I'm a 76 year old woman who has always lived simply to one degree or another. However, I'm still learning, and your videos continue to challenge me in the way I chose to live. Well done!
Hola seve!
Me too, in my mid-70's here, enjoying this channel Seve has made! Today's reflexions on not chasing kicks, constant happiness, and highs, are so relatable. I feel it is best to take strong feelings of happiness as if a butterfly chooses to sit for a while on your shoulder. Such a gift to welcome and cherish, slowing down, but not to catch it.
70y old guy USA I have never played the game ,yes I am poor but I live in beautiful quiet forest with my two cats. I am so glad for you out reach hope it makes younger people listen, thank you!
I was voted most likely to succeed when I was a senior in high school. I studied for a respected profession and hated it for seven years. I dropped out and spent a year failing at a business. Then I did public service which was better but was too irregular. Moved to another state where there there was a greater variety of ways to live. The best thing that ever happened to me was the recession of the late 80s. I had to take a blue collar job to support my daughter and myself. I actually started being able to live a more relaxed and happier life. I did only blue collar work the next 20 years. Best jobs I ever had! Now I’m retired, grow a garden and live a very simple life. Happiest I’ve ever been. They were right, I succeeded beyond my wildest expectations.
Thanks for some great observations. The statement "life feels way better when it is lived for yourself, not as something to be performed" is great advice.
I’m from South Korea and somehow I found your channel. Since then, I’ve been watching all of your videos. It’s really hard not to have ambitions in life while everyone seems to achieve something. But your vids always made me feel calm. So I’d like to say thank you ❤
Hi there, thank you for the video. I have just found you a few days ago. I am in my thirties, but have a progressing disease and I am severly disabled. I often feel sad, that all my work doesn't seem to have paid out and my life will be maybe much shorter and definitely very different from my peers... Not reaching my goals, sucks... But as you mentioned, maybe even with reaching my goals, maybe I wouldn't be satisfied. So, Thank you for the video. Everybody has to find their own way...
I’m glad you noted the difference between your country and others. In the U.S. we have to work if we want health insurance, a decent retirement, and the ability to take care of our families. Many people would love to slow down, but one medical emergency can ruin them financially.
Ever since I've read "To Have or to Be?" by Erich Fromm and "Calm" by The School of Life I've never looked back. They've completely changed my perspective on living and now I follow the path that feels right to myself, not others. Success, to me, is to live to see another sunset. Wonderful as always, Seve.
I always told my kids when they were little and would go down the "what if" route to just spit that what if right out the windy. You are a very impressive young man. Stay true to you! It is so refreshing hearing your thought processes on how you have become YOU! My husband and I love your videos. You deliver a wonderful sense of peace, thoughtfulness and freedom! 👏👏👏 Well done Seve! Pat your self on the back, keep that smile on your face, and stay true to you! 💜💜💜
You go Seve! I did the same thing years ago! My family can not understand why i have all my degrees & work the job I work. I paid my way, did the military thing, worked hard & saw what it was doing to those around me. I use ALL of my degrees everyday just in a different way. I am slowing down. I am down to one job instead of three! ALL of these jobs were at my Alma mater. Now I listen to things that will help my soul & cut through all the noise. Like your videos on how to be the best for ME. THANK YOU.
Out of the types of videos you do, this is my favourite type. Just talking about existence, no pressure, calm life etc. You have some great reflections. Thanks
This is wonderful. And beautifully shot. I'm 63 and wish I had listened to my heart and gut when I was your age. Slowing down is the best way to actually live. Thank you for this video and important lesson.
Your videos are so inspiring! It took me so much longer than you to figure out that a simpler, more intuitive life was better. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights!
Unfortunately here in the US you need a certain income just to pay for your health insurance and all the medical copays and prescription charges. When I lived in Europe I did not have to worry about that, but here in the US with my family it takes a lot of our income. Recently a family member needed a CT scan, our payment, after insurance paid their share was $7000! When you have people with health issues in your family, it is almost impossible to get ahead and you need to work to pay the bills. We live as simply as we can, but costs mount up. Europeans with their medical systems are better off, you are blessed to have that. Thanks for another super video.
The difference between you and most other people is that you question everything in your life - accept that what is normal for someone else is not necessarily normal for your life and you are fine with that - your journey is just that - your journey!
I need more content like this in my life. I am so tired of being bombarded by messages of chasing success and fortune and abundance. I don’t care about those things. I never have. I just want to be content and healthy and surrounded by family. That’s all I want.
I really like what you said about the self-improvement culture. The youtube videos about improving yourself can become obsessive, similar to an eating disorder taking over one's life. That feeling that you are never enough just as you are. Thank you for your calm and inspiring videos.
There was this charismatic and confident guy, that I out of the blue saw for the first time - and instantly I knew, he knows what he is talking about, and I then and there started to follow him. He spoke the truth. I picked him - he was on my side. And it was you, Seve. 😀 Every video of yours I have watched I have liked! Keep them coming! (Well, I started to live simple, frugal, slow, and striving to be healthy, etc, etc, before you were even born, so easy for me to recognize your great ideas and charming way to present them!) You give me hope and joy! ☘🌳🌲🌳🌿
When I wake up in the morning I put on the garment of somethingness and go about my day, but I am not that garment, I am the nothingness that wears the garment. Life feels less constricting and heavy when I don't forget this.
The exponential growth of your youtube, Seve, is so typical for what happens when you start out on a new path of your own. I have been a course-leader at times and I've always told that it takes some two years of really hard dedicated efforts to get a new project going. For example, you want to work less, or live on the ocuntry side, or start to take your creativity seriously, or live in a new country with a new partner or even more difficult, four or more such new things simultaneously - you'll learn while doing, but it does take heart and soul and elbow-grease. But only by doing you'll discover what is possible, new ideas and opportunitites show up, which were not visible when you started. Sometimes one has to give up, and sometimes one has to be doggedly stubborn, through sweat and tears. And intuition is a learnable skill, very useful...
It's wonderful that you're living your authentic life and sharing your experiences through this channel. As the Quakers say, 'A simple lifestyle, freely chosen, is a source of strength'.
Absolutely love your videos! I live off grid in London, on a sober and frugal journey, trying to carve out an anti-capitalist life that is grounded in peace. Have had to shed a lot of layers and your videos really help me along the way!
It's never too late to come across this video no matter what stage you are in life or how old you are. It's never too late to think about making a change and it's never too late to start making a change. It's never too late to rethink and rediscover your intentions in life no matter how big or small. Thank you for this beautiful video with a beautiful message ❤ More strength to you for continuing to spread awareness and thank you for changing my life
We are somewhat minimalists,. One of my favorite all-time things is a really nice digital picture frame by Aura and all of our favorite pictures go through there and it really is awesome. That way your pictures don't get wasted and you see them all the time.
I like the way you think. I have been on a journey of self discovery and I very much agree with many of your thoughts. I moved to Finland to be closer to nature and to just be as much as possible... easier to do that in nature for someone with ADHD 😅 I live in Lappeenranta. Wish I had more likeminded people to talk to... people who are awakening in to consciousness. I am a strange person and I am not so good with a generic path. Thank you for your thought provoking videos. 😊
Thank you seve I appreciate you doing this work you are doing a great job I love your channel and it’s helping me with my mental health it’s like medicine to my soul
19 now first year in university and yes there are topics which are boring but just like professor told us today, even if some or most topics are boring you still have to come to class and listen and pass the exam, cuz at the end of the day it all adds up somehow or the other and all go hand in hand, he was telling us about how they were short in manpower and managing the whole pediatric department by himself and assistant professor and even if it doesn’t feel all best you just have to push through One thing that keeps me going is after this 7 years of college (and even in this 7 year journey) I’d be hopefully saving a lot of lives , ofc money is a key too but I think the idea of saving one’s life does give it a meaning to all the struggle and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to study for minimal tuition tho more than 90% of my class pays the typical medschool tuition (enough to put more stress on life for the whole 7 years) yes life’s tough but at the end of the day it’ll all be for a good cause and tbh I really enjoy watching your videos these days and trying to implement few from here and there into my day to day life
Maybe life isn’t about getting somewhere, it’s just about being here 🐦❄️ Observing birds and listening to the chirp keeps reminding me of this lesson every morning so it felt natural to end it with that 😊
Thank you for sharing this. Love your videos and content. Getting away from the constant striving is something I long for. For me, it is why do I do what I do. And can I make a new path in a different career. And what would that be? Sometimes I get lost in the choices or knowing which way to go. Can I make enough money to pay bills etc. thanks again.
It’s not long ago that all humans were only surrounded by a handful of other humans. Life was so much simpler and it was way easier to understand your place on this planet. These days, you have to plan years in advance to be able to remove yourself from the compression of the human sea. This is our main struggle in the modern lifestyle, removing yourself from the pressure of society. It’s near impossible for most of us to understand what we are and how to be.
Finnish genetics have contributed enormously to my ability to be a consecrated Hermitess living in the world. A wise man once said: "Words are the language of this world. Silence is the language of the world to come." with practise, people can perceive the actual differences between warm silence, detached silence, and indifferent silence. Best way to learn to choose your friends. ☺
Just imagine, AI hasn’t even kicked in yet and we are already here at the level of giving up. It won’t be long before most of us are completely useless to the global economy. I hope most of us will be around when that happens and find a way past this challenging transition. The universe continues to expand at an accelerating pace, but maybe we can find a way to slow everything down in our own little sphere of influence.
Old joke: Man comes across a young fellow fishing. "Get a job!! Earn some money. Make something of yourself!" said the man. "Why?" asked the young fellow. "Well, then you can retire and take it easy."
Honestly... as a woman... I envy when men are just like.. "i went and traveled solo" That not only is a privilege for many reasons but as a woman, I still don't feel safe traveling alone. I wish I could and I know women who do but honestly I don't trust it
I’m old. Make your own path young man. You’ll be happier and more fulfilled. Just make sure to save and prepare for your golden years so you CAN be secure, safe, fit, well fed and sheltered. And stop and smell the flowers. That’s really important cause in the end memories are all you take with you. ❤

78 year-old woman here. Learning an immense amount from this young man.

Thank you for sharing. ❤

good videos, good content, i loved the snowed scenes.
I am a big fan of your message. I am a 56 yr old mom and grandma. The more I achieve, the more complicated and unhappy my life becomes.
Lovely video. Beautiful scenery and a great message 😁
It takes courage to change you have to ask yourself what is success

This is an important video.
Excellent video Seve
Thank you so much! Your thinking is a great motivation!
What an awesome sharing, thank you, love it ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching :)
Very good video . I like the way you think about these topics because I think the same as you very often
I started watching you probably half a year ago, and only realised a few months ago that your name is Seve and not Steve :D
19 now first year in university and yes there are topics which are boring but just like professor told us today, even if some or most topics are boring you still have to come to class and listen and pass the exam, cuz at the end of the day it all adds up somehow or the other and all go hand in hand, he was telling us about how they were short in manpower and managing the whole pediatric department by himself and assistant professor and even if it doesn’t feel all best you just have to push through
One thing that keeps me going is after this 7 years of college (and even in this 7 year journey) I’d be hopefully saving a lot of lives , ofc money is a key too but I think the idea of saving one’s life does give it a meaning to all the struggle
and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to study for minimal tuition tho more than 90% of my class pays the typical medschool tuition (enough to put more stress on life for the whole 7 years)
yes life’s tough but at the end of the day it’ll all be for a good cause and tbh I really enjoy watching your videos these days and trying to implement few from here and there into my day to day life
love your videos
I love the bird in the snowy tree at the end! ❤
Maybe life isn’t about getting somewhere, it’s just about being here 🐦❄️ Observing birds and listening to the chirp keeps reminding me of this lesson every morning so it felt natural to end it with that 😊
@@SunnyKindJourney yeah, that's already been found out ...the way/path/journey IS the goal. 😊😊
Walden. Very sane.

Thank you Seve

I'm going to share a scripture from the Bible with you.
Galatians 6:4, 5
Let each one examine his own actions, and then he will have cause for rejoicing in regard to himself alone and not in comparison with the other person.
For each one will carry his own load.
You are a very smart guy. Be your own person.🎉
