  • Explore the shadowy interior of Seti I’s temple at Abydos, the only large ancient Egyptian temple with an intact roof. It is one of the most mysterious temples in all of Egypt, made even more mysterious by the presence of the Osireion located just behind it. Shot in light-gathering large-format 4K that rivals being there in person, this exploration contains some of the longest duration moving shots ever made inside the temple.

    I have read that the temple was found in ruins and no one could figure out how to put it back together. Omm Seti came in and rebuilt the entire thing in 2 years. They said it would have taken scientist 20 years to learn how to restore it. Omm Seti claims she knew how it looked because she was a Priestess for the Temple in a past life. I wonder how they A) got the roofs on and B) got light to the furthest parts of the temple.

      Not gonna lie… it really doesn’t look too hard to put back together
      Archaeologists have put everything back from the Parthenon to TsinTzunTzan

      Don't know about the roof repair but mirrors were used to light the interior. If someone wants to read about Omm Seti, get the books 'The Search for Omm Seti' and 'Omm Seti's Egypt' - both remarkable and include diary clips from Omm Seti's discussions with the 'ghost' or human form of Seti as he visited her in this life. Her book is considered the greatest evidence for reincarnation because she knew where things were in Abydos that she had no way of knowing.

    Curious. No mention of Set & Nephthys nor Anubis? I find that odd considering Seti I had taken his name from Set. Strange to have Osiris reliefs of plenty. I wonder how much Ramses completed for his own interests.

    The Osirion is much, MUCH older than the Seti Temple; when the Seti Temple was built, they found it buried under the sand and had to change the orientation of the Temple to account for it. There are plans to clear the mud and debris out of the Osirion's water and explore down by diving or trying to pump out the water. They've already tried to pump out the water, the spring feeding it is too robust. There are 'niches' or small rooms on the outside of the Osirion complex, each was a room dedicated to a different god. There would have been statues in them that are now long gone. The water depths (very deep) should be explored to look for those statues, in case they were thrown in there by vandals. The water in the Osirion was said to have magical healing properties - read the different Omm Seti books for information about this. All very fascinating.

    Who is giving offerings to the Gods now that the Priestess Omm Sety is gone?

    • @claudiamanta1943
      @claudiamanta1943 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I visited I was not allowed even to utter a prayer aloud. It made me quite angry, actually. Plenty of noisy tourists but I could not say anything aloud, let alone bring an offering.

      It's a very sacred place and I wish the prayers will be heard again within the walls of the temple.... the Lament for the death of Osiris and the rituals. I feel really sad to hear that. While it took you many lifetime to come back, it's in you and you remember. It's unfortunate that you were restricted....

      I don't know how to put into words what I want to tell you without sounding strange. All I can say is it is not weird to be a learned person. The divine wisdom is in you, I felt your energy. There is a disconnect from people nowadays but we all feel something when we visit any sacred ground or when we look at the nightsky. For some people they can live an entire life of not knowing while there are some who can remember. Just hold on to that knowing, it will make you free and happy!

    Seti as in Ta-seti? then this belongs to Sudan in Ancient Nubia, this shouldn't be called Ancient Egyptian.........

    • @abomoaaz7245
      @abomoaaz7245 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The Nuba in Sudan were just tribes grazing sheep and attacking Egyptian farmers to steal crops, so the Pharaoh of Egypt would send them a military campaign to discipline them and they would come to Egypt as prisoners, as shown on the walls of the Temple of Ramesses in Luxor and Aswan

      @@abomoaaz7245I don’t know where you are getting your info from but Ancient Nubia was a much older civilization than Ancient Egypt. Egypt just became far more advanced, but Nubians were just a bunch of goat herders

    The abydos temple was there thousands of years before seti lol look at how weathered an it's down deep into the bedrock this could not be done by seti was done by a much earlier culture I believe it wasn't even Egyptians that constructed the pyramids the atlanteans
