I had 20 32700 grey (used) batteries from Ali-express promising at least 4500mAh. That is reasonable if you pay 30 euros including shipping to Europe. I estimated having 4000mAh on average with every cell. This gives me a 12.8v 20Ah usable capacity. I am satisfied with that. Using a 30 Watt fixed Solar panel behind glass i manage to charge it almost to full capacity (13.2v) in a single sunny day. If only 1 cell in this batch of 20 is bad or has significantly less capacity my battery is even half that or worse. The BMS will shut down at 10v. It is always a risk buying these used cells from a re-seller.

You may be 100% correct, but if they state 12 amps for a hole hour... they need to provide them... "Other wise, at least in my case, I would buy from someone else" No insult intended..

I bought 32700 (6000mah advertised) from AliExpress , tested about 10 out of 50. None of them had more than 4000mah . Open dispute already and they were saying that my charger it is not charging properly 😂.
I’ve bought 12 same batteries from EBay 6 months before ordering from Ali , all of them 6200mah . My mistake, I was happy saving £80-90 now I have to send them back after 45 days delivering too. Never gonna do this again.

The max capacity of any 32700 cell (that is LFP) is no more than ~7000mAh. The technology is only at that point so far with cylindrical cells. I have yet to see anything test higher. I'm sure if one of the big names spent time on the 32700 cell they could make one thats 8000mAh.

Wait, so you measured about 3.6V in the beginning but when you started the test the batteries were only charged up to 3V? Wouldn't you get more capacity (Ah/Wh) discharging the batteries from 3.6V -> 2.5V instead of 3V -> 2.5V like you've shown in the vid? Why didn't you fully charge the batteries or am I missing something?

@@Bastelkiste1A oh ok, so you only got 5Ah even though they claim almost 13Ah. I found one of their products on Aliexpress that seems too good to be true.
      Look up "48V 18650 Lithium ion Battery Pack 100000mAh 1000w 13S3P XT60 100Ah For 54.6v E-bike Electric bicycle Scooter with BMS+charger".
It's just a little north of 100AUD (~75USD) for a 100Ah battery!! And they seem to even be underselling the power as they claim 1kW but if you calculate 48V x max 30A you get near 1.5kW!
Even if it's less than half the capacity as shown in your vid that seems like a good buy no?

@@rever4217 What he's not telling you is his test rig is majorly flawed. See how he's using those aligator clips to USB? Yeah USB is definitely not the connector we want to use. We don't even want to use two wires. You need 4 wires. 2 to measure voltage and 2 for carrying current. He has his current carrying lines reading voltage which drags down the voltage meaning his cutoff voltage is not correct. If he measured the voltage of the battery at the terminals with a separate multimeter they would have a higher voltage than what is shown. USB cables typically have thin wires which is why you'll see a phone charging at 2A might drag down the 5.15V USB to 4.90V or something (if its a quality charger).
These could very well be 6Ah or 7Ah each but we can't use this test to tell us anything. Notice the resistance reading the bottom right corner of the screen. It should be in milliohms. Like 0.070 ohms is 70 milliohms. These cells likely have an IR of 20? milliohms? and your wire should be thick enough to not add much more maybe another 20-50 milliohms.

Dies sind 5500- oder 6000-mAh-Akkus. Sie müssen sie auf 2,00 V entladen, um die tatsächliche Kapazität zu erhalten. Gestern habe ich 1 Stück zum Probieren bestellt. Using a two wire setup to test capacity isn't going to be ideal. Also, these batteries state they can be discharged down to 2v, not 2.5v.

    • @Bastelkiste1A
      @Bastelkiste1A  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The fact that the test setup is not ideal does not change the fact that the battery has only half the specified capacity.
According to the manufacturer, discharge voltage 2.5V as with all Lifepo4 batteries.

@@Bastelkiste1A its more than not ideal. Its wrong. Measure the battery voltage at the terminal with a multimeter. I guarantee when your tester say 2.5V your multimeter will say 2.8V or something around there. Using USB as the connector is also a poor choice. High resistance.

You are using an incorrect way to measure batteries, the value marked on the packaging is the load capacity, not the maximum amount of amps it can deliver, it is a nominal value, you should have indicated how long you kept the device on and thus multiply the amount current input with operating time.

if the 6000 mAh battery weighs 145 g and the 12000 mAh battery weighs 145 g then there is not more juice in the bottle ;-). I don't know how they get away with selling this shit ? that would be same technology but twice the energy density. Don't fall for that.
Some folks her said its used cells repacked. I am not sure about that. Its just "the same old s..t".
The only batteries I ever tested above rated capacity where myn Winston 200Ah LifePo4 cells. 8 of them, all above capacity. And they were not cheap and I'm super happy with them.
I want to build a 12 V - 50-60 Ah (or two with 30 Ah) for my trolling motor so of course it was tempting to use 8 of these "wonder cells" getting 25 Ah each pack. Wishful thinking. Great to find these videos showing the scams.
