Diesel tank shown in video: amzn.to/3RSzoCF
Beautiful slabs. It's so nice to see people being polite to their neighbors. Not much of that now a days. Looking forward to seeing these boards finished.
Nathan , when you passed that log truck on the way to getting your cheaper Virginia farm diesel , did you think to yourself “ yup , just drop those off at my place fellas! “
😆
👍🏴
Wow! Nathan, that cherry is glorious. Sometimes, it's an honor to open up a log and set it free. God bless you, brother.
you’re a good man and a kind soul, Nathan.
Waaaaaay back when I used trees to keep the house warm and make an occasional maul hadle, I sold surplus firewood that kept me in fuel, beer, and far more grub than a standard family of six needs, I cut up a very old and gnarly plum tree that had the tornado syndrome. It had well over 300 22 caliber shorts pretty dadgum deep and spaced well. I ripped a six foot long piece and just plane old gave it to a woman that does this. She gave me a holler And when I saw it, it blew my mind! She said that the copper coated lead bullets didn't hurt the saw at all. Beautiful colors!
As I have said in the past Nathan “the soul of a tree” what a beautiful soul it is…
I do the same for my seasonal neighbor . I shut it down at 8 in the summer so they can have a peaceful evening .
Holy Mac!!!! The Sweet Cherry!!! WooooooooW!!! Keep the Sides cut off the cant!!! For small projects!!!! Should have cut this as Hexagon or Octagon!!!! Less cut of the sides!!! and more wood even though it has the more of the younger wood on it... it counts!!!!
Nathan, a thought about your mill dust collection.
Maybe, you could attach the clear flex hose, to the
folding wiring channel, of the mill, with some large zip ties,
to keep it from dragging on the ground and out of the way.
You will, probably, need another piece of hose and a coupler to do it. 😁✌🖖
P.S.: Kudos and good on you,for thinking about your neighbors.
I have no neighbors, but if I did, I would wish for a considerate neighbor like you.
Love the information you dispense and especially when we get to see the wetted grain in cut logs.
Thanks for sharing with us Nathan, nice move on shutting down like a good neighbor. Stay safe around there and keep up the great milling on this log, it's awesome. Fred.
Thanks 👍
I wish I lived closer . I could make a living off what you call scrap wood .
I appreciate your down-home feel in the content you bring us, thank you.
I appreciate that
OTW...your demeaner is so even!!!!... I really get a kick out of it, when you say..."I really excited" , it like you know we/me can't tell...not a complaint or hating....just my observation....you are on my "must watch" list now....👍👍👍👍👍😎
My sister has a simple ordinary dropleaf table that has some really spectacular boards in it.
There are some amazing boards over 20 inches wide, with no warping.
Many people don't know just how big Black Cherry can get.
That is some beautiful wood. Just another example of the handiwork of GOD.
Holy cow - too bad you couldn't have gotten that log - gorgeous. Stay safe
Thank you. This was a nice way to end my day. Beautiful Cherry wood. You’re a good example of living high standards. Always busy creating something good.
Respect for others is a mark of a good man. God Bless you Nathan😊
Yep, we surely don't want to miss cabbage.
12:55: Always good to be a good neighbour. The last place we were at, they pretended to be and then caused me to call out noise control and police on many occasions.
Where we are now is better, with one neighbour actively interacting and asking for input on any factors that affect both sides of the boundary. The neighbour on the other side is not as friendly but does acknowledge how much I have improved all our properties even though I'm only renting and they are both owners.
You appear to be someone I would love to have as a neighbour.
Btw: Very nice looking cherry.
That's a nice log there, brother. Should bring a premium!
Waiting patiently for tomorrows pour
My cats love cardboard boxes too often hide in them. Beautiful slabs, well done Nathan a pleasure to see. A kindness to neighbours makes for a more pleasant living environment for all.
What a great neighbor. You're amazing.
It's like Christmas in October
That rite there is one of God's masterpieces. You don't get much prettier than that
My friend and I milled a 34” cherry log a few months ago. It was saved from his neighbors burn pile.
Looking good. It was a pleasure meeting you at the Paul Bunyan show.
U2
Some people don't recognize or appreciate the beauty of wood when it's sawyard and milled, 🇺🇲
Thank you for all you do. I really enjoy watching.
Thanks for watching!
I have been thinking about the storage of logs waiting to be milled, Railroad track! Used ties and rails are easily available and many rail companies just dump them alongside the tracks anyway. The only downside I can think of is that the spread between the rails might be too wide, but a center rail could be added to overcome that. They would also give a nice clearance for forks and chainsaws.
nice seeing you again at paul bunyan. hey, how about that crowd? i couldn't believe how many people were at the show - and the woodmizer area was packed!
I'll be honest with you Nathan, I would be happier than a tornado in a trailer park if I could get the butt ends of the slabs on that cherry. I am in Vermont. The commute is hell.
That's a big old Cherry. Never saw one that big. Thanks, Nathan.
hello nathan it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks nathan friends randy and i am enjoy yours video nathan thanks friends randy
I imagine that when you pass a log truck like you did at the beginning, that you look at that load with a different set of eyes than the rest of us. I can also imagine you thinking that he could just drop that load off at your place. LOL. Damn, those are sweet looking boards!
I had the same thought as Nathan drove by that log truck...eyeballing those logs and picturing the board footage. I guess when you have blood in your sawdust stream, that's what you do.
I'd have to call that cherry log a slobber-knocker. I literally drooled when you started scraping the dust off that top board. Good thing I missed my tablet or I'd be getting a new one 😅
That's some beautiful slabs, Nathan !! Enjoyed this video and your great presentation !!
I was lucky to get a John Dow tank like that on Ebay cheap. It is a very good tank. When I needed a second one I couldn't bite the bullet to pay $1200 for a new one, so I bot the 110 gallon Vevoe on sale for 900$. The John Dow is a better tank, but the Vevor is a decent value. The pump works great, and it also has a filter which the John Dow doesn't. The fork pockets on the Vevo aren't as good as the John Dow, so I keep it on a pallet. Both of my tanks are in an old army surplus trailer that I tow to the coop to fill, so I don't use the pockets that much. Happy to have both so over the years I can see which one holds up best long term
Very beautiful log. And great cinematography as always.
Thank you very much!
I can't blame the guy for not selling that log. That is some beautiful lumber.
WOW!, that's gotta be some of the most beautiful cherry wood I've ever seen!, furniture makers would be drooling over this stuff! GORGEOUS!
Even without water, those boards are beautiful. Shame they’re not yours.
Beautiful cherry! Never seen one that big that wasn't rotten in the middle. Good neighbors are hard to come by since you don't really get to pick 'em. Good on ya for being one!
Good to see you up and running again. Nathan, I know you've been fighting that thing so be bless you work hard ❤️
That was a monster.
That is some stunning wood! Beautiful!
Wow. Beautiful cherry lumber.
This vid title is throwing down what I'm picking up!
Considerate Nathan. 😄👍
that is truly some spectacular wood and cherry has long been my favorite
Wow those are some spectacular boards.
Beautiful cherry! I haven't seen a cherry log that big for a while. We sawed Thursday, Friday, and half a day Saturday. Sawed the usual white and yellow pine, a poplar, and the crown jewel, over 600bf of walnut crotchwood. It's amazing. I showed my son the elusive Moonshine Sworl, and he was very excited to watch every slab expose the amazing figure.
very modern wood cutting machine
It sure is!
Amazing cherry boards, some of the best.
Beautiful for sure
Some of the cast off would make some absolutely beautiful knife scales. Cheers.
That sure is a pretty piece of board there but black walnut is still my favourite.
Wow, that is gorgeous!
I have never seen a cherry log near that width in North Mississippi
You're a good neighbor it is someone who lives in Tennessee p mountains, we know you got to be a good neighbor
Really nice cherry log
epic log.
I have a 200 year old solid mahogany dining table which I love, but I’d be tempted to swap it for one made from those beautiful cherry boards. I predict there will be some gorgeous figuring. 🇬🇧
Just WOW!
The beauty on the inside is what counts!! 🙂(and what's inside the garbage box)
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Nathen that is the AWSOMIST (if thats a word) log i have seen from your shop sicen i have been following you!!!!
Wow, big difference in diesel prices
Indeed
What a BEEEEutiful log of cherry! I would loved to have been there to help move the boards. John Toccoa GA🤠
Nice load of logs!
Yum !!!
Love the old logging truck you passed old Ford 9000
Nice grain in that log Nathan
Really nice cherry, I just cut some cherry today 2" inch thick slabs
Nathan, no getting around it, those were some nice cherry boards.
I do wonder how old that piece of Mother Nature's artwork is?!? Nathan...have you ever counted the growth rings on a tree like that? Anyhoo...the 'colors' should really be interesting. Enjoyed the video - thanks for sharing. Be well - many blessings.
you should reach out to thunder creek they make fuel and service trailers you might get a sponcer
I have never seen a cherry that size. I think the biggest I've seen, here in Oklahoma, was probably 24" wide, and it has a fence inside of it.
You said those big wide boards can snap if dropped. I seen on another TH-cam channel the guy had like a peice of angle iron or something on the tips of his drawback arms so that it caught under the edge of the board and he could carry the boards back quite a long way. Then I suppose he could lower the mill head down to set the boards down gently. Have you ever seen something like that?
My goodness
My brother

Challenge accepted
Fill it, transfer all of it to the other one, then go refill the portable one. Or leave it in an area easy for the driver to find.
If you can mount the other diesel tank on a pallet.
I make woodmizer bandsaws Diamond Saw Chaffee NY world's finest saw blades 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wish there was a place that sold farm diesel in my section of Oklahoma, hasn’t been available for almost 10 years.
Look for off road diesel. It is red dyed. No road taxed fuel. Should be able to find it everywhere.
@@johnclark5153 closest one is well over an hour away, so at that point it’s not worth driving that far.
Not fare you didn't splash some water on them wide cherry boards. So you have content to start next video.😄🤠😎👍
Next time!
I see door panels. Maybe I'd have to add 2-3 inches on either side for a 36" exterior door.
Nine inch wide stiles would be the answer.
Hey, a guy can dream.
Am I seeing Fiddleback in that board? or another name....Curl. 2.5 inches thick curly cherry would make fine long rifle stocks. Tom Ireland
Just curious on how much warping, cupping and checking you get on drying a 24" board as compared to a 12" or less.
Did you think of pumping the whole tank over and make another trip?
Nova Scotia Canadian diesel 2.27/L or roughly 4.68/gal it was up to 2.57 / L not long ago
Are you happy with that tank? I've had my eye on the 58 gallon version from that manufacturer.
Yes so far so good
did U have a clear end on that log 😊😊 and did U think 🤔😊 2 count the tree rings 2 see how old that tree is that is a true old school monster 👾😊 red cherry 🍒😊 log ever since I was a kid I don't ever seeing any red cherry 🍒 logs like that around here no where around here if there was it was be 4 my time 😮😮 the only 1 I could ask a fellow that use 2 work w dad at the sawmill 😊😊 and where do people keep finding this monster red cherry 🍒 logs at alot of that old timber was cut and sawed many years ago and it wasn't replanted at all not around here alot of trees are slow growing and it takes them a long time 2 get that size they have 2 have good dirt and soil plenty of good water 💦 😊 and sunshine ☀😊 2 grow let me know what U think 🤔😊 thank U did your dad or dad's father work at the sawmill that is close by 2 day 😊😊 OMG 1O 1O 2O23
You have been cutting quite a lot of cherry lately.
Yes 👍
Do you know if anyone uses a vacuum process to achieve the moisture removal required of dry lumber?
is that spilled diesel? LOL..
Interesting on the state pricing.... Its seems hard to find folks who sell red diesel or deliver...
Is the LT70 the largest sawmill that Woodmizer makes?
So how do you like your dust collection?
