Nowadays it's the "snoek bakkie" but way back when I was in primary school (I'm now 75) we had the horse-and-cart snoek vendor who used to go through the suburbs announcing his arrival by blowing on his snoek horn. How I miss those days...

Gosh that brought back memories from District 6..anyone else remember the Milk man who dropped off fresh milk and juice everyday. As kids we use to run after his van and shout Milky Milky.literally every morning. I recall the driver was an African gentlemen wearing a white uniform and huge grinning smile.. shew those were the days. Never ever had snoek soup but my moms fry snoek is to die for. We literally salivate waiting as she bakes them. Thanks for the memories Aunty Fatima🥰🥰

Good afternoon Aunty. Thank you for taking us on memory lane. You are spoiled to get fresh fish at your door. Where I live they stand along the road.
I remember the snoek bakkie. You could hear them in the next street blowing or calling, " mammie lekke vet snoek. Vars uit die see.".Sometimes they even sell the fish oil if you haven't got any.
Yes those were nice days. We do miss it. That's why you are STRONG body soul and spirit. Keep up the good work remembering us how our parents taught us. Look after yourself. 💐🌹🙋‍♀️

😭. Aah! You make me miss Cape Town SO MUCH. I'm living in the northern cape now, in the green kalahari. I am 60 years old and I spent the first half of my life in Glencairn. My mother who is now over 80 still lives there. As a child I used to help the fisherman trek in the nets on the beach. I really miss having fresh fish to eat. Wonderful video .

What joy! Ai, julle is geseënd. Baie dankie vir die deel. Jy is 'n juweel. Sterkte en baie liefde. 💛💛💛💛

Hierdie is 'n uitstekende program Fatima! Ek is self 'n "Capie".
