 9mm Shield (used for $220.00). Upgraded the trigger. Installed a 3 5/8 inch Threaded Barrel from Faxon, and a Hogue Grip. Great Stability , Better Accuracy. Reliability 100 percent.
For me, the only reasons I would change the barrel is to get something else. I would go to a threaded barrel if I wanted a muzzle device, but I'd look for OEM first. The other reason would be fir caliber conversions.
I Bought a ported Carlson barrel for my shockwave and sold the stock one for what I paid for the Carlson on eBay! I think I just lost out on shipping maybe like $40 at most, I don’t remember exactly but all I know is it was worth it! Did it years ago idk what either barrel sells for now but I’m sure it’s still worth doing if anyone has a shockwave and wants to upgrade their barrel.
First of all mad respect to your channel and videos. But I feel for your EDC your best bet for post shooting day in court you are better off with a stock weapon from your manufacturer of choosing.
Thank you for the info Spin. Could you please maybe do a video on recoil springs? I’m new to the gun community and Lenny from the Glock Store keeps telling me I need a new recoil spring. IDK
Already talked about that on a video on a 30s barrel I did on mine. Plug the barrel on both sides and soak it in vinegar for a few hours minimum and it makes it easier but the whole process doing it by hand to make it look perfect takes quite some time.
@@Icynez937 yah mine turned out great! But I’ll use my buffer from now on lol. I just wanted to do it to show anyone can pretty up their Glock for like 20 bucks and some elbow grease lol. I seriously put like 12 hrs into it haha doing it by hand lol
SPN firearms please give me some advice I need help! I'm a long time subscriber and fan of the builds. Your video's inspired me to purchase a G27 gen 3 last month as my first Glock. I have fired 160 rounds through her and i believe the rear of the slide is now too loose (up & down) causing the shark fin to not fully engage the firing pin safety! When the trigger is depressed the striker assembly barely moves in the channel or gets stuck but if im slightly holding down on the rear of the slide and shake the gun it moves freely like normal! How can I fix this issue? I can't afford to taking it to a gunsmith!
Thanks for all the videos! Happy new year! Hope 2025 is good for us all! Keep grinding, I respect the hustle/ambition. Love getting factory 357 sig barrels but the shield is amazing with the barrel you got/recommend. Love that gun. I always think about reg rifling for 10mm to shoot hardcast lead/steady diet
I don’t remember the brand, I will go check in a bit, but I bought a 6” conversion barrel for my 21. Some of those Liberty 10mm loads chronoed at 2400 fps. Edit, I have two, both Glock store, one 6” and one stock length.
Old Glock? Get a gen 5 marksmen barrel. I run the 19.5 on my G26.4 and its been flawless. Glock 26 is the best SHTF Glock btw. Parts work from most of the platforms in it. Glock gen 5 marksmen barrels have backwards compatibility.
@@joshualittlejohn7915 Every firearm has a unique "ballistic fingerprint". This means that spent bullets and casings can be matched to the firearm it was fired from. Thus, changing the barrel will also change the bullet ballistics. The casing however, can still be matched unless you switch out the other components, such as the firing pin, ejector, extractor and sometimes even the whole slide. I recommend reading "Handbook of Firearms and Ballistics: Examining and Interpreting Forensic Evidence" by Brain J. Heard. Its an amazing book that goes into the forensic detail for all types of firearms
I never understood why you spend so much money on a gun just to modify it… There are so many better options than Glocks. I got rid of mine a long time ago. Just my opinion.
I genuinely enjoy you advocating converting calibers. It’s a great idea to have multiple calibers on a single platform.
Yessir, agreed! Respect and thanks for watching.

@Fergtactical yep..maybe the sights for me, but I like Glock sights..
@@FergtacticalI was gifted a 27 but prefer 26 so I would like a conversion 😉
@ I’d go oem barrel personally but I understand if you wanted to throw a comp or suppressor on it.
I’d say the main reason to change your barrel is to upgrade to a threaded barrel. Other than that, there’s no utility in swapping the barrel.
I got improved performance out of a 7inch KKM barrel on my Glock model 40 Gen 4
All good and valid points but my main reason to swap out Gen 3 barrels is to shoot lead hardcast !!!

In 10mm KKM precision barrels are really popular before gen 5 to be able to shoot hard cast billets

Lenny owns a store and wants to make sales. You don’t need to change out your stock guide rod in your Glock.

They’re double the price of Glocks and are less reliable. They have a lot of problems out the gate.
@Gloccato 679 is double the price? 🤦🏻♂️
