Hello Ken / Carol another great spot too bad you were not able to get up to the lighthouse it looked like a very nice building , nice drone shots again . Take care :)
Hi Shaun. I think the lighthouse is permanently closed to the public because it is unmanned. We enjoyed what we could see and it was good being able to fly the drone 😀👍

Nice to see you using "Brown Bear" coffee bags. The blue Mountain ones are my favourite too. They produce a more rounded full flavour I think. Thanks for the mention as well. I must say I never expected that. Since I never add boiling hot water to the coffee bag I take them with me and a flask of boiling water if I'm out and about. I usually find pouring it into the insulated mug and then adding the bag is best as you get a temperature somewhere between 90° and 80° which I find ideal. It May be colder weather but I still like to get out and about for a mooch. Keep well and keep exploring all the little corners of our beautiful UK. 👍
We are really happy with the coffee bags and find them just the right strength. Thanks for the tip about putting the water in first, that makes a lot of sense 👍 Glad to hear you are getting out and about. Best wishes, stay safe 😀

Loving this adventure, bringing back some wonderful memories.x I have a tiny spirit level (no more than 3in long) stuck on the little shelf in front of the radio !

They use to do lighthouse tours on occasional day in summer in the 90's.A couple of miles North was the site where Britain was last invaded (by the French). Locals rounded them up. Folk lore has that French soldiers mistook the local dress for soldiers!
Another fab film! It gets pretty windy down there by the lighthouse even on nice days! We wild camped once near there and the light kept waking me up (in the car with no curtains), it's surprising how bright it is. Where next? We can't wait. Stay safe both
Someone I knew backpacked around Spain when he was younger. He had some pre-arranged places to stay. His next place was a farm, which was up a mountain. In the early evening he started climbing up the narrow mountain road, hoping that someone would come by & offer him a lift. The road went on & on & on & after a few hours it was pitch dark & there was no sign of the farm. My friend grew exhausted & eventually decided to lay down in his sleeping bag on a patch of dirt next to the road. He thinks some angel must have been looking after him that night because the next morning he discovered he was layng six inches from a huge sheer drop & if he had turned over in the night he would have been a goner.
Hari OM Crikey, I might have been gripping the seat with Carol on a couple of occasions on that night arrival!!! Glad it turned out good. Spectacular, in fact. I think that black car had window liners up (reflected?) so they may well have been camped down too. And now I have visions of the little red van getting crowned with a hunting light array!!! YAM xx
OMG, you had me sitting on the edge of my seat...that drive on the narrow road, at night, not knowing if there was on oncoming vehicle or a deer standing on the road or a sudden wash out of the road, was a real nail biter. I must agree one should never look for an overnight site to stay after dark when one does not know the lay of the land..So glad you made it safely to that destination and I could catch my breath..😅😁. Thanks for the journey...take care from Arizona🌵🌞
Thanks for watching Elisabeth. Ideally we would not have arrived in the dark or at least not without having checked it out first in daylight 😬 Greetings to Arizona 😀🇺🇸
Another great vlog!! Definitely scary driving in the night down the narrow lanes. I've been to that place a couple of times before waiting for the ferry across to Ireland. Hope all is well, take care.
My son in law does wild camping in many strange places, stranger the better for him. He's done the dug outs/bomb shelters, even the middle of a huge round about. We just think they are mad but love to watch his channel. He did the 100 mile South downs way in the summer over a week, all walking. He loves the mountains and woods. Far from the maddening crowd. Am loving your travels, not so keen on them narrow roads esp at night. I think you are so brave, but tell me, how does Carol always look so fresh and good??

That was a scary drive, thankfully you found a great park up. Shame you couldn’t get to the lighthouse but the drone shots definitely made up for it. I think the lighthouse is closed to the public because it is unmanned. Would have been nice to see inside though. Thanks for the tip about the leveller 😀👍
@@LifeistooshortCK As you say have not been able to get over bridge since it became unmanned. As a child in the 70's used to go over regularly and look around (unless fog horn was going!!). The current under the bridge dependant on the tide can be pretty impressive as well.
Bumps and taps probably a fox or badger having a look at you, smelling your cooking. Or a coven of witches/druids going down to the headland to sacrifice someone to the sea.....

Some things we can’t control and thank goodness for the insurance! 🙏🏻 I wouldn’t have been so relaxed about those noises around the van during the night 😳. And Coffee bags, great idea 👍🏻😊
I think we must be used to hearing strange noises around the van at night now as it didn’t bother us at all. Coffee bags are good for great tasting coffee without the mess of grinding and filtering so perfect for in the van 👍😀
@@LifeistooshortCK Here's a thought. Some vloggers use the 'what three words' to say where they were. ie a nice camping spot etc. Might you try this, or do you want to keep them private? I like a lot of yours.
@@tooyoungtobeold8756 we put the what3words for locations in the description of the video as viewers found it distracting when we put them up on the screen. If a location isn’t on the Park4night app we usually don’t disclose the what3words ☺️
We would have much preferred arriving in daylight and if that spot hadn’t been suitable we would probably have had to head back into a town. Those steep, narrow roads are no fun in the dark that’s for sure 😬
I have an idea for you two - if you haven't done it already - you have some fantastic music choices there. Could you throw up a playlist if you ever have the opportunity?
@@LifeistooshortCK yeah something like that (as something in the description would bring people back to the video time and again) or a video playlist of the songs. Granted it could be a bit of work - just food for thought as you guys have excellent music.

That night drive to a park up was a bit stressful. But you successfully found what you needed. Are the places you visit normally without many people? Not in the towns and villages, just around your park up areas? Mary
We do tend to park up for the night where there are not many vehicles. Out of the main tourist season and away from the main tourist routes that is fairly easy to do ☺️
Great videos guys, think I've watched nearly all of them, in preparation for my new van next July. Are you planning to have another go at getting to Spain?
Thanks for watching. We will definitely be going back to Spain sometime but not in the immediate future. Wishing you lots of safe and happy travels in your new van. Bet next July can’t come quick enough for you. We know what it was like waiting for ours ☺️
@@LifeistooshortCK Your right we can't wait it's driving us mad, we have ordered a Ford Transit custom DAY VAN from Autocampers. We have a new twin axel caravan near Llandona beach where you guys went, the van is to compliment the caravan and allow us to carry our boat and bikes back and forth, then winter away in Spain. Keep the videos coming. Howard,.
First time I've seen your video going down basically green lanes at night is generally not advisable unless you know or have walked the route first, if you are thinking of upgrading your lights I would recommend talking to a company called Powerbulbs UK who would be able to advise you on suitable bulbs or extra after market off road lights for your vehicle sadly some are not legal for general road use as they cannot be dipped. The scenery looks great though, you say that wild camping is your ideal thing have you thought of putting the van on all terrain tyres it may sound daft on a small Nissan NC200 but will help if needed
Another idea a set of traction mat's Amazon do a set brand name Jolitac they are not cheap but they are rated at 7t capacity so should be able to take the Nissan NC200 , they are not light though
Great video. We were around there in July and it was stunning. So my hubby veto'd the nissan v200 as the best is too small (he is 6 foot tall) so we got a Renault trafic conversion instead. Ken where/how do you find your nightly stopovers. Do you use a particular app or website? Thanks. Feezee
Oh, bless you! I’ve been searching lyrics to no avail. AND now I’m binge watching the trip that beat you up; you two are very special. By the by, I live in Northern California so this is an additional learning experience: vocabulary, maps…busy researching.
Tapping in the night, do you get that as well? I have it quite regularly. I think I must have something that expands and contracts. First time it was 3 taps , then 4 taps , a couple of times.. but I do the same as you, go back to sleep.
Hi both, I’ve just noticed your flasks you used with the coffee bags. Are they the camelbak flasks you have on your Amazon page? I’ve been looking for something simple to use like that for Dave to take to work in the van. Does the coffee stay hot for some time? He’ll be having instant in his though! Many thanks x
Yes they are Camelbak and we have them on our Amazon page. They stay hot for ages so tell him to be careful when he drinks from it. We tend to leave the lids off because it takes too long to be cool enough if we leave them on.
The Pembrokeshire coast is just stunning. The scenery and wildlife is wonderful in all seasons. Thanks for sharing.

Nice videos, as usual. When were you here/there?
Thanks. This trip was towards the end of September ☺️
@@LifeistooshortCK Thank you. I must pay attention.
So is it back to finding a park up in daylight hours after that? Maybe it wasn't as bad as it looked on camera, or was it?
We would have much preferred arriving in daylight and if that spot hadn’t been suitable we would probably have had to head back into a town. Those steep, narrow roads are no fun in the dark that’s for sure 😬
Very true comment regarding the drone and people's anxiety to lose
Yes and I bet nobody expects to have that feeling until they first get it in the air. 😁👍. All those of us who fly them knows what it feels like.
I felt Carol’s stress lol at night but all credit as stunning place - night time exaggerates your senses.
Too right Stew. Funny how it looked totally different in the morning 😁
I have an idea for you two - if you haven't done it already - you have some fantastic music choices there. Could you throw up a playlist if you ever have the opportunity?
By playlist do you just mean the names/artists or something more ?
@@LifeistooshortCK yeah something like that (as something in the description would bring people back to the video time and again) or a video playlist of the songs. Granted it could be a bit of work - just food for thought as you guys have excellent music.
Ahoy Pirates! :D The balls are gone, lost the bet on poor Jolly Roger! XD Duties kept me away, left me with no peace! :P Dear folks, you got some nerves, I give you that! XD Lovely video again, missed seeing your faces and with my harp eye, I saw the seal too! :D Mornings are not mornings without Ken's jokes and Carol's bravery, that Lady is a Lionheart, I can tell! :) Bear hugs from your Captain
We sure did miss your comments over our morning coffees! Hope you are hoisting the main for another voyage in the good ship Blackthorne soon. We wish you a fair wind ever and always Capt’n ❤️
I never got the hang of drones.Lost two never again lol
Sorry to hear that. Never a good feeling to lose a drone 😞
@@LifeistooshortCK
Your right we can't wait it's driving us mad, we have ordered a Ford Transit custom DAY VAN from Autocampers. We have a new twin axel caravan near Llandona beach where you guys went, the van is to compliment the caravan and allow us to carry our boat and bikes back and forth, then winter away in Spain. Keep the videos coming.
Howard,.
That sounds like a great plan, Howard. You get the best of the weather in Anglesey and Spain. Wishing you all the best 😀👍
Two recent unexpected night drives have shown me how useless the Peugeot Boxer lights are. Dear Santa please can I have a light bar :-)
Yes the NV200 are the same. I really noticed it when I went over that little hill. I fancy a light bar.
Hi Mark. I have been unable to find all terrain van tyres for it. Looks like I will have to fit bigger wheels. Thanks for the tip on the lights 👍
Another idea a set of traction mat's Amazon do a set brand name Jolitac they are not cheap but they are rated at 7t capacity so should be able to take the Nissan NC200 , they are not light though
I have just checked a video I watched from Camper Vibe they took their van to Elite Wheels & Tyre's I hope that helps
I have been to quite a few suppliers but had no luck as they just don’t seem to make them for the NV200. I bet I could get some in Sweden.
hi guys gave a ni e time
Thanks Matt 😀👍
Unfortunately, these vans are not being sold in the USA now.
They’re not being sold in Europe either 🥲
@@LifeistooshortCK Bummer!
Great video. We were around there in July and it was stunning. So my hubby veto'd the nissan v200 as the best is too small (he is 6 foot tall) so we got a Renault trafic conversion instead. Ken where/how do you find your nightly stopovers. Do you use a particular app or website? Thanks. Feezee
Bed
We use an App called Park4Night and also look for likely spots on Google Maps and use the street view for a closer inspection ☺️
17 mins. in, what is the music? I’m enamored.
We will look that up. 👍
Oh, bless you! I’ve been searching lyrics to no avail. AND now I’m binge watching the trip that beat you up; you two are very special. By the by, I live in Northern California so this is an additional learning experience: vocabulary, maps…busy researching.
Super song; do you know the title? It’s 17 minutes in. I asked earlier but haven’t received a reply. Thanks.
Hi. Very sorry we forgot to reply. The song is Walls by Racoon Racoon. Here is a link to the youtube video th-cam.com/video/OysI_DDHl_0/w-d-xo.html
Tapping in the night, do you get that as well? I have it quite regularly. I think I must have something that expands and contracts. First time it was 3 taps , then 4 taps , a couple of times.. but I do the same as you, go back to sleep.
Best to try and ignore it or you can scare yourself to death 😁
@@LifeistooshortCK that happened the other night with a female fox. My blood ran cold, thought someone was being murdered!
@@marionjohansson4235 🙀
6:00 If that is your full beam head light, I think there may be something wrong with them.
That van is sold now. It always passed the MOT 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Thank you very much, that’s really helpful. I’ve just ordered one through your Amazon link. I think it will be just the job. X
Why don’t people walk on the correct side of the road these days? They obviously don’t know the rules of the countryside! 😡
If only we could put old heads on young shoulders 😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Love this! 😄
Another great video, lovely location. My wife has a plea, could you tell us the name of the song just before the end, thanks. George
It’s called Walls by Racoon Racoon 👍
