Okay I think most people know and accept that the hitting is meant to be comical. Also this is a fictional show. However, if this was real, if there was a middle schooler who routinely hit his toddler brother to get him to behave, to the point where the toddler instinctively has a defensive stance anticipating violence, that would be very problematic to say the least. Just because sibling abuse (verbal or physical) is common doesn’t mean it should be normal or accepted.

Taka is a very active rambuctious boy who needed a lot of attention. That's why he loves spending time with Ryuichi. It's a shame what he had to work with, with a brother like Kamitani who offers none of the attention and none of the interest.
