I am Rick Burks' (Michael) sister. It's been 26 years since he passed and I love being able to see and hear about him still. And your review was the most descriptive, entertaining, and accurate I've ever watched. So, thank you very much! You are great at what you do.
KtLovers Thank you! I'm really sorry for your loss, especially in such a tragic way. Every time I introduce a new person to Blood Diner, they love Rick's character. Glad to know I was able to make you smile. All the best. :)
KtLovers I'm sorry to hear that. I saw your brother's film one night in my small black and white tv (the same I used to play spectrum), dubbed to spanish (I'm from spain) and I literally fell in love with it. Loved the funny faces, the characters and also your brother's character (He was the bad guy, but I still keep rooking for him!) I never could underestand why this film was never more popular. Maybe the wolrd was not prepared for it. Your brother totally rocked.
I'm so sorry about Rick. I'm friends with Carl Crew (aka George) from Blood Diner. He's told me some stories about your brother. I have the music videos Rick was in saved to my favorites. I think of him when I hear those great old songs. I also wrote to Wikipedia, as they had some information incorrect. Your brother seems like someone I would have been friends with. Carl was the one to lead me to 'Blood Diner' and I own the copy now. It is very dear to my heart. I know Carl still misses your brother very much. If you go to my page, the one video I put up, besides all my likes, is footage from a Blood Diner screening and Q&A in LA from 2 or 3 years ago. Carl now owns a club in North Hollywood called 'California Institute of Abnormal Arts.' Rick has not been forgotten. God bless you and your family. - Crystal Noland
The “meat clever in one hand, his genitals in the other” is a great line. This is one crazy film. Thanks for making me aware of it. Between this movie, siren, and the void, you have introduced me to some fun films I missed.
Finally! This is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and I've never seen anyone who has enjoyed it as much as I did. And I agree, how come there isn't a special edition of this? I need a blu-ray of some kind.
No problem! While I'm glad this finally made it to DVD, its a shame it was lumped into a multi-movie pack. The film is solid enough to stand on its own. I think the studios just think it is too far out there for most people. Oh and if this is the real Dukey, you were awesome in Surf Nazis!
You are in for a treat, the movie gets even more crazy after that point. I started the show hoping I would get people interested in the movie enough to track it down, so hearing this sort of thing lets me know I'm still doing it right. Its cool, we can like different things you know!

The worst thing that can happen to an artform, is acceptance by the mainstream! When it underground, disrespected and hated by the mainstream masses- the art form thrives at genius level. But once big budget corporations find out "hey...there's money here! Lets milk it!" the art form dies. From Blood Diner......to Scary Movie IV.
Hey Cecil! I had the pleasure of viewing this treasure for the first time October 2020 on Hulu of all places. I was looking for camp, gory horror films to keep me company as I worked on my 80s Dracula costume and this film did not disappoint! (I totally paused the movie to laugh at the brothers' shopping list and send a screen shot to the group chat...I don't think any one else appreciated the humor like I did lol.) I am a firm believer that the scares are year-round, so naturally I'm still thinking about the Tutman Cafe in January 2021. It's a shame these kinds of movies aren't made as often; a life dream of mine is to be a victim in a really cheesy horror film and die disgustingly. Oh well, here's to dreaming. Quality video as always! (I realize it's "old" but I'm just seeing it now so...relax.) Cheers x

Thanks. This movie is finally getting some attention. We've had a few midnight screening over the last couple of years. Not everyone "got it" the first time around. Cannon certainly did it and released it to theaters without any kind of ads or fanfare at all.
Awesome! Glad you liked it. I'm a big fan of Blood Diner and it must have been a blast to work on. Glad you are doing well and aren't ashamed of your older works. You are in an all time classic!
Blood Diner remains to be my favorite cult horror classic. I may be biased, since I'm friends with one of the stars, but even if I wasn't, I'd still love the movie. Thank you for posting.
Thanks! Awesome, its great to discover a movie like this. I found Mutango that way. (saw it when I was a kid, scared the crap outta me, years later saw a trailer for it and remembered it instantly)
I saw the beginning, the graveyard scene, and the head crushing scene when I was really young, and for years I have been trying to figure out what movie it was. Turns out it was Blood Diner. Another great review, now I have to track this one down. Thank you sir!
lol thanks :) I have a DVD that was released a while ago but it is the edited version and the 6 pack DVD which has the uncut version. You can find the 6 pack pretty cheap. Amazon has it for $9. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks! Finally got to this one. In Sonye's defense, sometimes the screenplay doesn't end up being the movie. Look at the first House of the Dead. Boll threw away half of the screenplay and made parts up as they went along. Not saying that is the case with The Tomb but more than likely they cut stuff for budget and what not. Hard Rock Zombies! That movie is insane. So bizarre. They don't make em like that anymore.
Sorry the movie industry didn't work out but at least you have a few things under your belt and probably plenty of stories. I'll be sure to follow you on Facebook. All the best. :)
Anybody else still watching this amazing goodbadflicks review of Blood Diner, in 2021?? I still am. This review is as entertaining as the movie is. It's nice to see that the film finally got a Blu-ray release in 2016. It was WAY overdue!!
Thanks! Yeah, subs and views are constantly going up. As long as that keeps happening I'm good. Maybe one day one of these will get some mass attention and then the whole thing will skyrocket. Who knows. That would be nice.
oh my god... this is it. The movie ive been trying to remember for almost 30 years. I watched this on a sleepover once and always remembered it, but thought it was "Deadly Diner." Crazy!!!

@@GoodBadFlicks Of course. Why did I even entertain the thought that an editor would pass up such an obvious and golden idea? I feel like I should watch that movie for that beat alone.
