Vanja feels the club much more than anyone from last year. He is the youngest club captain, he knows much better whole situation in the club and in the country and he experienced bad situation in the club which is very important.

Good observation. Partizan's defense this year is really strong and could be key to success in EuroLeague games. We are big, aggressive, and much more athletic. But most importantly, Željko likes to work on the defensive end with players who know how to play organized defense.
When it come to Partizan and Serbian players, only time will reveal the truth about what happened with Smailagic & Avramovic. With Aleksa either he was offered much more money with CSKA or he had some issues with Zeljko. With Smailagic its likely that Zalgiras offered him more money but there is a rumour he has some legal issues with his agent (maybe even mafia) and wanted to leave Serbia for a while. The good thing is we have 5 young Serbian players we are hoping to build up to Euroleague level; Koprivica (24), Nakic (23), Poku (22), Dimitrijevic (18) and Bosnjakovic (18). It sucks that we have to rely on foreign players so much at the moment but I see the club is clearly working to have strong Serbian core in the future.
just one question for you guys is zeljko's basketball philosophy outdated btw as grobar loosing aleksa is just like a kick in the both testicals by pro nfl kicker
It's outdated, and yet, his team was within reach of F4 just 1 year ago. The root of all problems last season was Mirotić, who changed his mind under pressure from politics and Serbian Orthodox Church. Everything after that was improvisation, and at that moment the market was already poor.
Ma sta zastareo , kakve gluposti govoris covek a svaki putxa je slobodan ide i predaje ostslim trenerima , covek je imao po 300 akcija uigranih sa timovima u koje je bilo malo inteligencije pa ga ti scauutiraj... pa sa Fenerom titulu kada je uzeo imali su 200 akcija na raspolaganju u finisu prilikom jednog od tajm aut... proske god sa novim timom fajnal for je bio tu a kasnije verovatno.... uostalom rezultati govore za sebe.@@markomarkovic5729

I am Partizan fan, let make that clear first, I do not have any expectations of our guys but to give 100% of self every game. And if we lose, we lose. No big deal it is sport. And second, Obradovic is a man with most EL titles in history of EL. And he personally hand picked these players this time. This team will rock. Wait and watch. Great analysis btw.
Vanja Marinković is far better player than Aleksa Avramović, and describing him as a role player is selling him way to short. (What is Aleksa other than a role player - if anything he proved last year that he doesnt have a grasp of the game nor the temperance to be anything more, he was given ample opportunity to prove himself and he didn't. I was sad to see Alen go (and Nunally, and Leday), but Aleksa was a liability at times.
Vanja is def not a better player then Aleksa for sure, only 3pts shot is better, ball handling, play making, defense, rim attack - all on Alexa's side.
As a fan of Partizan, I will say that I do not believe in a big result this season. At the beginning, I must say that this team does not have players like Aleksa, Smajlagić, Zack Leday, and Panther. If that team didn't make big progress last season, this one won't because it's a shade weaker than last year.
As Partizan fan, I am not optimistic at all, as you said it, there is not even some Serbian core, not to talk it is definitively not a Serbian team anymore... I guess I will cheer for Zvezda this year, and that says a lot what I think about current state of Partizan, once great basketball school that produced Bogdanović, Divac, Danilović, Paspalj etc., etc., etc. are now in the situtation barelly to have few domestic players and none young prospect at all... Total disaster...

Nemam nista protiv tebe,ali ovo sto cu reci je cinjenica-jednostavno nije bilo domacih igraca koji bi dosli u Partizan,Bogdana,Milutinova je bilo nemoguce dovesti,dok je zvezda imala srece jer je Kalinic bio višak,Dobric je isto bio višak,Davidovac isto,što se tice domacih mladih igraca svi jure u nba
