Madonna is a first-class dancer, often she dances on the same level as her professional backup dancers. She knows a lot of dance styles. In this, she is unique as a female pop artist.
Glad you noticed her brilliant dancing. Madonna is a classically trained dancer and can dance to anything. She went on a dance scholarship at the university of Michigan but dropped out to go to New York. There, she was part of the Alvin Ailey dance theater company, until Martha Graham took her under her wing to train her. She can dance.
That is correct Mr Vazquez . . . The talent is hers nonetheless, and her ability to learn and recognize talent from others and reinventing it with her own . . .
Refreshing to see someone so engaged and smiling and having such a good time exploring Madonna’s work. She is the best live performer of all time. She really puts her heart and soul into all she does. 😊
. . . and totally live . . . I know this concert with my eyes closed. . . questioning if live ? Pay attention after the "1st guitar solo" when they tune "San Pedro" . . . That is absolutely Donna & Nikki right there LIVE.
The song I’m going Bananas is from i’m breathless album song from and inspired from the movie Dick Tracy so this song is inspired by a Carman Miranda type musical number from that era. Love your reactions ! React to confessions on the dance floor or Sticky and Sweet or MDNA, Rebel heart concerts all are amazing and the production gets better and better with each one 💯
La isla bonita is the first song I ever heard from her, everytime I listen to it, it reminds me of my dad. I cried my eyes out at the Madame X tour. It's was a celebration!
I love how you notice all the details Dereck👏👏 she’s always had an affinity for the Latin vibe and La Isla Bonita was a flawless rendition. As usual your analysis is spot on ❤️ great memory and I loved watching with you 👏👏💯
Madonna shows are spectacular and perfect. She brings you into her world and is a journey that you can’t miss any minute of it. I love this section of the tour. The vocals of Nikki Harris and Donna de Lory are amazing.
As a Madonna fan since 1985. The Girle Show is my long time favorite Madonna's show ever. No big led screens, only Madonna and her art. Absolutely marvellous and flowless in every sence. In adition to that, I must say that the Girlie Show was the first time Madonna came to Argentina. I'll always love the Girlie Show. Greetings from Buenos Aires!!!👑🇦🇷🎭🎪❤🙌👏👍🙏🔥🌈🎶😎💫
Madonna is a great performer, she doesn’t just do the same basic moves, no. She really has the right choreo for each song, she really expresses herself through her moves too, just like her voice. Great performer it’s subtle and clever. Many sing better but nobody performs like Madonna. I guess that’s one more reason why she’s the queen of pop. ❤️ this segment is great really
Yeah MJ did and Gaga does. M reinvetions the staging and musical arrangements so you never know what you are going to get! It keeps the older material fresh! ❤️ Big luv.n
Starting to follow some of your M reaction videos and it’s great that you’re now going into her live performances but I must remind you that Madonna is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. And that’s on PERIOD. You’re in for a treat with this amazing woman!
Act three was the funniest section of the concert. Like a Virgin and 26:38 the end of Holiday had me cracking up. The live vocals for I'm Going Bananas were better than the I'm Breathless studio version. Those growls were fabulous. 3:56 Another? More like the first big Madonna hit (peaked at #4) with such a sound. Mariah also had success with this approach with I Don't Wanna Cry and My All which both went to #1.
The mirror or something you noticed back madonna in la Isla bonita, actually is a window, there were 3 of them one at the left, other at the right, an the one you noticed in the middle. You can admire them better in Vogue song.
Would love to hear you react to “Pray for Spanish Eyes”, Spanish guitar, beautiful lyrics!!!! I think you would love it!!! Unfortunately she has never performed this song live. It was called “Spanish Eyes” but for some reason it was renamed over time to “Pray for Spanish Eyes”. I would also love love love a reaction to “You’ll See” in Spanish called “Veras”. She does an amazing job singing in Spanish to the song “Veras” (You’ll See but one Spanish)
The opening (Express Yourself) to Blond Ambiton tour (1990) has some of the most amazing dancing. The whole tour is non-stop. You will love it. It's her best tour ❤
Madonna was dancing the Paso Doble to La Isla Bonita. In The Drowned World Tour she dances salsa to this song. There were references to James Brown (& funk) to Holiday.
do you know what the GREATEST thing about this tour is? is that all elements are JAMMING! all lf them. all aspects was shining brightly! the main vocals, the backup vocals, the band! please, they were everything! all the arrangements were dope! GOSH I cannot explain how I love this tour above all especially this happened in the 90s, no cellphones, no big and distracting led screens etc, no over-dubbed or over-filtered video productions, Madonna was at the peak of her natural beauty (35 yo) and VOCALLY: I love this era, I LOVE this because it was before her Evita project. I love her AT this era❤️ anyway during the La Isla Bonita, it was more into Flamenco kindda stuff as can be seen from the music video but for this live they put salsa vibes into it.
Dereck, this is what you call an “A” game! Madonna’s ideas of what she thinks is entertaining to audience is the best. You must see all of her tours. This was in 1993.
Madonna loves La Isla Boniita as much as we do. She performed this on 7 out of her 11 tours to date. Her vocals are ALWAYS live and amazing. It fits her beautifully. Her performances of this are always so full of energy and joy.
I love how excited you get during La Isla Bonita. There are so many Latin/Spanish influences in her career. You should check out the Spanish version of What it feels like for a girl + La Isla Bonita from the Drowned World Tour, the videos for La Isla Bonita and Take a Bow, Living for Love into LIB again from the Rebel Heart Tour. There’s so much and others will suggest more (though avoid Spanish Lesson which is one of my least fav M songs). There’s even the cheesy but fun Miami mix of Don’t Cry For Me Argentina. Oh and Veras - the Spanish version of her beautiful track You’ll See.
Watch all of her La Isla Bonita performances-- Who's That Girl Tour, Drowned World Tour, Confessions Tour, Sticky and Sweet Tour, Rebel Heart Tour. Each one is unique. 💃
Since you love Madonna's songs with latin influences please do the official videos for "La Isla Bonita" and "Who's That Girl" next. And see if you can find an audio of "Spanish Eyes" (or "Pray For Spanish Eyes"), an amazing album track from the "Like A Prayer" album. As far as San Pedro from "La Isla Bonita" is concerned, back then a lot of fans thought that she meant the town in Belize. But Madonna clarified later that she wasn't talking about one specific place but her love for Latin America in general.
Backstage you have 3 platforms with dancers and performances all long the show (During Erotica there were always dancers there). Even Madonna at the start of Vogue (go back there and watch it again when she says "Vogue" for the first time before going to the stage, she's up there). Loved your reaction!
damn !! i never noticed that dancer up there until you mention that !! and i saw this show like million times !!! this is like discovering another level of amazingness of Madonna performance ! shit ! i'm freaking out not about it ! that is sooooooo cooooooool !
It's a song on the soundtrack album I'm Breathless from the movie she starred in opposite Warren Beatty, "Dick Tracy," and featured music written by composer Stephen Soundheim
"i'm going Bananas" is the 4 track from Madonna's 1990 album "i'm breathless"...This album was inspired by the movie "Dick Tracy" (in which Madonna also starred) and some of the most popular hits of this were "Sooner or later", "Hanky Panky", "Something to remember" and obviously famous "Vogue"...
Can you review " give me all your love " Madonna I know you saw the Super Bowl version but the video it's really cute . She looks incredible. The art direction is Fabulous Plus it has 75 million views on TH-cam
The song La Isla Bonita I think was created for one island of Canary Islands in Spain: La Palma. This island is known as the beautiful island and I am from one of these islands I think madonna made it thinking of it
Also the final leg of the tour was done in South America so this portion was very popular this leg of the tour. Backing vocals are live by Nikki and Donna from Blonde Ambition. They were a perfect trio.
Madonna said she recorded this song Isla Bonita which means Beautiful Island as a love ❤ song to Puerto Ricans that she loves. She used to date a lot of Puerto Ricans when she was younger including Jellybean Benitez who helped her become famous and one of her main dancers with her for years is Puerto Rican. Isla Bonita is also one of the nicknames of Puerto Rico.
If you like La Isla Bonita here you should react to her performance of it on The Drowned World Tour from 2001. It was her first tour since the Girlie Show, a couple of movies, 3 albums and 2 children.
Dear Dereck ,the backing vocals are not generated ,they are completely live.the are performed by her historical longtime back up singers Donna deLory and Nikki Harris ,working with Madonna ,only for her ,hey are on some album as well ,their three voice together matches so well.,but vocally answering to yo you question are completely live.thy do know every madonna's voice change and help when it's needed, he auto tune was pure out of the Jocke at the time
if you love the performance of la isla bonita then u NEED to react to the performance of this song from her 2006 confessions tour. it is BY FAR, her best presentation of the song EVER. saw it LIVE. amazing. love ur videos btw man.
The military theme used for Holiday was like an inside joke that Madonna made for herself & the people who know & work w/ her because she's known to be a control freak & has a regimented schedule even on a holiday or vacation. So she orders everyone to have a good time.
it is the studio version, funny have seen her live loads of times and she very rarely changes the song, but look at her performance from live earth from wembley stadium full video, its 26 mins long, she preforms 4 songs
I think you would be into her performance of "Lo Que Siente Una Mujer" and "La Isla Bonita" from the Drown World Tour. A Latin influenced section from that tour.
I'm Going Bananas is on the album I'm Breathless...the album she did to support Dick Tracy... all the songs she did in the movie are on the album.. that's also the album that had Vogue on it..
That was a dancer in the window above & behind her. That is the same window she appeared at the start of Vogue. She'll make another appearance there for the finale encore Everybody.
If you watch the other concerts you will notice that her voice sounds very different, in this tour it sounds very strong and loud. She stopped growling because it can be very bad for the voice.
You MUST see the Official music video for the studio version of La Isla Bonita. It was directed by Mary Lambert who directed Borderline, Like a Virgin, Material Girl and many many early Madonna hits. It would be a crime to not see the video
the whole section from Like A Virgin to La Isla Bonita is based on Old Hollywood: Like Virgin/Bye Bye Baby (Marlene Dietrich tribute) and I'm going Bananas (from 1990 I'm breathless) is a Lucille Ball (I love Lucy) tribute which is a great way to give segment to "La isla Bonita". Also Madonna here is not trying to do "Salsa" she's doing more of a Spaniard pasodoble which runs into Holiday.
Madonna is a first-class dancer, often she dances on the same level as her professional backup dancers. She knows a lot of dance styles. In this, she is unique as a female pop artist.
exactly
Glad you noticed her brilliant dancing. Madonna is a classically trained dancer and can dance to anything. She went on a dance scholarship at the university of Michigan but dropped out to go to New York. There, she was part of the Alvin Ailey dance theater company, until Martha Graham took her under her wing to train her. She can dance.
She definitely got skills.
❤❤❤
That is correct Mr Vazquez . . . The talent is hers nonetheless, and her ability to learn and recognize talent from others and reinventing it with her own . . .
Refreshing to see someone so engaged and smiling and having such a good time exploring Madonna’s work. She is the best live performer of all time. She really puts her heart and soul into all she does. 😊
Those backing vocals come courtesy of Donna and Nikki
Donna De Lory and Nikki Haris, both were with Madonna since '87 now already (and continued).
Yeah they were so good with her sonically for many years
I miss those blends
. . . and totally live . . . I know this concert with my eyes closed. . . questioning if live ? Pay attention after the "1st guitar solo" when they tune "San Pedro" . . . That is absolutely Donna & Nikki right there LIVE.
@@nunogouveia6458 I LOVED her with Nikki and Donna...that was the Holy Trinity if ever there was one!!!
La Isla Bonita from Who's That Girl Tour is AWESOME! La Isla Bonita from Sticky and Sweet Tour is EPIC!!!!!
I'm Breathless is one of the most under-rated releases.
David Stevens it sure is! And it’s my fav album 🙂
Derek: “Can she do the Salsa?”
Madonna: “Hold my beer”
Well duh! Shes half italian its in in her blood
"this is the most I've seen her move, and she's slaying this guys"......she's a professionally trained dancer. Not surprising at all ;-)
La isla bonita is the first song I ever heard from her, everytime I listen to it, it reminds me of my dad. I cried my eyes out at the Madame X tour. It's was a celebration!
You are probably one of the most authentic and well versed people who react to her videos! Love it! Subscribed!
He's the only one that is worth seeing
I love how you notice all the details Dereck👏👏 she’s always had an affinity for the Latin vibe and La Isla Bonita was a flawless rendition. As usual your analysis is spot on ❤️ great memory and I loved watching with you 👏👏💯
La Isla Bonita is one of her biggest hits. It’s almost exactly like the recording from 86.
I get exhausted just watching her concerts. How she could put on a show like that every day is crazy.
I still think (in my option) this is her BEST live version of La Isla.. perfection 👌
Madonna rules the world!!!!! please look the begining ........ The Virgin Tour !!!!
Amazing performances👏👏Best performer ever 👑😍👏
Oh, by the way, Madonna is a dancer first and foremost.
React to "Confessions Tour" full or "Blond Ambition Tour".
Madonna is a great performer, she doesn’t just do the same basic moves, no. She really has the right choreo for each song, she really expresses herself through her moves too, just like her voice. Such a beautifully structured show... pure joy! Her best live show.
In every new tour, Madonna allways change the version of her songs (new and old)!
Is pure art, there is a very different versions of la Isla
Madonna have a very long lasting love for anything Spanish, Latin , that is how she end up with a daughter half Cuban
Act three was the funniest section of the concert. Like a Virgin and 26:38 the end of Holiday had me cracking up. The song “La Isla Bonita” was actually inspired by a vacation billboard for an island she saw as she passed by on the freeway in LA
Dear Dereck, you really have to react to MDNA Tour ! She killed everything
One of her best tour !!! A MASTERPIECE
The mirror or something you noticed back madonna in la Isla bonita, actually is a window, there were 3 of them one at the left, other at the right, an the one you noticed in the middle. You can admire them better in Vogue song.
True..in vogue she rushes in every elevated window stage left, right n center
Also you can note it better at the beginning of Everybody, Madonna standing in the center window and Niki and Donna on the corners

This performance of holiday is so epic, I could get alzheimers and still never forget it😂👌

The best part of this tour when she performed La Isla Bonita.
Holiday was originally written for Mary Wilson from the supremes! But Mary turned it down. It was Madonna first charting hit!
Madonna loves La Isla Boniita as much as we do. She performed this on 7 out of her 11 tours to date. Her vocals are ALWAYS live and amazing. It fits her beautifully. Her performances of this are always so full of energy and joy.
"I'm going bananas" is a song from the album "I'm Breathless" for the movie "Dick Tracy" in which she played also.

Madonna is so RAW here have of the show she sings live if not most something she doesn't do much now one of her best show one of my favorites
Backstage you have 3 platforms with dancers and performances all long the show (During Erotica there were always dancers there). Even Madonna at the start of Vogue (go back there and watch it again when she says "Vogue" for the first time before going to the stage, she's up there). Loved your reaction!
Yeah you can even see her run and pose that’s cute

Holiday is about celebrating life & coming together as a unity for humanity.

Madonna
I know you saw the Super Bowl version but the video it's really cute . She looks incredible.
The art direction is Fabulous
Plus it has 75 million views on TH-cam
at the concert we were singing our lungs out. sometimes forget Madonna and look at the audience ands see how much fun they are having?????!!!!
there are 3 window type things on the top of the stage, if you watch vogue thats where she appears from
❤AMAZING shes a real artist
HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY NOT KNOW LA ISLA BONITA STADIO VERSION????
ITS ONE OF HER MOST ICONIC SONGS EVER
What I love the most is she looked like she was genuinely having a lot of fun.
You have to watch the video for La Isla Bonita, you will love both, the song and the video ❤❤ greetings from Peru 🥳
She's such a fucking legend, this segment was everything.....I couldn't stop smiling, just incredible wow....
Benicio del Toro was an extra in her music video of this song. Btw. This is one the most popular songs in her catalogue.
The song La Isla Bonita I think was created for one island of Canary Islands in Spain: La Palma. This island is known as the beautiful island and I am from one of these islands I think madonna made it thinking of it
This is madonna greatest performance every
Me encanta 😍 y Madonna también 🤣
Yes, that's the studio version of la isla bonita!
If You like the hip hop influence You must react to "secret" and "human Nature"
Also the final leg of the tour was done in South America so this portion was very popular this leg of the tour.
Backing vocals are live by Nikki and Donna from Blonde Ambition. They were a perfect trio.
my favorite show of Madonna, she was at her top at that time, thrilling
Madonna said she recorded this song Isla Bonita which means Beautiful Island as a love ❤ song to Puerto Ricans that she loves. She used to date a lot of Puerto Ricans when she was younger including Jellybean Benitez who helped her become famous and one of her main dancers with her for years is Puerto Rican. Isla Bonita is also one of the nicknames of Puerto Rico.
Every La Isla Bonita performance is different sonically, but they're all amazing. The Drowned World Tour one has a similar vibe but is slower
Madonna is the best ever !!!!!!!!!
Yes the performer is at the top. There are five mini balconies on this stage.
Because of this performance the girly show is one of her best tour .
Please do confessions tour next, it’s her best!
The last part of the Holiday routine was taken from James Brown, it wasn't spontaneous it was choreographed.
The military theme used for Holiday was like an inside joke that Madonna made for herself & the people who know & work w/ her because she's known to be a control freak & has a regimented schedule even on a holiday or vacation. So she orders everyone to have a good time.
But Dereck La isla Bonita was a major hit back in 1986!!!!
There were performers in three cages above the stage.
it is the studio version, funny have seen her live loads of times and she very rarely changes the song, but look at her performance from live earth from wembley stadium full video, its 26 mins long, she preforms 4 songs
She can sing very well and dance ..... wow
This is why madonna is the best female performer of all time .
She is the best female Entertainer
I think you would be into her performance of "Lo Que Siente Una Mujer" and "La Isla Bonita" from the Drown World Tour. A Latin influenced section from that tour.
I'm Going Bananas is on the album I'm Breathless...the album she did to support Dick Tracy... all the songs she did in the movie are on the album.. that's also the album that had Vogue on it..
That was a dancer in the window above & behind her. That is the same window she appeared at the start of Vogue. She'll make another appearance there for the finale encore Everybody.
I definitely see a Bobby brown thing with madonna’s exit for holiday haha
James Brown 😉
Dereck, please, Confessions Tour! You'll be AMAZED
If you watch the other concerts you will notice that her voice sounds very different, in this tour it sounds very strong and loud. She stopped growling because it can be very bad for the voice.
You should do the MDNA tour next and compare Madonna at 34 versus Madonna st 54.
You MUST see the Official music video for the studio version of La Isla Bonita. It was directed by Mary Lambert who directed Borderline, Like a Virgin, Material Girl and many many early Madonna hits. It would be a crime to not see the video
The Girlie Show marquee was always there on top of the main stage.
As a Spaniard, I would like to hear a full Spanish version of La Isla Bonita 😂💪 Come on Madonna.
Yes in Belize there is a street named after this Song La Isla Bonita
the whole section from Like A Virgin to La Isla Bonita is based on Old Hollywood: Like Virgin/Bye Bye Baby (Marlene Dietrich tribute) and I'm going Bananas (from 1990 I'm breathless) is a Lucille Ball (I love Lucy) tribute which is a great way to give segment to "La isla Bonita". Also Madonna here is not trying to do "Salsa" she's doing more of a Spaniard pasodoble which runs into Holiday.
You need to react to her ‘La Isla Bonita’ music video. Such a beautiful song.
You really need and must watch the Blonde Ambition Tour 1990 and the Who's That Girl/Ciao Italy Tour 1987.
She is doing a good job 😂 She was a dancer first and planned to make it a career before she became famous as a singer.
